The low hum of the engine reverberated through the cabin of a small personal craft as it gently flew through the open air of Earth's skies. Designed in a bright silver and blue font, the name 'Baskerville Finance' was prominent across the side of the vehicle. Within only three individuals sat, the pilot and two passengers en route to their destination and flying in from the north. "You seem a little ill Merri, are you fine?", Tunic raised an eyebrow at the young maid who sat opposite her in the tight confines of the aircraft's passenger cabin. Dressed in a uniform of silver and blue colouration and with dark brown hair that hung down her back, the maid Merri seemed worse for wear where she sat in her seat. An almost pale tint had taken to her face as she held her stomach, her fingers clenching with every rare instance of turbulence that the craft met with. "No...erm. Please do not worry about me Lady Baskerville, I am simply unaccustomed to the way the plane shifts in flight." Her eyes glancing to the side, Merri did her best to hide her more than obvious seasickness that the flight so far had given her. But after a moment she would give up the act and make a quick break for the wash closet at the rear of the aircraft. "Miss Baskerville, we will be landing shortly, from up here though things do not look great down there. So please do be careful.", the voice of a young man chimed in over the internal intercom of the plane. With a brief shudder and lurch of the craft, paired with the muted sounds of the young maid still adjusting poorly to the momentum the sign that descent had begun was apparent. It would be a matter of minutes before the wheel base of the plane struck a cracked and bumpy runway and inched along to a complete stop. Once more the intercom chimed in. "We have arrived, during your visit, I will see about refueling so I do not need to contact Johnathan to bring us fuel." There was a hint of amusement in the young pilot's voice as he said this before disengaging the locks on the inner doors of the plane. With slow, careful steps Tunic began to make her descent from the plane, stepping down a series of steps towards the tattered remains of a once grand runway. "Please wait my Lady, I am feeling much better now.", the hasty voice of Merri spoke up as the maid almost vaulted towards the now open door and scrambled forwards to follow behind her young mistress. Looking back on occasion, Tunic made sure Merri was okay before continuing down herself and unto the cracked and desiccated aircraft road. "Has the Servantus estate truly fallen this far?", she mused to herself, look about at the dilapidated and collapsing structures that populated the small airway station. In the distance a larger structure, likely the main estate, stood. Quickly catching the young woman's eyes, she pointed in its direction and looked back to Merri again. "That is where we will begin the search." A genuine mixture of curiosity and authority mingled in the girl's voice and at her intentions in the former home of the once prominent family. Giving a firm nod, now more resolute than prior, Merri stepped up beside the smaller girl and replied. "I hope I can be of as much help as Johnathan is during such excursions." The hesitance in the woman's voice was quite clear, her recency in the position showing in her comment towards her prominent superior. With a shake of her head Tunic dismissed Merri's concerns. "Do not stress over it, I brought you because I trust in your abilities.", the young Baskerville gave her maid a smile before turning to the abandoned estate and beginning her trek forwards, lowering the hood of her bunny hoodie to let her long, blue hair loose as she did so. |
