After a long day of riding cows, flipping rocks and punching her new sparring partners (Thanks, Moire), Laezi would spend a good long time simply flopped out across the landscape. The plains' tall grasses tickled her smooth rubbery skin as she stared up at the sky, counting clouds, seeing faces in them, and over-all toning down for the first time since she'd woken up! The Majin found her mind drifting towards the tarot-reading she had received some days ago. Indeed, she wanted to be strong... she WANTED power... but for what, she wasn't sure. At the time of her mother's... death, Laezi had wanted revenge. She hungered for it, the idea of her little hands getting around her throat. Even now she felt the toxic embers of it crackling in her mind at the memory, of the mysterious shadowy figure clutching her parent's throat...
...But now, the majority of what she felt was sadness... loneliness... and NOT really a motivation to maul that stranger... She just wanted her Momma back... But the hunger still remained. Laezi... was strong and it didn't take someone with strength to see it. She could easily punch through human buildings, rip apart giant rocks if she REALLY put her mind to it and BITE hard enough to hurt people who were ENGULFED in energy! She was POWERFUL... but it wasn't enough. Much like how an empty stomach compelled one to eat, Laezi's body URGED her to keep fighting, keep PUNCHING through some kind of impulse, some kind of NEED that bubbled up under her skin!
She wanted to fight... but was that really all?
"...I dunno..." Laezi mumbled, answering her own question. "...I wanna know more... I wanna fight strong people... I wanna... I wanna..." She grunted and rolled over onto her side. Well, she wasn't gonna find out just by sitting here. She had to get up and FIND a reason to keep fighting besides... you know... wanting to and SO... Laezi would set out!
It wouldn't be long, well outside of civilization and at the edge of an evergreen forest, would the Majin come across a shrine. It was old and run-down, the rocky structures covered in cob-webs, pollen and dust, the sharp angles weathered to nearly non-existence and obtusely-angled curves... But it wasn't the shrine itself that had caught the girl's attention but a small, eerily-glowing candle resting upon the shrine's alter. Upon it's wick flickered a cool blue flame, it dancing in the light breeze of the planes like any other fire but, as the Majin drew closer... she felt no heat from it. No, there was a chill that danced across her skin.
"This candle is broken..." Laezi muttered, chocking up its strange attributes to some kind of malfunction. Candles aren't COLD when lit! AND THEY DIDN'T GLOW BLUE! Stupid people can't even make candles right! Well, she would just have to fix it! ...And the first touch was putting out the flame-
As soon as Laezi's fingers touched the fire, the world in front of her seemed to SPLIT OPEN! A portal several meters in length cracked wide before the little girl, revealing a rotating spiral tunnel inside! Laezi JERKED back her hand and SCREAMED in shock, falling on her butt as she scuttled backwards! The temperature in the air seemed to drop several dozen degrees in a matter of seconds, the air SUCKING into the spinning portal as if a GREAT BEAST were taking a deep breath! Frost would creep up the tips of Laezi's boots, the grasses around her growing ridged and white with the stuff! The morning sunshine seemed to darken in the sky as shadows extended towards the portal, the Majin's silver eyes wider than EVER as she trembled with fear. SUDDENLY, the spiral interior would FLASH and an ugly barren wasteland would be revealed to Laezi from within! Sandy rocks, gnarled twisted tree-like plants, a pile of spiky balls the size of buildings and a fountain spurting a thick, gunky blood-like substance!
"What'didowhat'didowhat'didooooo?!" Laezi mumbled rapidly, barely cohesive in her panic! "I'm... I'm gonna go find Meara! She... She'll know what to do!" ...But as Laezi scrambled to her feet and turned to RUN AWAY... a dark figure would step through the portal.
