Zuqetta would stifle a laugh upon hearing Laezi's response, the complexities of adult situations completely lost on her as she focused so firmly on the black on white of helping or not helping, trusting or not trusting. She was glad Laezi was giving it thought at least, but this only proved to Zuqetta how young Laezi still was. She decided to stop beating around the bush and would take to eating her own eggs with a bit more vigor, better to enjoy eggs hot than cold, and with the size of these eggs they were cooling quickly. She'd listen to Laezi's response as she ate, pausing only when Laezi decided to spit back a retort with a clear underlying aggression.
"Hey!" she'd pique up, her cheeks puffing with a bit of a pout, "I wasn't sayin' it to be rude! It's not like I'm lookin' down on you for bein' a child, if anything, you bein' so young yet so strong and self-sufficient only makes me more impressed with you." she'd explain, though Laezi's continued dismissive behavior made it clear the damage had already been done.
Zuqetta would eat at her eggs with a bit more aggression herself, though calmed quickly as she enjoyed the savory flavor. Laezi expressed an interest in Ayu, but quickly displayed with her reactions her dissatisfaction at Ayu's shyness. Her eggs just about finished off, Zuqetta couldn't help but to laugh a bit at Laezi's expressive behavior.
"Heheh, it's so easy ta tell what you're thinkin' when ya get so emotional!" she'd laugh, placing her fork down upon her finished plate, "Listen, I ain't tryin' ta belittle you, but if ya say you're an adult then ya gotta have adult manners. If you're still a kid though, then feel free ta keep having those kid manners." she'd say with a sly expression, clearly teasing Laezi a bit.
"Also, don't let someone bein' shy bother ya; you ask if she's nice? Well she is, she's nice, adorable, surprisingly mature, smart, and quite the special little girl." Zuqetta would explain with a prideful, bright expression on her face, "She's my little Ayu, my daughter, and my biggest reason for staying alive and trying to get off this planet." she'd say firmly, her tone soft but serious.
She'd begin to de-materialize the used dishes, doing the same with Laezi's once her food was entirely finished before doing the same with the table. She'd lean back in her chair, arms crossed as she attempted to approached her conversation with Laezi was a bit more seriousness. It was clear by Laezi's prior reactions that she didn't take to coddling well, so Zuqetta opted to speak to her as she would an adult as she gave her response to Laezi's previous ascertain.
"As for adults, I wanted to say that it's not so black and white as you explained. Like I said before, adults are complicated." she'd begin, "Focusing on yourself and the people you care about doesn't mean you'll never help others. If I had to choose between helping someone I loved or helping a stranger, I'd love to help both, but if I had no choice no matter what but to choose one, then I'll always choose the person I love." she'd explain, her tail twitching about; she'd give Laezi a moment to process the explanation, but would quickly follow up.
"Our universe isn't so black and white however, and nice people will help others regardless of their personal circumstance." she'd say, offering Laezi a soft smile, "Take us for example, you're hungry and didn't have to share your egg, but you did. And as for me, my focus should be on getting home both for Ayu and myself, but I stayed ta hang out and cook eggs with ya!" she'd say happily.
"Hehe, even those people that "keep goin' on that way" like ya mentioned, whether they like it or not, others will still try to help them too, even if they're just a stranger." she'd finish with a content nod, "See? It's dumb and complicated... but, I suppose I won't say it's easier or better ta be a kid. So, sorry for makin' ya feel so annoyed by what I said." she'd remark, offering an apology before tilting her head curiously, "That said... why're you so adamant about bein' an adult anyways?"
