BACKGROUND: Takiyaki had it all. A loving family, middle-class wealth, and an era of peace. That didn't stop the boy from following a slippery slope that led only to ruin.
Brother to the future mega-nerd and gaming enthusiast Doriyoki, the two were thick as thieves in their early years. Taki was the conniving, boisterous, outspoken, daring one, while Dori was the curious, quiet, intelligent, and polite one. Against expectations, Taki never grew out of his 'cute,' childish rebellion phase. The brothers aged, and Taki's penchant for violence, pushing boundaries, and going against the moral norm never died down. This caused a rift between the two - and a wedge between Taki and his parents that culminated in him running away from home in his early teens to fall in deeper with a group of thugs.
Growing up with criminals, it should be no surprise that Taki became one. Disconnected from his family and isolated from any moral center, he was taught martial arts and gunplay before taking up a full-time job as a bandit in the lesser populated parts of Earth. While robbery was the prime objective, bloodshed and, rarely, murder weren't unheard of. The operation came crashing down some years later when a military expedition seized the coastal-based bandits, with half the group locked behind bars and the other half given a choice: join and serve or face the same fate as their former comrades.
Taki, taking the name of Flinn, served with the Earth Navy for over a decade. During an especially dangerous mission, he lost part of his right forearm and was moved from an active field officer role to a planning and instructing paper-pusher one on the ship. After the banditry threat had been quelled and Earth entered another era of relative peace, he was honorably discharged - though with a chip on his shoulder from how military life had treated him and the cheap replacement he got for his arm.
Fed up with Earth and deciding to take control of his own life, Flinn fled to the stars to become a wandering mercenary. With his skill and experience, he quickly became a small-time celebrity among bounty-hunting circles, using the money to buy a quality Ki-connected replacement for his arm and splurging on all sorts of assorted luxuries. It was only in recent years that the flippant, apathetic, hardended warrior spared a glance back toward Earth: the spike of power in the galaxy and brewing trouble had finally lured him to pay a visit to his home...

You may activate Max Power at the very start of your post, increasing the power of all of your techniques by +10% while active. This will drain Momentum at a cost of -1 MP per post at the beginning of your post and prevents you from gaining MP naturally, using evasive or escape techs, blocking escapes, and intercepting attacks meant for others. You can only turn it off at the end of a post, at the end your second post after activation at the earliest. You will still consume MP and not regain any MP on the post you turned it off on. If you run out of MP, you lose Max Power's effects at the end of your post and cannot gain any MP on your next turn.
