BACKGROUND: The tale of Skivvy Spandex is scarce compared to the great epics of old. His life thus far has been simple. Mundane. Boring. Moving to West City with his mother last year after she and his father finished their messy divorce, he settled into the mundanity of life rather quickly. He expected everything to be as it always was. Same shit, different city. He couldn't be more wrong. After a fateful meeting with West City's greatest hero (or vigilante as some might call her), his life would be changed forever. A local villain known only as "The Machine King" unleashed his latest creation into the city early one afternoon; a giant mechanical gorilla. That day, Skivvy was being dragged to dinner with his grandparents when terror struck. Across the street, there was an electronics store that the Machine King's mechanical creation was cleaning out for spare parts to assist in the creation of the scientist's newest prototypes. While the family ate dinner on the upper floor of the hotel, The Great Saiyagirl arrived to stop the mechanical menace. During the fight, the machine began to grab anything it could find nearby to throw at her, including vehicles, streetlights, and trash dumpsters.
When he grabbed the slender base of the restaurant building that Skivvy and his family were in, the preteen thought it was all over. However, after the machine threw the building through the air and towards the hero, he realized that he wasn't dead. Looking out a nearby window, he saw The Great Saiyagirl holding back the building, killing its kinetic energy before setting it down gently in the streets. The two locked eyes for only a second, but this was more than enough for Skivvy to immediately become the West City hero's biggest fan. He made posters, began researching every known appearance of The Great Saiyagirl, and even started a fan club at his school. There are a few artists among these children, and now they're starting on a Great Saiyagirl comic book. Skivvy did this because he felt like he owed it to make sure that everyone knew the name of the hero that saved his life and the lives of his family. He wanted, more than anything, to know who The Great Saiyagirl was so he could ask to join her in her crimefighting. For months, he trained in martial arts so when the time finally came, he would be able to be useful in a fight. Still, he had no clue who his hero was. By a strange twist of fate, however, this would soon change.
While with his mother on vacation in Central City, the city was attacked by a Lich and his cohorts. The two managed to survive by hiding in the sewers, but that didn't stop him from catching a glimpse of the people who were fighting. His eyes were drawn to one of them in particular; a girl in a purple gi. The way she fought, the techniques she used... they were so familiar. He had watched every single Great Saiyagirl fight that he could find footage of. He knew her fighting style like the back of his hand. At that point, he knew; he had found his hero. Once the pair made it back home, Skivvy began to investigate. He noticed that the girl looked like she was in high school, so he waited at the school gates every day hoping to catch a glimpse of her. One day, he would follow her until no one was within earshot, then confronted her about her secret identity. To his surprise, she was fairly candid about who she was. She even remembered the day that she saved Skivvy and his family. He asked to join her, demonstrating his martial arts against the hero to prove that he was worthy. The plucky youth was quickly defeated, unable to even lay a hand on his opponent. Still, the hero must have seen something in the boy. That day, she accepted his request to fight by her side.
And thus, The Great Saiyalad was born!

Skivvy unites with up to two others, one of those usually being The Great Saiyagirl. He charges his katana scabbard with energy, causing the weapon to nearly double in size. Saiyalad unleashes a lightning quick series of devastating attacks with this weapon, finishing off with a kick to sweep their legs out from under them with the purpose of leaving the target open to a finishing blow from Skivvy's allies.

The helmet of Skivvy's hero costume was designed and built by Kaci Williams, Gira's best friend. It is designed with the girl's usual design philosophy of form and function, having a sleek design and myriad features. One such feature enables him to read the locations and battle powers of any ki signature not masked by antisense.
Utility Technique | Communications Mode
The main feature of Skivvy's hero helm is access to the internet and intergalactic communications, enabling him to communicate with those using conventional devices such as scouters and telephones, as well as communicate with his team. He also has access to email, SMS, social media, and many streaming services on an AR display as per his request.
