Tina had believed she was sacrificing herself for the greater good of the universe, so now every day seemed more like a gift than the last. She had a new appreciation for her life. She also had a powerful drive to live up to her expectations. The Protectors of the Galaxy put a huge weight on her shoulders, but she was determined to find herself equal to it.
The first step, however, seemed to be the hardest. She had to wait. The remaining rings had each flown off into space in different directions to find new champions worthy of wielding them. Her first job would be to wait for them, and once they arrive she would be responsible for telling them everything and getting them trained up for the future.
She wondered what they would be like. What qualities the rings would find in them to earn them a place among the newest order of the Knights. She knew kindness wouldn't be a requirement, but surely goodness would play a part? There was no guarantee that they'd get along, but that didn't matter. It was down to her to make sure they understood how important was their duty.
Flying over the cool blue oasis, she banked sharply to the right just to test out how quickly she could turn. Apparently the rings didn't follow the usual laws of physics, because the turn was so immediate that she crashed into a huge purple tree. Fortunately, she always had a protective barrier around her when flying, and she wasn't injured... much.
"So glad nobody saw that." She muttered, getting back to her feet and smoothing out her black jacket. One of the interesting things about the rings was that it could materialize any sort of uniform the wearer could imagine. Hers was a green-and-black skintight fit with a black outer jacket and matching boots. She kept her blonde hair free, but opted for a mask that concealed her eyes that she was beginning to get used to.
The blonde looked to the sky, as she had done on numerous occasions over the last few days. This time, however, she finally spotted what she'd been waiting for! Two bright trails - each a different color - were flying in from space. They were so bright, and so different from the green glow she always had around herself, that the brilliant orange and red lights were so beautiful to witness.
Aiming her hand to the sky, she fired off a huge green blast of energy to the sky like a flare.
