The young Saiyan sat on the edge of the bed looking at the wall, her legs swinging like an impatient child as yet another orderly from Zuqetta’s newly formed Saiyan Doctors Corps or whatever she’d named it took another sample of her blood from an arm, drawing it into a small syringe and stowing it for testing. Since she’d woken up and pulled the IV forcefully out of her arm all people seemed to want to do was poke her with needles and prod her to find out what hurt. Honestly it was easier to point to something that didn’t ache or hurt right now. Zuqetta by all reports had hit her with something akin to the force of a ship to ship missile and launched her out of the throne room in one attack. For some reason unfathomable to the doctors, who couldn’t figure out why she’d be laughing at something like that she had, she’d laughed until her already bandaged sides ached and her face hurt from smiling. Zuqetta really hadn’t held back…at least not completely. When Jagaimo had attacked her the young fighter hadn’t really expected to wake up again in this plane of existence. But she wasn’t about to broadcast that the aspirant for the throne had pulled her punches. She corrected herself. Not an aspirant…Zuqetta was now legitimately the Ruler of all of Plant, now the Tuffles were under their reign too.
Queen Zuqetta…or whatever the title was she was going to use officially now to lead the Kingdom. It had actually happened. The woman had lept her promise and followed through on her plan and now was the most powerful person on Plant, not just because her battle power exceeded everyone elses by miles, but because people now had to recognise her as the rightful leader of their world. Things were never going to be the same again.
The thought still made her smile…until the orderly drawing blood stabbed her in the arm again with a new needle and she glared at him with a hiss. As powerful as she was, why did needles still hurt so much if they missed their mark? She grumbled something under her breath and the Saiyan administering to her just smirked and pulled the needle out, chosen for their experience and medical knowledge rather than their bedside manner.
“Com’on lass, hit by a sun but you flinch at a few needles?”
The bearded Saiyan chuckled again and held up a defensive hand, waving away her anger with him.
“Gotta run a few more tests, that's all, nothing to worry about, you got hit pretty hard.”
He scurried off, his laugh echoing through the wall as he moved to aggravate the next patient down the line of rooms. An entire wing of the palace had been converted and it was by all accounts doing well, more than they’d had in the past that was for sure. But there was something unnerving about the clean sterile environment that surrounded her. It reminded her of being back in the Tuffle city of Hatchi after Fukushu had almost broken her neck and left her there. She didn’t like hospitals.
Jagaimo shook her head, kicking her feet a few more times before she tried to move one of her arms again. It barely moved in the sling that kept it supported and she felt a pain shoot through her shoulder making the young woman grit her teeth. Still broken then. Along with who knew how many cracked and broken bones, burns and strangely enough not just from heat. She’d heard someone talking about extreme cold but she could only vaguely remember the feeling as Zuqetta hit her. She’d have to ask about that some time.
Jagaimo growled without turning her head towards the sound as she heard the door to her sparse room open again. She’d lost count of how many times it had opened and closed today when she just wanted to get some rest.
“By the Kai’s I swear if one more of you comes in asking for a blood sample I'm going to show you what it’s like to enter orbit without a space pod!”
