APPEARANCE: Surveya is a Shinjin with pale skin, not unlike many humans, though her ears would have most mortals dub her a Konatsian. Her hair is long, spiky, and white as snow, while her eyes are a pale purple. She is most comfortable in standard Shinjin robes, though often makes do with whatever is available to her in the mortal realms, if a disguise is necessary. She is also quite short, at only 5'0".
BACKGROUND: Surveya's fruit was plucked from its tree around five hundred years ago, and like many Shinjin, she was cultivated into a dutiful servant of her universe. Or, more of an administrator, really. She quickly took to tasks related to overseeing mortal conflicts and ensuring nothing got too crazy down there, though it was difficult to keep an especially close eye on things from so far above the mortal lands. Still, she found it fascinating that such short-lived and ultimately inconsequential lives fought so very, very hard in order to prove themselves of consequence - they never were, of course. One man's name might ring for a century or two, only to be forgotten entirely in the next one. It was a pattern she quickly picked up on. Furthermore, it was rare one's influence ever spread beyond their own planet, let alone galaxy. Watching mortals struggle for relevance was more or less akin to watching a squirrel bury its acorn and then forget about it - and die of starvation as a result.
However, it was their job to monitor and keep track of how things were going down there. And, seemingly out of the blue, both the strength and level of discontent among mortals suddenly began to climb at alarming rates. These mortals, who had spent their entire existences as intelligent species well beneath the Shinjin and other gods, were suddenly displaying levels of strength far beyond even most Shinjin! Not to mention the fact that somehow, they had recently even discovered cracks in the security of the Afterlife. They were now up to three reported cases of deceased souls worming their ways back into the living realms! Something had to be done about this.
Surveya, now five hundred and two years old, was selected as one among several Shinjin to head down into the mortal realms and conduct a thorough survey of its populace. Was there a reason discontent was growing? Was greater intervention on the part of the gods' necessary? Was there a common thread among these extraordinarily powerful individuals? It was their job to find out. And so, Surveya departed from the land of the gods for the first time in her five centuries of life and made for the galaxy to which she had been assigned, determined to find answers...
