Space Station 9, a beautiful station that is basically the airport of space. So when it came to the people coming about and taking public ships to go to other destinations instead of owning a ship of their own, this was the cheapest and best way to get around. Dr Elrem wasn't here to take a cheap ship to head to a planet, no he was here on business. An oversize big purple fish looking creature wearing a black suit and covered in wrinkles looking at Dr Elrem with a cocky grin.
"You really expect me to sell this borg ore to you for the price you are asking for? Listen buddy if I wanted to be scammed I would go to the underground market. You are wasting my time here."
Mechacong also sat right across from the man, slightly removing his mask from his face and showing his burnt scar. The man's face went pale and he started to shake.
"Its you... Yang-"
Mechacong quickly interrupted him.
"You yell my name like that, and you won't be leaving this station alive."
The fish man had gulped, giving him the item and Dr Elrem handing him the agreed upon amount. It was nice doing business with a low life alien. Dr Elrum getting up from his seat and looking at Mechacong.
Meitr and Excalibur had stopped at Space Station 9 on a layover. The Konatsian scientist had not found what he had sought on Earth. The planet itself was fascinating, with all sorts of flora and fauna one could study. However, Meitr was focused on increasing the strength of his Majin weapon... and his own strength as well. The past half century had wreaked havoc on his body, shriveling him up like a grape that was left out in the sun for too long. It had taken the vast majority of his power with it. His magic in particular was incredibly rusty. He could barely cast any of the spells in his Grimoire Magicka, let alone any of the Songs of Enlightenment! Having looked through the book with fresh eyes, the elderly mage learned that in order to reclaim his youth, he needed much more power than he had now. He was so single-mindedly focused on the general garnering of knowledge that he had completely neglected ensuring his own longevity and the ultimate goal of his cult; the birth of the ultimate weapon.
"Master." The gruff voice of Excalibur shook the Grand Sage out of his thoughts. "Perhaps a change of scenery is in order? If I am understanding correctly, genius minds such as yours require constant stimulation to make the most of their intellect." The Majin's suggestion was sound. That was precisely why he left that blue planet. Its atmosphere lent oneself to contentment, and that was the opposite of what the Konatsian scientist wanted. Contentment breeds laziness, and laziness breeds stagnation. And he would not be stagnant. Ultimate knowledge would be his once his power and youth were reclaimed, and he didn't care how hard he had to work to get it.
"Yes, Excalibur. I was thinking much the same." The sage's eyes turned towards an unassuming scientist and what was presumably his creation. While Meitr's expertise was more so the esoteric and occult, he could appreciate this crude attempt at creating life. Approaching the two, Meitr and Excalibur bowed politely in greeting. "Hello, dear boy. I am Meitr, Grand Sage of Konats' Cult of the Magi. This is Excalibur, my weapon and most loyal servant. I wished to approach, and let you know how impressed I am with your creation. Wherever did you find a corpse in such fresh-- if not a little bit damaged-- condition?"
The disrespect was wild as Mechacong had approached the scientist. Taking off his mask, he would show that he was Yangcong.
“I am a war criminal and my name is Yangcong.”
Normally he would destroy this being, but they were in a public place that didn’t need any commotion right now considering what Elrem had to do while on the station. He couldn’t grow a crowd.
“That is Yangcong you are talking to. The legend of Planet Plant and other things.”
If this scientist had heard of him, he would know that he was staring at a dangerous man. Dr Elrem would continue as he spoke to the man.
“That must be your creation then. A fellow scientist. In terms of where I found him, he was in the battle on plant against Amara.
Anyways I am here on business and heading to my ship now. So you can tag along and we can talk further.”
It wasn’t everyday that Elrem met a scientist that actually had strength along with his creation. Hopefully if they had like minded agendas then they would be able to get the ball rolling. Elrem would head now inside his ship and now heading to his laboratory on his ship, he had various lab equipment stuff that only a real scientist would recognize.
Meitr was not familiar with the name, Yangcong. It appeared a lot happened elsewhere in the galaxy during his long and impromptu nap. "Pardon, I feel as though I should know that name with how you two speak of him. I have been asleep for half a century at this point. It appears that I missed much while I was gone. I would love to accompany you while we speak more of it." Gesturing for Excalibur to rise from his bowed position and follow them, the two walked alongside the scientist and his creation. "I am not an expert in robotics per se, but even I can respect the amount of knowledge it must take to keep a body going on biomechanics alone. How damaged were his internal organs? Did you have to replace the whole thing? And what about his brain? I imagine that was the most difficult part. I feel that, regardless of how damaged they were, a bit of Necromancy would have served you well in that endeavor. Some fools believe that just because a body is dead, that a person is gone forever. You and I know better though, don't we?" Meitr chuckled in amusement. "You'd be surprised how a little magic can hold an otherwise destroyed cadaver together. Why, in my heyday, I had a few undead servants that were little more than bone!"
It seemed like the two scientist were rather different. One focused on machines and the other focused on magic. As he mentioned that necromancy would go along way, unfortunately the soul was gone forever and nothing could really bring back Yangcong.
“Everything had to be replaced, except for the right part of his face, eye, and parts of his brain had to be regrown with science. Took a long time to do all this. But I was able to do it. He recalls somethings but the majority of his memory is gone. Think of it like this.
Giving someone the same face and the recording of a legendary man. Feed that enough into the brain and they will start to believe they are that person. The stages of it all has gotten better. Now in terms of what you do, what exactly can you do? Can you revive a soul that has been long gone from the cosmos?”
While all this took place, Mechacong was in another room and going about his daily routine in learning more about Yangcong and his glory days. Dr Elrem continued his conversation with the man.
“I chose Yangcong, but of his extensive history with a lot of people. His reputation is so big that his army still remains loyal to him. Over 200 soldiers serve him with loyalty. They truly believe his destron project would save more lives than it would hurt. He inspired a group of people to go against the saiyans.”
Meitr listened with great interest, producing the Grimoire Magicka from his robes. The book floated in front of the mage before opening, a ghostly blue quill appearing and writing onto a blank page with sketches of Mechacong along with the information that the good doctor was providing to him. Along with this information, however, he produced an incredibly interesting question that got the mage's gears turning. Could a sufficiently powerful mage recall a soul that has left the cosmos? Meitr had never considered such a thing. He had never had to recall a soul like that. Sometimes, he didn't need to recall a soul at all. If what he needed was a mindless automaton, then any corpse would suit the purpose. Soul or not, what he required was the flesh. "How very interesting. If I had to guess, I would say no. If you wish for the corpse to maintain a sense of self, you require their soul." A grin began to form on the old man's face, though. "However... what if you were to remake the individual's soul? You may very well be on that path with Yangcong. What is our soul made of? Our personality? Our memories? Our bonds with others? All of these?" He made grand sweeping gestures with his hands, as though he were giving a lecture to a crowd of people. "If true, then all one would require to rebuild a soul would be the memories of the individual and bonds with others."
After hearing what the man had to say, the conversation became that much more interesting. Elrem Crow had his hand to his chin and looking over at the man.
“Science has shown us that one could transfer their own brain and mind to a robotic body in order to achieve immortality in a sense. With their organic brain, one could essentially live on forever. I unfortunately didn’t do that procedure on Yangcong. He died and his soul left to the afterlife. I created an android to feel like they were Yangcong. So far it’s working, they truly believe they are the legend.
If we get a body, freeze it. Their soul will be trapped here. Is there magic that can transfer memories to that being? If so, then we could have a more organic version of Yangcong. Someone who is in their prime. Someone like..”
He looked at his own reflection in the window of the ship. If the scientist were to use his own body to make it possible. Then reviving the legend would be possible. There would have to be other “volunteers” to see that this process would work.
If it didn’t work, all they did waste was the resources and time. Aside from that, he wanted to learn more about the scientist.
“You said that you had undead servants. Can I see them?”
Meitr listened to the other scientist's plan to revive Yangcong, but it required a form of magic that Meitr had not dealt with before. Though Konats was quite developed in terms of the magical arts, there were many forms of magic that those weak of mind and courage had decided are "too dangerous" to use. Preposterous. However, Meitr tended to prefer his subordinates silent and useful. Excalibur was the first servant he had that even had the ability to speak, and this wasn't even due to any intent on the Magi's part. He honestly would have preferred it if the Majin did not speak at all. The weapon must have picked up on this, because he rarely spoke when his master was in the presence of another. "I am unaware of such magic, but as I always say, the mysteries of magic are infinite, and free for discovery to those who are clever enough to find them." The mage wringed his hands together.
"I daresay there is nothing that magic cannot solve. There are others who say that magic is simply science that is not understood, and I can see where this view comes from. Men of brilliance, men like us, are who these mysteries were made for." He looked over at the other scientist.
"How about we join forces? I haven't worked alongside another scientist in ages, and collaboration can bring us far more than what we can achieve alone. With my magic and my brilliance combined with your robotics, we could very likely rule this entire universe! While other fools waste time training, we can show them a form of power that belongs only to the brilliant." Meitr was prone to delusions of grandeur, and this was his latest one. However... the two scientists together could potentially prove that Meitr's vision was not an illusion at all. Then he was asked to produce his undead servants, to which Meitr frowned.
"Unfortunately... I lack the power needed to cast the spell." Raising a body took a ton of magical power. Keeping it bound took even more. He required more strength if he was to reach his full power once again.
"I was once a tall, powerful mage with not a wrinkle on my skin if you can believe it. A fearsome power on Konats. But a holy order of Knights nearly destroyed everything we built. It would have all gone to the flames if not for my quick action. Thanks to me, I was able to save Excalibur at least."
Elrem could feel the power coming from the Excalibur and nodded. It had indeed the power similar to even mechacong’s power currently.
“The power is indeed there. I agree, joining forces would be the wise choice. I grew up with a similar situation. My tuffle people for the longest time had to survive against the Saiyans. It’s one of the reasons why we created destron gas in the first place. How do you kill a powerful enemy?
Not with brute strength but with destron gas that doesn’t care what race you are and how much power you have. Destron gas is what Yangcong’s project was all about. He created a clean version of it during his time alive and I perfected it.
The destron gas that I have perfected doesn’t harm the environment, it only harms organic beings that are humanoid in nature. So plants and all other life forms are safe. If we want to achieve greatness we have to work towards it.”
Elrem having his hand to his chin.
“If you want help in getting rid of those that did that to you. I can help with that. Finding their location won’t be a problem with my connections. I just need their names or perhaps organization. Anything will do.”
Meitr's gears were turning upon hearing of this "Destron Gas." A powerful substance that can choke the power from the powerful. In the right hands-- in their hands specifically-- such a compound could have myriad numbers of uses. "Interesting... I wonder if we can mass produce this gas on a wide scale. If we drop it on these Saiyans, then they would be entirely powerless to stop us. However, we would need some kind of innoculation against its effects if we are to take full advantage." A lovely dream to be sure. Then the scientist offered Meitr a chance to take vengeance on the Knights who did this to him.
"Well, I ensured the deaths of those who came to destroy us, but their taint is still strong on Konats. They were referred to as the Order of the Lawful Dawn. They fancied themselves protectors and warriors against evil. Feh! What nonsense. A bunch of children with swords, that's what they are. If you know where to begin looking though..." Meitr chuckled.
"I'm willing to bet they aren't half the order they once were. The idiots likely spent all of their best soldiers to destroy us. They didn't expect a comeback like the one they're about to witness." He held his hand out to Dr. Elrem in a show of friendliness that most would view as uncharacteristic of him. However, Meitr could respect an accomplished man of science, and his new friend seemed to be exactly that.
"My good doctor, I feel that this is the start of a beautiful partnership."
"Indeed it is a beautiful friendship. I know a guy who could very well help us out. He is from Konats and he is one of the leading professors in plant research over there."
Dr Elrem started to call one of his locals on Planet Konats, most renown for their history, Professor Kortin of planet Konats' history.
"Normally I wouldn't you during your busy time Kortin, but I need some information. Do you know the location of the Order of the Lawful Dawn."
Kortin raising a brow, not hearing about them for a long time he was quite shocking that anybody would even ask about them.
"As of current, they are living on Planet Ethos. It's a planet filled with magic and covered in various size temples."
"Thank you Kortin, that is all I needed to know."
Kortin nodded and before he signed out, he wanted to ask Elrem something.
"When do you plan to travel to Konats, we were suppose to discuss the new plans you had of growing my plant experiment"
Elrem wanted to avoid that conversation since he was just too busy to help him with his plant research.
"We can set something up next week."
Kortin nodded and the transmission had ended right after.
"That was fast." Meitr was surprised at how quickly he was able to find out the location of an order that he hadn't been familiar with until now. It reminded the old sage just how important it was to network with other likeminded individuals. But finally, after all this time, the Order of the Lawful Dawn would finally get what was coming to them. He would take vengeance upon these supposed do-gooders who destroy centuries of research without a second thought or a hint of remorse. His strength was far less than what it was before, however. While he hoped that they were far less powerful than they were half a century ago. he could not be sure. He would have to grow his and Excalibur's power significantly if he wanted to be absolutely certain that none could stand against them when they decided to take vengeance. That's why they had to get to the top as quickly as possible. He flipped through his grimoire some more once the notes had finished being written. He stopped on a specific page; Canton Magicka I. A Song of Enlightenment. This one would allow him to regain his youth and power if he combined it with his Saiyan DNA. How he would do that, though... he wasn't sure. But surely, the answer would reveal itself once he gained back some of his magical ability.
Planet Erhos was filled with holy knights and it was also filled with powerful wizards. Dr Elrem had the entire planet scanned before they landed.
“Computer. Scan the whole planet.”
“Scanning.. planet ethos is a planet filled with various temples. Rituals are used in some locations of the planet. Also this planet has three moons and two suns.”
Dr Elrem looking over at his friend.
“What do you suggest we do to handle these guys?”
They were now at the atmosphere of the planet. They could land anytime and go searching.
The ship now landing on the planet and the door would open up. Mechacong was now activated and he headed over to Dr Elrem.
“Be on your guard. We don’t know what we are dealing with.”
Elrem heading over to his closet, now changing his clothes and wearing a special magical spandex suit. It was created to be able to somewhat defend him from any magic that would come his way. Hopefully it would be enough since he never tested the theory.
Now walking out of the ship. He looked at his friends.
“Let’s do this I’m ready.”
The planet was filled with temples all around and short cut dark green grass. Whatever this place was, he could feel the magic.
And just like that, they were on Planet Erhos. His revenge, once an afterthought in his mind, had now been brought to the forefront. Their ilk would all die, their works destroyed, their names stricken from history like they tried to do to his own order. When asked how they should deal with them, Meitr sneered. "Brutally. They destroyed eons of work. I believe it only right and balanced if they suffer the same fate. If we find their leader, though... we leave him alive. For now. I wish for him to see what it's like to watch as everything he worked for amounts to nothing. I want him to weep that he is left alone to clean up the ashes." Just like him. "Eventually, though, I will return and finish the job. But only once the despair begins to subside and hope burgeons in its place. Then I shall rip it all away from them again, and purify their taint from the galaxy once and for all." His perfect revenge. Though intelligent, Meitr was extremely vindictive. It was a trait that he decided to keep since it held value to him. A capacity for revenge was important if one wished to disincentivize others from disturbing them. One would be far less likely to interrupt his research if they thought they may meet with a terrible fate. Once on the ground, Meitr looked around at these grand temples and monuments in disgust.
"Excalibur." The Majin stiffened up at attention, ready to receive orders. Meitr grinned maliciously.
"Eat as much as you like. But first..." He pointed to the grandest pyramid that he could see.
"Get rid of that. It's blocking my view of the skyline." With a confirming nod, Excalibur stepped forward. He raised his arm, palm aimed directly at the pyramid. In an instant, a pink blast shot out from the jet black Majin's palm, colliding with the Pyramid and reducing the entire structure to ash in a brilliant flash of light. Meitr laughed with glee. "Magnificent! That should get their attention." Indeed, many civilians began to panic, trying to get away from the area as quickly as possible. Meitr looked over at Metalcong.
"I'm quite interested as to what you can do as well."
After witnessing the destruction of what they had done to the pyramid, Mechacong nodded and began to fly to the sky as he began to fire red ki blast towards the civilization of people and buildings. Coming down like a hail of rain, would be red ki blast that would destroy the buildings and their way of life. The civilians started to scream, panic, they quickly enter into hiding which was underground. As this was happening, the knights started to show up and quickly rushing towards Mechacong, holding a shield in one hand and bashing Mechacong on the chin, causing him to stumble backwards and then quickly with their other hand they would slice his chest. Causing his circuits to be damaged and causing him to take a kneel.
Mechacong quickly grabbed the sword from the knight and held it so that their second slash attack wouldn’t try to cut him again. As they were trying to overpower him, Mechacong fired laser beams into the eyes of the knight and now the knight had dropped his sword as Mechacong was quick to grab it off the ground and quickly slice the knight’s chest easily with it.
Quickly pile driving the sword into the knight’s chest and with that same hand, firing a beam straight through the sword and through the knight’s body, leaving a hole on the backside.
Now collapsing to the ground, Mechacong looking at the other knights arriving on scene and Dr Elrem hoped that his partner had enough magic and strength to take care of this..
