❂Attention All Entrants!❂
This thread, if it exceeds more than four characters, will switch to timed responses. It does not start this way. It'll be pretty lenient, and if anything comes up, extensions can be granted. But for the sake of this somewhat important thread (for me, Chomei) these shall be the rules. Assuming we switch to timed responses, you'll have 72 hours to post from the time I alert folks of the switch.

"No way..." His disbelief leaked into his voice. The courtyard had grown a little tense as the last flurry of numbers flashed across the television screens. He'd set up a fair few, having decided to hold a 'watch party' of sorts. The villagers near to his dojo had been invited. Yogu also, naturally. Hell, even Steel had received an invitation. Most of his friends also. There were a lot of folks here, he realized, dining on all the villagers had cared to bring. Which was a lot—They were a farming community, after all. Hell, he even spotted some guys he'd never met before... Word had gotten around it looked like.
It was dark now, well after sunset; The area was fairly lit by a few dozen paper lanterns he'd hung up. It'd been fairly noisy before the last of the votes had started processing. It was a close one—He and Steel were neck and neck. To be honest, Chomei half hoped he would lose. With everything that's happened, the news of Megis's death... He hadn't become disillusioned with the idea of serving Earth. But the Majins words held a lot less weight now, knowing that he wasn't quite the good man he seemed. He wasn't confident either. Hells, he wasnt.
At least Steel seemed like he had some ideas. He could work a crowd, too. Chomei had exactly two ideas, and after that? He sighed quietly, watching the numbers increase ever higher. He'd gotten it into his head that he was responsible for the Earth. Could he really do anything though? A growing murmur had snapped him out of his thoughts. It was with a growing horror that Chomei realized he'd taken the lead. He was keeping it, actually. Outpacing Steel now. The courtyard was still now as the minutes ticked by. Eventually, the votes disappeared from view, a news anchor from Z-TV taking their place. They announced a winner.
Chomei.
Oh my gods, He thought silently. The entire area erupted into cheers and whoops, pure chaos. Gods help us all.
