The Sacred World of the Kais - a sacred place that was meant to be a place for the Shinjin to meditate, to learn, to watch over the Mortal Realms. The Shinjin were meant to watch, and never interfere - and yet, this had not been the case over these last few years. Not since the dreaded Four Horsemen had Shinjin so brazenly and offensively sought to affect the Mortal Realms. The number of Shinjin who had chosen to disobey the laws of the Kais was disturbingly many.
Phakk. Kowlin. Ward. Mergen. Fend... Including the Four Horsemen; Vale, Nidhogg, Retemed, and Cyprus, there were twenty-nine Shinjin that had chosen to become involved in the Mortal Realms in some way or form. Of those thirty, very, very few had tried to do the right thing. Vigil, a Shinjin Karach knew to be honorable, had taken it upon himself to hunt the Four Horsemen when it came to be known that one of them had been seen. Now, after investigating the places where each had been sealed away, Karach knew that all four of them had escaped their eternal prisons - and Vigil had gone missing. He no longer contacted the Shinjin of Otherworld, leading many to believe he had indeed found the Horsemen - and did not survive the encounter.
There was only one Shinjin who did not seem to fall into this pattern of interference, and that was Patience. Patience was a wise being, something that oft came with being as aged as Patience was. With Vigil's disappearance, as well as the disappearance of virtually ALL of those Shinjin who had muddled in Mortal affairs, Karach was called back from the Demon Realm. His duty of preventing evil souls from escaping Hell had failed; and now he needed to do better. Such that it was that Karach had come back to the Sacred World of the Kais - to meditate on his failure, and work to prevent it from happening further.
But, in truth, Karach knew that if anyone was to blame, it was the Four Horsemen. Only they would be so disturbingly brazen as to weaken the barriers between the Mortal Realms and Otherworld. It had to stop. There was one problem - Karach was not strong enough to face even one of the Horsemen, nevermind all four of them. That was why he is training.
Karach floats above the lightly swaying grass, legs folded in meditation and hands resting on his knees. His eyes are closed, as he went through a mental projection of himself combating the known defiant Shinjin. He felt confident in his mental projections of many of them - but there were some, such as Ward, who had become very powerful. Those projections barely needed to put in the effort to defeat Karach. After failing yet again to defeat the projection of Kowlin - a crazed Shinjin who had attacked King Yemma after his death - Karach had grown mentally strained.
Karach sighs, and settles back down on the grass. He uncrosses his legs, and falls back onto the soft grass, gazing at the multitude of moons orbiting the Sacred World. He strongly wished he could seek guidance from the Supreme Kai...
