The rumors of Yokai's island and the beast that roamed the underwater caves of that place. Many have said that those who enter the caves won't come out. Yangcong wasn't scared of no monsters and he found his way to another island called Igloo Isles. Which is a smaller island that has scuba diving equipment one can rent. Yangcong sat at the bar on Igloo Isles and heard the mystery of the island from a bartender.
A dusty old wooden peg leg captain looking human had sat at the corner of the bar. Drinking his vodka down like his taste buds had expired and consuming it like it was water. He went on and on about the island and its cave. More importantly was the monsters and how he had ultimately lost his leg just escaping. Based on these rumors, no one had ever escaped except for him. Whether he told the truth or this was a fools tale, Yangcong was still interested in the adventure. Those who did venture, had stated that treasure was within the cave and those who made it back alive would be wealthy for generations. Yangcong took up the challenge and went to the scuba diving place and rented himself the equipment. Now looking like an official member, he was ready to start his adventure.
Seated close by was Suri, relaxing with a cold sweet drink. Due to her proximity she overheard the conversation between the two presumably human fellows. A dangerous cave with a mountainous amount of treasure hidden within? Suri certainly was interested. She could bring home a big sum of money, and make her dad proud. While it was no longer Suri's only focus in life, she still wanted to do so, somewhat. If the stories about the treasure(and the amount of said treasure) really were true, that would mean there would be enough treasure for the both of them, right? And that this man may need all the help he can get...
So after paying for her drink, Suri tailed Yangcong, attempting to do so unnoticed by acting natural, keeping quiet and hiding her power. While the antisense spell may have done its job, perhaps her deliberate attempt to act natural may have alerted the man to her presense...? In any case, if all went according to plan, Suri would follow the man into the building. The Majin was unsure if she'd actually need any diving gear, and would merely give them a side glance before turning her attention to her main objective. Suri just wanted to ask Yangcong;
"H-Hey, mister? You're looking to explore that 'Yokai Island' place too, right?" She'd ask, probably after lightly tapping Yangcong on the shoulder if he stood still for it. "I-If so, I'd like to, uh... offer some help? Since it sounded pretty dangerous, monsters and all..." She'd timidly suggest.
After Yangcong had put his gear up and ready to go since he hadn't noticed the majin yet. He noticed a tap on his shoulder and he had turned to look at the person who did it. After asking all shy like, Yangcong had chuckled and lightly tapped her back.
"Of course you can, let's go."
The both of them would be sharing a boat together as Yangcong was rowing it to the center of the ocean and there destination was about one mile away from their current location. As he was rowing the boat, he would looked to his partner and smiled.
"You are the second of your kind that I have met and yet you aren't evil compared to the one I did meet. May I ask, what is your race and you guys know magic right?"
Yangcong continued to row the boat and finally after reaching the spot, he had dived into the water after hearing her response and linking communications with her via wifi and via microphone on the helmet. After swimming deep down with the use of his ki, he spotted the entrance to the cave relatively quick.
"Looks like our destination is in that cave, prepare yourself!"
Suri's attempt at stealthiness worked this time, much to the surprise of the quiet Majin. After her offer was accepted, Suri smiled, nodding before adding; W-We are splitting the treasure, right? If the legends are true, then there should be enough for the both of us...
Of course, Suri would join Yangcong on the boat, wearing a rented diving suit of her own. She decided it would still be nice to have protection against the underwater pressure, not to mention a method of communication.
Suri was eager to answer Yangcong's question, of course. "Well, I'm a Majin! We're, uh... magically created individuals, I suppose. We're a tough bunch, and we can regenerate from the harshest of wounds... Uhm, I'm not sure if all Majins can use magic, but I can. Putting on her own helmet, Suri nodded to Yangcong before they both dove in, Suri once again tailing Yangcong as they went deeper. "T-Tell me if anything breaks in your suit, okay? I might be able to fix it..." Suri said, just in case.
And once the two found the entrance to the cave, Suri set her feet down on the sea floor, taking a martial arts stance and preparing to fight if things came to it. "Alright, I'll be right next to you... Oh, here." Suri said, before focusing her energy into her palm, creating a pink, glowing orb of ki the size of a baseball. She'd then point it forward to illuminate the cave entrance.
And once the light met the cave...
For a moment, Suri could have sworn she saw dozens of gleaming, hateful eyes staring back at her inside the cave.
It seemed that majins were really strong than he had originally thought. Though the majin he had met was quite destructive and evil considering that she killed two combatants with ease. As he swam down below he noticed that she had formed a pink orb and the glowing was very strong than he could conjure up with his own ki.
"Hehe nice, you really are creative."
As they headed straight to the entrance together he had noticed a swarm of glowing eyes had stared at them. He looked at Suri and placed both his hands together as the shadowy figures had now been revealed to be gigantic size sharks that definitely weren't the default size. As they charged straight at them, Yangcong had began to fire tons of ki blast straight at them. Some of them took the hit and were instantly killed. The others however had charged so quickly and evaded most of the blast that they now were clamping down and grazing Yangcong's sleeve and kneecaps as their bite were strong but not enough to cause any serious damage. Yangcong being so mad, decided to blast a furry of ki blast straight at the remaining sharks that did choose to reveal themselves. After that was said and down, he panted to himself as he got onto the comms.
"Oh, it's nothing, reall-" Suri was cut off mid sentence as her suspicions were confirmed, and as the giant, hungry sharks made their approach! Suri propelled herself away with a kiai, narrowly avoiding being torn in half from the hips. While being underwater was making her movements rather cumbersome, Suri found it wasn't impossible to dodge, and knock out some sharks with a punch on the nose here, and a kick to the face there... Though one managed to bite Suri in the back, ripping open her oxygen tank. Suri panicked at first, elbowing that particular shark away and dealing with the rest of her bunch with a barrage of side-kicks. "Oh god, NO! I can't, I can't...! Wait..." Suri then realized she didn't need to breathe to survive. "Nevermind, I'll be fine!"
With things having died down for now, Suri nodded to Yangcong before once again providing a light source as she entered the cave first, staying wary of any more threats that might be lurking in the shadows.
The next one, however, hid in plain sight.
Their next foe attacked; A giant octopus, using its ability to change color to become nigh-indistinguishable from the cave itself. It caught Suri off-guard with a tentacle slap, sending her flying flat into a cave wall. Suri groaned in pain, before realizing something. The octopus had evaded Suri's ki sense, seemingly hiding its energy signature. Did that mean... "Watch out, mister!" Suri shouted into her comms. "It might be able to use ki!!" And just as suspected, the creature started charging up ki into each of its tentacles, preparing to fire EIGHT ki blasts simultaneously!
Yangcong's eyes had widen as her tank was now ruptured. He quickly tried to aid her but it seemed like she could survive breathing underwater. So he was thankfully glad that she had that kind of unique ability. As she dived in first into the cave an unknown enemy had approach even though it was hiding in plain sight. Its tentacles started to send ki blast all around them and Yangcong quickly aimed his hands straight at the octopus and clashed with some of the ki blast however, the amount was just too great and Yangcong had been hit a few times with the blast. As he flew straight into a wall and smoke and dust covered him. He cleaned up the glass of his scuba helmet and could see once again. He decided to return fire with a gigantic size beam and with that, he was able to injure the octopus enough to have Suri be the one to get the kill for it. As he swam straight through the entrance, he noticed some platforms just above the interior of the cave and as he rise up out of the waters, he climbed up onto the surface of the interior of the cave and taking off his helmet as he held it on his waist side. From the looks of it, the cave had its own natural light source which was glowing pink plants nearby.
"We made it!, good work."

"Mister!!" Suri shouted at the stranger as he was bombarded with said ki blasts, too distracted to realize that some of those were heading straight to her face, too! "ACK-" Was all that came from Suri's side of the comm link before it was cut, the device shattering along with Suri's helmet. Suri's head remained intact, however, and with an angered expression on her face, she retaliated by charging forward and giving her assailant a hearty roundhouse kick, which hurled the huge cephalopod into the wall opposite of Yangcong. In unison with the diving gear-clad tuffle's beam, Suri landed a second kick on the octopus's squishy head, stunning it just long enough for the final blow. Grabbing one fist with the other hand, Suri reared back before slamming it down onto the octopus monster in a sledgehammer-like fashion. The devastating shockwave emitted shook the entire cave, causing some stalactites to break off and fall from above.
The creature wasn't moving. While certainly a monstrous one to be sure(even being able to utilize ki), it seemed like it was no match for the two of them! We did it! Suri mouthed to Yangcong, before realizing her mistake and covering her mouth moments too late. Ugh, Suri grimaced, salty. She'd have to ask her dad to use a spell to clean all the seawater out, later. For now, though, their reward awaited them.
Suri coughed and wheezed, taking in a breath for the first time in a few minutes. "Finally, air! Just didn't feel right, not breathing..."
"Yeah, thanks. You too, mister... I wonder where the, uh, treasure is, though? I guess these plants are pretty facinating, but..." Suri trailed off, picking one off of the wall and inspecting it before pocketing it. She then started to walk around, trying to find a path forward. "Maybe it's deeper in, a door somewhere...? I'll look over here, could you search over there, please?"
Also P sure they don't know each other's names yet NERD
Yangcong started to help Suri search for the treasure and upon looking around, he had found something that was at the far right end of the cave. Upon closer inspect he had discovered a hidden door that looked like a cave wall. He tried kneeling down and looking at the floor and from the most part everything had looked the same, all except for a small hole just next to the wall. Sticking his hand in, he had clicked a button which had opened the door and as the cave shook momentarily, vast amounts of treasure was in there.
"Hey, looks like I have found it!"
Upon entering the room, Yangcong was hit with a beacon of light. The light had swallowed his vision and blinded him. When the light had ceased, he had a clear vision of all of the treasure before them. However he had looked around for a moment and noticed stone statues of people who were near the treasure and holding a few pieces here and there. The treasure looked to be casted with magic with turned them into the stone statues. Yangcong had looked to Suri and sighed to himself in disbelief.
"It looks like this treasure turns people to stone..."
It seemed like Suri wasn't having much luck, all she ended up doing was stare at the wall, or the pretty glowing plant life growing on it. Yangcong, on the other hand... "Oh, you did?" Suri asked, before hopping up and running over to him to see what he had found. Some kind of hidden entrance...? When Suri entered, she had to immediately close her eyes for a moment to shield herself from the sudden, much brighter light reflecting off of all the gold and jewlery laying around. But when she opened them, oh, the glow in her eyes was pretty comparable to that. "Oh my god... There's so much! We're ri...ch...?" She trailed off, having also noticed the statues, extremely lifelike. Because "They were...people." At least judging from the dark, twisted mana eminating from the stash of treasure. It seemed like their adventure had been for naught, though Suri's focus had been shifted towards all the victims of this curse. "All of them... Such a cruel fate, I-I..." Suri was unable to finish her sentence. She fell to her knees, tears also falling from her eyes. She cried for those whose fate she might have joined had it not befallen them before her.
But her tears dried eventually. Suri stood, giving the room one last glance before saying "Let's...get out of here." and turning to face the...door...
As she was crying, Yangcong was patting her back for comfort. As much as he didn't like the disaster of it all. He was use to seeing situations like this go south. His missions were proof of that and his failures as well. He looked around the room as she had called out that the door was gone.
"Darkness will always plague the world no matter where you go. But it's up to you, on what you will do against that darkness that can change it. You can be the light that gets rid of the darkness. My name is Viper and what's yours?"
He continued to walk forward and continued to look around. He spotted a pair of eyes just looking at him from the ceiling and this had caught him off guard.
Yangcong had aimed upward and fired straight at the pair of eyes and an explosion had then taken place. A body had dropped and this Oni was nothing more than 2'0ft in height and injured. Before he could move, Yangcong had planted his foot on his stomach or rather, his whole body.
"You concealed yourself poorly, your ki was just too hungry to be concealed huh? Tell me demon... are you the one who turned these people into stone?"
"Yes I did, they came here looking for greed! But they fell victim to their desires."
As Yangcong had looked now to the treasure, it was all gone. The piles of gold and all of that was just an illusion. The thing that they truly touched was a gigantic plant that covered the room itself. Its ability, was turning people into stone.
"Your going to tell me how we stop this thing."
Each passing second he didn't answer, pressure was applied to his body. This truly wasn't the situation that the demon wanted.
"S-Suri." Suri let out between sobs. She told Yangcong...'Viper' her real name, not knowing that the man had not done the same. Suri did find herself agreeing with Viper's sentiment, and it did help stop her crying a bit sooner. "...Y-You're right, I suppose." Darkness, big and small, existed in this universe, even in Suri's small portion of it. She thought of her mother's death, her bullies in highschool, and the wars and crimes she saw on the news. For the former two, Suri's father had been the contrasting light. But what of the latter? What could she do, Suri wondered.
She'd have to think more on it later, of course. Right now, they were trapped in a room...with a demon, Suri too realized. "W-Wah! How long were you..." Suri grimaced at her mistake, she had been too preoccupied to sense for any danger inside the room. "He's so...tiny." Suri couldn't help but let slip as she approached the two.
Suri kneeled down, her eyes fixated on the diminutive demon being crushed under Yangcong's foot. "Viper...don't kill him." It seemed like Suri was going to have to play the 'good cop' here. In a more soothing voice, Suri spoke, "Please, mister demon. Tell us how to turn them back. We may have been greedy, yes, but that doesn't mean we deserve to live as stone statues for all eternity...! So please, just tell us, and we'll leave you alone forever." She held the oni's tiny hand in hers, and pleaded. "Pretty please? We'll even spread rumors that the treasure was taken, so people stop bothering you. How does that sound?" Suri suggested, smiling, momentarily looking up at Yangcong to confirm if he was on-board with the idea. This did mean she was a bit distracted, though...
The soft spoken Suri had done her deed and the demon not wanting more pressure on his head decided to talk.
"Alright alright! There was never ever treasure to begin with. I made up the false tales about there being vast treasures. I led the greedy down here to stop the evil greed of money in the world. The only way to stop the plant is to destroy it."
"And where did you acquire this plant?"
"Planet Eater. It's a place filled with those creatures. The moment you touch it, you turn to stone."
Yangcong saw no legs on this creature and its lack of power level was at a measly power level of 100.
"How did you get it here without touching it?"
"The plant made an agreement with me. If I fed it more lives that it could consume. It agreed to help me in my journey to get rid of the greedy."
"That's all that was needed to be said."
Yangcong fired a gigantic ki ball straight at the beast and quickly ended its life in the process. The once stone statues were now returning back to their prior forms. They had thanked the both of them and Yangcong had let the demon go, who then had escaped with a simple magical spell which allowed him to teleport out of there.
"We did it Suri. Looks like there was never treasure here to begin with. Luckily for us, we were able to make it out in one piece. The bad news is that we are leaving empty handed i'm afraid. Good work Suri, you did good."
He brought his hand to shake hers and smiled.
"We make a pretty good team huh?"
As they stood there, the victims had eventually left after thanking them and Yangcong's journey for this quest was over.
"Hm." Suri hadn't expected the demon to spill the beans so easily. And, much to the relief of Suri, the plant's magic could be undone! Easily, too, just by destroying them. "Thank goodness..." Though, the thought of there being a whole planet of gorgon-plants made Suri shiver her timbers. "Thanks for telling us, mister demon." Suri said, releasing her grip and standing up. "Don't do something like this again, please? Making fliers, or maybe metube videos on the dangers of greed, sounds like a much more ethical way to go about it." Suri lectured the demon one last time, causing the demon to roll his eyes before he teleported away. She wished he'd have done the same for everyone else there, but oh well.
"Hm? Oh, yes. Same to you, Mr. Viper." Suri shook his hand, returning a content smile. "There may not have been any treasure, but we saved all these people..." Suri looked around at said people, all of whom she was wondering how she was going to bring out of here. "...and that's better than any treasure, in my book." The Majin said, in a more bubbly manner than usual.
...Bubbly...bubble? That was it! Suri would then expel her magic outward in the shape of a giant, transparent pink bubble, before creating an opening. Then, she yelled to everyone in the room; "H-Hey! Everyone inside this bubble! We're going to get you out of here." Once everyone(minus Yangcong, whose whereabouts I do not know) Suri exited the bubble, closing up the opening. She'd roll the bubble like a hamster ball, then carry it all the way ashore. It packed enough energy to withstand ki blasts, withstanding the water pressure would be no problem! She'd have to blast a big hole in the wall, but that wasn't an issue, with no magic plant to stop her.
Oh yeah, the plant... Suri took one last glance at the splattered remains of the plant. It had been sentient, smart enough to threaten a demon to do its bidding... Suri didn't know how to feel about that. She'd mull it over later, though. Right now, she had to get everyone out of here!
...And also worry about paying for the now-broken, diving helmet she rented.
On second thought, maybe some treasure wouldn't have been so bad.
