Dr Sizeer finally got enough funding to create her own solution to the constant break-ins from gangs and other nefarious competitors that threatened to steal their technology. She would create the ultimate security guard, infusing within them the very technology that they wanted kept safe. After two years of work and many tireless nights, her labor was finally bearing fruit. Paiyas was steadily improving the control he had over his abilities, now being able to consistently move objects from one space to another instantly through the wave of a… hand? Claw? An interesting design choice on Sizeer’s part made it look a bit nightmarish, but maybe it was meant to scare away potential thieves.
During one training exercise, Sizeer noticed that some of the items that went through the gateways came out with marks on them, or missing pieces entirely. Any food item sent through seemed to get… eaten. And a stark increase in power output was easily registered soon after. This was the last thing that Sizeer was able to note before an explosion occurred and the facility was flooded with Apollo Labs personnel. A hole was now present in the wall just outside of the testing room, and soon enough, the last of the scientists participating in Paiyas’ testing were gunned down. Paiyas looked to Sizeer for guidance but she was distracted by the brutal death of her colleagues. She could do no more than angrily stare at the important looking man who was now approaching the glass doors that separated Paiyas and the doctor from the slaughter outside.
“Hello doctor, It seems you have a new specimen. How fortunate for you, since-”
A gunshot. Paiyas looks over and sees that Dr. Sizeer seems to have brandished a gun and shot at the man. She missed. Must’ve been the tears flooding her eyes, or the sheer anger she’s feeling causing her to shake.
“I see. Kill the boy.” The man states plainly without even looking at Paiyas. Two men appear from behind him and take aim at Paiyas. Instinctively, Paiyas reaches out with his arm, but he’s slow. They take their shots before a gateway can be made. Paiyas is unharmed. He created the portal but he was much too slow for it to be what saved him. Paiyas looks up and sees Dr. Sizeer standing, bleeding, protecting him from the rain of death that surely would have done him in. All she can manage before falling is a strained whisper, “Live…” She then fell backwards, tumbling into Paiyas’ portal that he never closed.
“What a damn waste.” The important looking man pulls out his own gun this time. “I still can’t have any loose ends. Say your prayers, kid.”
Paiyas, still distraught by the disappearance of his mentor who acted as his mother, sat for a moment in silence; his portal finally closing. He started to feel… good. He felt stronger, bigger, more focused. He looks up at the man holding the gun. “Thank you… mother…” Paiyas stands up and the man takes his shot. Paiyas is no longer there. In the blink of an eye Paiyas was now in the back ranks of the militants. It didn’t take long to realize that the shrieks of pain weren’t his. One after another, the militants vanished. Many were brutalized before disappearing, as if torn apart by a beast. The only traces left behind of the militants were the bloodstains marking the concrete floor. The only two people left alive in that room were now Paiyas, and-
“What the hell are you!” The important man is now visibly shaken by the turn of events.
“The reports said you were barely able to use your abilities, much less fight! Wha-”
Paiyas, who now towered over him, used his claw-hand to choke-hold the man off the ground.
“H-ow th-e he-ll” The man struggles to break free to no avail.
Paiyas looks at him with cold eyes. “Give me your name, before you disappear forever.”
The man has a flash of fear in his eyes before he smiles in acceptance. “My name- they c-all me… Yokshel. And don’t you dare forget it. I’ll always be the one you blame for every inco-”
His monologue is cut short when Paiyas drops him, stabs him in the stomach with his claw, and shoves him into a gateway.
Paiyas takes a moment to get his bearings in the aftermath. The alarm is blaring, there are dead scientists everywhere, and the blood has turned everything red. Paiyas also notices that he’s grown a considerable amount. He was now the size of a fully grown adult human male, though he felt even bigger during the massacre. Still, he is much taller than before it started. And the rush he felt; The feeling of power flooding his system that he got after every victim was still making his head tingle. But he couldn’t stay here to enjoy it. He knew he had to leave, and the final word of Dr Sizeer echoed in his mind. “Live.” He had to live. He made a break for it through the hole in the wall before anyone else could show up and ask questions.
It didn’t take long for Paiyas to start getting hungry again. One day out and he could barely handle it. Maybe because he grew twice his size in a day and was still getting used to the changes. In any case, he needed food and normal food did not sait his appetite. He knew exactly what meal he needed.
Disappearances soon skyrocketed in the towns near where Paiyas escaped. And as much as he enjoyed a good meal, he knew that prowling around the small towns and villages near his home facility was not a stable source of food. He also wanted a place to live that didn’t include a damp Alley or a cold farm shed. So he continues to travel in search of his next meal, ever searching for a way to sait his hunger, and always chasing that high he got from devouring the militants who attacked him.

TECHNIQUES: You start with Three Standard Technique Slots and One Sparking Slot that you can use any way you like. Some species start out with additional slots, or access to certain slot-based abilities for free. You also start with two additional Utility Technique Slots.
STARTING LOADOUT:
I would like to use 15,000 of my 24,000 starting xp to buy the Bansho Fan Super Item. I would then like to purchase the Armor Lining item for 4000xp and use the last 5000xp to give Paiyas 5000 PL to start.
Ill use my 2000 zeni to purchase an attack pod for travel.

Paiyas tears gateways to use as points to grab onto and climbs through the air with his claw. Can also use momentum with gateways to fly using portal™ logic
Utility Technique || Ki Sensing
A technique that allows you to sense, measure, and differentiate the ki signatures of ki attacks and all living beings without the Anti-Sense trait. Higher ki signatures are easier to sense and can be sensed at greater distances than lower ones. This technique is passive and does not use KP.
