Thread PL: 5,000 Even having been mentally prepared for the scorching heat of a volcano, Amara was still struggling to keep up a good pace along the rocky wall she was scaling. Looking down would have revealed a drop of hundreds of feet, but luckily the woman was far more focused on continuing her climb higher and higher. The normally brownish stone turned to a sooty blackish gray as the scorching heat only continued to increase, layers of sweat rolling off her body as each breath taken was larger than the last. Her main goal for clambering up the side of a possibly active volcano? Harsh training. Amara had been rebuilding her regime up over time and where once she had been hitting sandbags she was now participating in death-defying stunts. Well, to be fair, she could fly so it wasn't like a slip or a missed handhold would mean her certain doom. Just an annoying sense of failure. The Kaiju Jungle at large was still extremely close by, the sounds of roaring dinosaurs and flapping wings not too terribly far away from her current position. If Amara didn't keep her wits sharp along the way the threat of getting tossed around by an avian was high.
"Man this is so hot!" Crotona waved as she walked up the giant tower of death. At least that what she was going to call. It was some sort of Volcano from the looks of it. She had heard a little bit about the Volcanos which sent out Magma out which turned into lava and burned things. At least that how she assumed it worked. She was not an expert on this type of stuff. Now the real question was why she decided to come here. Well, she heard it was a cool place to be. But it was hot, so that person was lying or it was some Earth lingo that went way over her head. Either way, she was not having a good time.
As she was climbing up though, she noticed some lady who seemed to be training up. What the hell was she doing in a place like this. Didn't she know it was dangerous to be up here. Training as well? If she fell into the Lava she'd probably be toast. Maybe she really enjoyed the danger that it presented. Or it could be good training. The heat and the threat of being burned would be a good way for her to keep on her toes. Crotona climbed up to meet this lady up there. She had to climb up to get to her as the Volcano had become steeper the higher she went up. "HEY!" Crotona yelled at Amara as she was climbing up. "What are you doing up here? Training I assume. It seems the worst place to be training. That my opinion of course." Maybe not the best place for small talk but she was super curious.
Powerlevel:5,000 ITS TOO HOT

Beowulf had been training under the Hare Hermit for some time now. The old pervy lady had taught him an ensemble of various techniques and tricks to use in combat, but occasionally required favors in return. Today she needed one such favor. This was why the young man found himself in a volcanic region looking for some sort of rare jewel in the fires of the mountain. Sure, it was insanely hot out, but these were the lengths to which he had to go for ole master kioshi.
The young man found himself digging through piles of soot and ash before suddenly sensing a familiar power level. If that wasn't amara's energy signature, the he didn't know who's it was. Without hesitation, he would dart into the air and fly toward the source of the signature. Surly enough, there she was, climbing to the top of the volcano. It looked like she was doing some sort of training, but he wasn't sure. There was also another energy signature in the area, one from a strange alien of some kind.
"Maybe a bad spot for you, but the perfect spot for someone like her." He would say in response to the alien. "It's been a while Amara, any luck getting that power back?" He would then turn back to the alien before asking "And who are you? What brings you all the way out here?"

"Wha-?" One of Amara's handholds crumbled suddenly, the woman's arms flailing for a moment before finding a new purchase on nearby jutted stone. Hugging her body closer to the rock wall, the Saiyan craned her head as far down as she could, trying to figure out who exactly had suddenly blipped into range of her sensing. "I'm a bit busy here lady if that wasn't already obvious. As for the training part, yeah. The heat is exactly why I'm here in the first place after all." You wouldn't get stronger by repeating the same motions without some semblance of increased difficulty as you yourself get better at it. At least, that's what she believed. Another Ki reading popped into Amara's mind, this one far more familiar than that of the strange woman below. "Yeah, no chance fuzzball. And I'm still considering your offer on seeing that hag, trust me. It isn't a decision I can come to easily." Beowulf had likely found the Hare Master by now after their little bout in the wastelands. Why then he had come this far South away from his original journey to the school was a current mystery. "And you?" She interrupted after the 'Earthling' had asked the stranger what she was doing here. "I take it this isn't a social call."
Crotona called out and that seemed to distract Amara slightly. Opps, she didn't want her to fall. "Sorry my bad!" She said even louder, not understanding that maybe she should be a bit more quiet. It was not as if Amara had struggled to hear her. Amara explained that she was hear training with the heat. That made sense but Crotona had a counter to that. "Why not a desert then. Just as hot and minus the Lava that can burn you alive." Some people, didn't really understand how to logically take things. A desert was a perfect place to train. It was exactly how she had gotten so strong. The tough lands of Konats did help breed strong warriors.
Before Crotona could explain to Amara a voice called out agreeing with Amara. "Huh?" She glanced at the white haired fellow below. He looked pretty alien, considering the hair didn't seem dyed. She didn't know anyone who would want white hair and dye their hair to get that result. On Konats, white hair was sometime seen as a bad omen. Apparently, someone related to her Father, some guy named Plato had white hair. But knew that was just a legend, no one would ever name their son Plato. It had to be one of the stupidest name anyone could come up with. Anyway, not important the two people seemed to be discussing business. Someone about gaining a power back that the gal once had. She had no idea what that meant but it was not related to her so she ignored it. Crotona began to climb up the Volcano to catch up to Amara. She might as well do training while she was here. She had nothing to lose by doing so. As for Amara question if this was just a social call, "I was heading up to explore. I'm Crotona of Konats. I crashed on this planet and now I wanna learn more about it." She said as she got closer and closer to Amara.

Beowulf would give a confused look as the woman explained exactly who she was and how she managed to get there. For having just crashed on the planet, she sure was chatty. This was especially odd, as the way Amara addressed her made him think the pair knew each other. Despite that, he was happy to hear she was still considering his offer to bring her to the pervy old lady for a tune up. If anyone could solve a problem revolving around ki, it would be master Kioshi. He could already tell that things would be rough at first. The master didn't like dealing with women, just very muscular men.
"I'm glad you're at least thinking about it, just as I asked... I'm actually doing a job for her right now, it's why I'm here. I'm suppose to bring back something called a 'Flame Ruby' from the volcano's peak. She said that it could help me master some sort of special energy wave. The signature attack of Hare School." He would cross his hands and give a sigh as the new alien would draw closer to Amara. That was probably a bad idea for the Konatsian. "Um, I suppose I can tell you a thing or two about this place. I am an earthling after all."
Amara sighed a bit as the stranger shouted apologies even louder than before, not responding quite yet as she focused on continuing her climb. The higher one went the steeper and hotter it got, making the Saiyan's progress a slow crawl compared to what she had started with. "Lava is hotter. And also most Deserts don't have the added bonus of perfectly steep crags and a jungle full of dinosaurs." To a sane person that wouldn't be a bonus at all - but Amara was a Saiyan Warrior. Not only was she likely not completely sane, to begin with, but such dangers presented an even greater opportunity. "You got an affinity for deserts or are you just not a fan of falling?" Most people couldn't fly still, after all. Amara was mostly safe in case of a slip-up. "You can probably learn more about volcanoes from the ground but do whatever suits you, lady."
Taking a miniature break upon a jutting ledge, Amara sat on the edge with a sigh, popping a bottle of water from a capsule and downing it in short order. "Do you mean blood ruby? I actually know what those are, and you won't find one here. If you didn't mishear or misspeak, then I've no idea where a flame ruby would be exactly but a volcano as you surmised would be the safest bet." She paused for a moment, head craning back to observe the stacks of smoke puffing out from the top. "Though, if it's sunk in magma you're probably out of luck. Even at your power level sticking your hand in that hot shit will not feel good at all."
Amara called out her for training at a desert because it as not as hot and it does not have the added bonus of crags or dinosaurs. Crotona puffed up turning red in the face, "Your missing the other things. Dragging your feet in the sand and the other threats." Ok so maybe the Volcano was better training spot but never underestimate the desert! She also then asked Amara noted maybe she was not a fan of falling. Crotona shook her head, "Well yah, I guess I don't like falling. But I get your point you can train where you want. If you get hurt that is on you." Crotona wanted to go cross her arms but realized she'd fall. So she kept climbing towards Amara's position.
Meanwhile Amara and Beowulf began to talk about some job he was doing. Guess they knew each other? They were trying to collect some sort of flame ruby from the volcano. "huh?" Crotona glanced as he believed by getting the ruby would somehow let him make a beam of energy? Amara claimed it was probably something else called a Blood Ruby. She believed it didn't exist in the volcano. Whatever the case she had become a sort of third wheel. That was until she noted even if it existed if it sank into the lava then there was no way to get the gem. Considering that even as strong as they were lava could still burn them pretty good. "So if it fell you gonna like dip in and try to get the gem?" She turned looking at Beowulf. This was of course even if the gem existed here.

As Amara proposed it might be a blood ruby, the white haired man would simply shake his head. "Trust me. I've heard stories about blood rubies before, not exactly the same as this thing. The technique has to do with me superheating energy between my hands, and apparently holding this ruby is suppose to help me channel that power."
The two did make a pretty good point though, if he did manage to find the gem, it was probably submerged in lava. Would he really have to reach in to pull it out? He didn't have telekinetic powers, so that was out of the question. Theoretically, he could fire a beam into the lava and maybe push it out... He would need to be at the right angle however. While the young man contemplated this, he would hear the pointy-eared alien mention the possible submersion "Well. Maybe I could try blasting it out... I don't actually have telekinetic abilities. Though there is another option. If I were to use my full power then maybe my other form would be capable of surviving the lava."
He would continue to contemplate, ignoring the argument about volcano vs desert training, as had didn't do either too often.
"I hate sand," Amara shouted down in a dull tone that suggested some form of sarcasm. "It's coarse, rough, and it gets everywhere." And was incredibly annoying to have to shake out of her low-top shoes every half hour. Some people trained barefoot to avoid such issues, but Amara was used to wearing a set of Saiyan armor so familiarity was more favorable over adaptation. "Keep on keeping on, lady. You're almost here." The ledge would be roughly big enough for the two of them with a bit of wiggle room, so Amara scooted over in anticipation of Crotona arriving soon. Beowulf had mused about using his form to retrieve the possible MacGuffin hiding in the active volcano next to them. It might work, but another thought occurred to the Saiyan. "Well, NORMAL magma or lava is still enough to injure us still. You won't instantly combust or melt as a regular person would, but direct contact could still probably burn you to the bone after long enough. And if there really is some sort of mysterious fire ruby in it, wouldn't that presumably make the lava even HOTTER than it was before?" Surely an artifact like that wouldn't have no affect on the surrounding hot shit around it.
Crotona just kept looking on confused as Beowulf claimed they were something else. Something about superheating blasts or something. She didn't get it, guess these humans were trying to learn magic and use it in combat. Magic was something she barely understood herself despite her people being well engrossed in it. Her parents were not that magically inclined. The only magic she had was the Ocarina and the dolls with the creature. But that was low to maybe mid level magic on Konats. At least in her humble opinion. Crotona then decided to ignore Amara say she hated sand, she just never been to Konats. It was awesome. It being rough, course and getting everywhere were all good things. Sure it was not good at these forests but it was much better than this Volcano where magma could drop on your head and burn you alive at any moment. Of course, he didn't expect everyone to share such a smart opinion like she had. That was just sometimes how the world worked.
Anyway, the conversation shifted to Beowulf thinking of blasting the Magma or maybe if he transformed he could survive the lava. Crotona shook her head, "The first seems the perfect way to cause an eruption. The second, I mean if it does not work you will burn to death." She could transform herself, heighting her reaction speed and durability but she was still made of flesh like every other species. And flesh burns really bad when touching Lava. It was just the way it went. Amara noted that most people won't burn right away in Magma, which was true but she also pointed out if he needed some special ruby the magma could be hotter. "That actually true as well. This could be magically Magma. Magic is not something people should be handling without lots of care. Magma is really dangerous already add magic and who knows what could happen." Crotona at this point and climbed up to get to Amara. She just gave a nod as thanks since Amara made some space for her.

Beowulf would have to agree with that statement, and was indeed rough and got everywhere, especially in his fur! He hated getting sand in his fur more than anything. While he was pretty content with trying to pick up the gemstone by hand, the two women managed to persuade him otherwise. Each agreed if he attempted something like that, his hand would likely melt from the extreme heat, regardless of his power level. That was unfortunately a real possibility. "Hmm. I suppose you two do have a point, and striking the volcano would cause a bad eruption probably... Maybe I should just focus on finding it before actually trying to extract it."
He wasn't entirely sure what a ruby like this would look like or what kind of power it would emit. Maybe he should take some time to think it over instead... Maybe there was another option however. What if he mastered the technique, without using the ruby... That could possibly work, if these two would be willing to help him train near a semi-active volcano.
"Maybe I don't actually need the ruby... Hmmm... Either of you up for a quick spar, I'd like to test out a new move of mine... Who knows, maybe it'll actually work."
"Or if not an eruption, it'd at least splash it everywhere!" Amara interrupted, calling down to the pair. "Despite looking like one lava isn't a true liquid. That shit will stick to you if you get it on your body, and that will NOT be pretty. I'm not saying don't go for the gem- aight maybe I am a little bit, but you'll need to use your brain over your brawn here. A bit shocking in our unga bunga society, I know." Ultimately trying to figure out how to nab this little sucker might be even better training than just physical conditioning. It'd be a while since Amara had a test of mental fortitude, and she didn't want that weapon to rust either. "Though I guess if you're up to spar that means you're going to try brute-forcing it," The Saiya commented dryly. "We'd probably have to get off the volcano first, and I'm dedicated to finishing my climb before I call it quits." If Crotona had kept climbing she'd likely be at Amara's level by now, the woman offering a seat on the ledge. "Hiya. Not every day I get a seat next to a cute Alien girl." Amara cracked a smile, the statement meant mostly as a joke. "You want a water or something? I packed extras."
Beowulf seemed to listen to reason and decided to not do anything stupid. Though Amara then called them down nothing that Lava was not a true liquid as it also stick to you. So it would mess you up. If they wanted to get Beowulf his gem they could not be using brute force. "Yah that's right...wait." Why was she apart of this now? She didn't mind, she would be fine going on some sort of adventure. But it seemed that was not the case as Beowulf seemed to not mind not giving up and wanted to spar instead. "I can't say I'm that strong, not sure how strong you people on Earth are on but I can always try to help." Crotona would love to help him out in some way.
Amara also decided to give up as Crotona climbed up to where Amara was. She joked it was not everyday one got to sit next to a cute alien girl. "Oh that is nice of you. I don't know if I look that cute. I mean you got that cool outfit." She pointed to Amara jacket and shirt underneath. "I got this armor on not sure that is everyone's type." She smiled at Amara, she seemed really nice. Amara then even offered some water which was an added bonus. "Yah sure it is pretty hot up here." She said glancing up at the Volcano. "You think it safe up here? Like it not gonna erupt soon right?" She imaged Amara did enough research on the Volcano to be aware of that.

So, while Amara was indeed suggesting that he shouldn't try to physically touch the lava, she also seemed to think giving up was a bad idea, as there would be no room to spar. She and the alien chick did seem to really hit if off though... He would feel strange for less than a second, but then get back on task. Finding that damn gemstone! "Alright... Maybe I shouldn't stop looking then. I guess I'll have to find it... Hmmm. I the ruby is hot, it will probably be emitting a large amount of heat..." He would think to himself aloud.
The young man would levitate to the top of the volcano and begin taking a look around. he wouldn't stand too close to the mountain, but just enough to get a good view. He could feel large amounts of heat coming from multiple directions, but needed to find the hottest. "Hmmm. I think I'm close... OH?" He would suddenly spot a large red gem of some kind on a raft of stone inside the volcano! That must have been what he was looking for. Was it really a good idea to go in and grab it though? Somehow he doubted it was... "I see it! Ha! But... Uh... There's no easy way to get to it without burning up, probably..."
