It had been by pure chance that Drathyr had located a pod that was functional enough to be repaired with a modicum of magic. It was mainly the propulsion systems that required attention, the sanctity of the airlocks was not required due to the King’s undead nature. However, it was still patched where possible, the cold of space was still unpleasant, even if the biting vacuum could do no true harm.
He had come across some co-ordinates still plugged into the decayed pod, it would suffice for his purpose, as he blasted off of the surface and scraped through the edge of the gravity well, the pod fell weightless, as it spun gently to its target’s alignment. He could only hope the planet, the coordinates and the pod would all function well enough to get him there.
Unfortunately, as the pod willfully travelled across the great starscape, The Exanimate King’s mind began to wander. It had been several cycles of life before since he had travelled through the Astral Sea, where only darkness and light persisted. He had once run out of fuel in between two planets, and he could do nothing but wait for the creeping cold to claim his soul. But Drathyr did not let that dismay him.
Namek, the green planet finally crested into his visor, and peace seemed to wash over the old soul that rattled in this imperfect form. In sharp comparison to Plant, this world seemed mostly untouched, with vast swathes of blue and green. The pod started to heat up rapidly as the atmosphere thickened, bringing the pod down hard to the ground below, the skyline turned from the fiery red of entry to the green that scattered across the sky into a pale green, a drastic contrast to most worlds he had visited previously. The blue grass raced up to meet the pod as it skidded to a halt, throwing the King against the metal wall of the pod.
The pod hissed and cracked but the shadowy purple magic of the King held it together, he stood as the door popped open, luckily it was the top of the pod where the door had found itself, allowing Drathyr to climb out cleanly.
He found themselves in the middle of a network of fields, growing foreign and familiar foods, a few green-skinned folk started to approach the pod with curiosity and fear. His armour was strange, the insignia he bore unfamiliar, and the purple glow from under the visor did not summon confidence to their hearts.
