Bump in the Night

Earth's Cities were all fairly different, although on this particular night, Flax had found herself in the East one. Earth was... Fairly plain when it came to how they named their locales, but Flax supposed it made each city relatively easy to locate, geographically. All one needed was a compass. And while the shadows raging around inside Flax's body could be sustained by draining the life forces of powerful opponents, Flax herself still required regular food and drink, so she was taking the night off, so to speak. She found herself at a scrappy little convenience store, a bottle of orange juice in one hand, and a bag of chips in the other. Not exactly the dinner of kings, but Flax had been a little tight on money ever since she'd been... "Fired" from the military.

She waited in line behind a fellow with an odd figure, then quickly had her items scanned up and paid for without exchanging a word with the cashier. As she stepped out of the store and popped open her drink, she felt the shadows inside her suddenly twitch around and gently pull her towards the other man who had just left the store. And, she had felt it, too - a brief but noticeable power spike. Flax glanced over at the man, frowned, and then sighed. "Fine, you can eat, too," she grumbled before she turned to follow him whilst taking a sip of her orange juice.

Flax popped open her bag of chips too, and began to nonchalantly eat her way through the bag as she followed the man, until he finally came to a stop at a waiting bench for a bus, which she sat herself down on the other end of and continued to eat, all the while continuing to eat her food and sip her drink. She glanced over at the man on the other end of the bench after a few moments, and then declared, "Once I finish up eating my snack, the darkness inside of me is going to lash out and consume your essence," she warned him, "So, just get ready for that. I'm almost done." She then turned and stared straight ahead at the empty street again, with the only sound that filled the road the crunching of the occasional chip between her teeth.
