Midnight strolls were a timeless wonder to the man who constantly spent much of his time brooding amongst his company of one. And even with the arrival of two unforeseen presences into his life, Calot maintained the habit of making time for himself to indulge in such pastimes in spite of such changes.
The normally humid island air slowly began its nightly shift as the sun leisurely set beneath the darkened waves of the horizon across from Calot. Cooler, drier air now swirled around the young man's figure as he breathed in a sigh of contentment. The sensation of perfect lonesomeness greeting him like an old friend as he began to make his way into the forest surrounding the perimeter of his home.
There was a certain path through the heavily wooded portions of the island that the lonesome swordsman always took whenever upon one of his nightly walks. While there never truly was a set destination during the time spent out and about, there were still certain areas and locations that Calot felt more particular toward visiting than others. Most of these areas held a common thread connecting every one of them- that being their expansive and vast nature.
Open plains specifically comprising most of those private little pieces of paradise the young man enjoyed escaping to. Other than the occasional appearance of a woodland critter here and there, Calot could spend hours of time simply musing by himself amidst the quieting cacophony of nature's ever-playing symphony. And considering the sudden paradigm shift he was currently maneuvering himself through, time to sit down and ponder on the implications of every new change was time much needed.
Finally finding an ample field to partake in his ponderous pastime, Calot surveyed the immediate area around him to ensure he would not be bothered by some random passerby- although admittedly it wouldn't surprise him at this point if it still somehow managed to happen- before sitting down in the middle of the open plain, a content sigh escaping his lips before he turned his blind eyes upwards toward the now darkened night sky.
What a whirlwind these last few weeks have been. For the last two decades, Calot was perfectly satisfied with his somewhat meager existence hidden within his former family manor's well-protected walls, and yet, fate appeared to have greater plans for him. What with sending to him the company of two new faces that brought more life and interest into his normally droller everyday routine than he had in the last couple years or so.
Part of him still couldn't believe it- in fact, part of him expected to wake up one day and see that the two were all but a figment of his deepest, darkest imaginations. But no, Ayu and Zuqetta remained, just as real as they were when he had first came across the two.
And something told him that things were bound to get just a bit more real in a few moments.
Calot may have been a blind man, but he was still highly perceptive of his surroundings, if not more so with his disability. Every sense of his was heightened in order to compensate for his main shortcoming, and when his senses of his told him something was off, the swordsman was always sensible enough to listen.
Gray eyed gaze remaining skyward, Calot called out to whoever lurked amongst the shadows, stating simply in his usual cold, unamused tone, "Attempting to approach undetected is an exercise in futility. Reveal yourself at once."
