The Dragon and the Slug (Slayg)

"What is a Namekia-?"

That was all Slayg could say before Gandigan went from a tiny little slug man... to a GIANT slug man, who was tall enough to look at Slayg in the eyes. Gandigan's power rose as his body did, rising higher and higher and higher until it dwarfed Slayg's full might like a star dwarfs a campfire's light and heat. Then, with complete nonchalance and a slow, deliberate motion, Gandigan sliced the claw of his thumb across Slayg's snout and cheek.

Slayg roared with pain and frustration, loud enough to make it seem like the world was about to come down upon the pair. Gandigan's claw met some resistance from Slayg's scales, but with a bit more pressure it sliced through. And then it cut through muscle and flesh with the ease of a well-cared-for steak knife slicing through the tender meat of a calf. There was blood, boiling hot blood that sizzled as it dropped from Slayg's face into the sea. The droplets appeared to merge with red fluid at Slayg's ankles, and slowly cooled before swirling and dissolving into the stuff that was much like blood, but not quite. Slayg did not use a proper technique, or infuse ki into his blows... but he did bite at the hand that had just sliced into him. When he did, his teeth met something that felt like unyielding stone mixed with flesh. Too hard for his fangs to pierce.

He let go. Then, Slayg pondered the why of Gandigan's actions.

"I keep being taught the lesson that you mortals are stronger now, and that your size belies inner strength that I can only unleash by growing bigger..."
