Though she did react to him speaking a second time, the teasing that he did— so she could hear him, understand him even. Maybe she didn’t react to what he said about his eyes because she couldn’t see them.
Still, thinking about it— before Zinde had shown up, one thing that Zhalla wanted to do was get the Bloodhound’s mask off, and when she tried the first time she had a bit of this wild style going already. Could that shock her back to her senses, a surprise like that? It was worth a shot!
The Bloodhound just had to fend her off a bit more before he could manage anything like that. She could probably hit him quite hard, and really quickly if she burned through more energy— which she did soon after that consideration, except it was a very literal burning of energy. Gnarly.
He stood there, almost motionless as she descended upon him, but at the last moment, the thunder and rumbling above had gone silent. A red and black glint of light sparked inside the clouds, tearing them apart as the Bloodhound’s weapon returned, expelling a powerful tornado of energy as it landed in front of its master, churning up the flames of his opponent as well as the energy of her attack.
It didn’t look like she could attack him with the levels of force that she just unleashed, so now in the wake of the storm he had called upon to defend himself, the Bloodhound commanded his helmet to retract into itself, turning into a neck-brace and padding around the back of his neck instead.
After the wind died down and the dust settled, his face was fully revealed. He had notable almost grizzly scarring on the lower left side of his jaw, and a smaller scar near the left of his hairline— but that wasn’t all, his eyes, his glistening silver eyes... They were blank too, in a way, as if they had seen horrors no one person should see— and the man himself certainly looked emotionally tired.
Despite this dreary expression on his face, he held onto some sort of confidence, something bigger that drove him, so he made a callback to their earlier conversation, something that he knew would hit her deeply. She had people to keep safe. “You’d do whatever you had to for them, wouldn’t you? You have that look in your eyes.” The look that was the same as his, and now his eyes were no longer hidden.
Bloodhound uses the [Power Pole] item, choosing the Evasive ability for 1,512,000 PL, in response to Trail Blazer.
