Slayg grinned as his guest accepted his request. He hated to use the common magic and rites and laws of mortals, but sometimes it netted results. For instance, he now had a fine meat-shield to use in his own defense. One that might take the next blow in place of his own hide...

Just to be safe, however, Slayg first reached down to grab Kassava with one of his wing hands. Then, if the Saiyan allowed him to do so, Slayg put Kassava down upon the stripe of fur on his back. Slayg's hide was boiling hot, and hard and rough.... but where the fur grew, the heat was tolerable, almost pleasantly warm. And the hair, or perhaps fur, was soft and downy.

After that, Slayg unleashed his full power. His body seemed to grow in size, suddenly... inflating and enlarging in every aspect. His belly grew wider and rounder, his neck grew longer and taller, his teeth grew grander and sharper, and the maw that held those teeth grew in size as well. His tail got longer and SLAMMED into the fields that it had only barely been touching moments before. Slayg's wings grew so wide and mighty that they completely covered the night sky, swallowing up the stars in shadow.

Slayg had just barely reached his full strength when Sen attacked. He allowed his hide to take the brunt of the damage.

Slayg uses TREMENDOUS TERROR for x5 PL! New PL: 180,000!
Slayg uses TEN-FOLD SHIELDS to absorb the damage of Sen's attack at 20% PL!

Then, he took a big puff of air in... and let it out as a spout of flame. Hot, billowing flame... hot enough to turn the dirt into glass, and the crops into charcoal, and to leave a great swathe of the land burned to ashes. It was aimed with Sen at the center.

How does one endure a hurricane? To stand in front of a natural disaster and overcome it with just their bare hands? At this moment Kassava had to answer that question himself.

He could feel the energy radiating off his opponent, a monstrous amount of ki dwelling within him and ready to release. He and his new ally were far weaker than him and it wasn't even close. Strength that even when combined didn't surpass his opponent's power level. Now that force was aimed at them.

Kassava was excited. His body straightens, his tail moving with a mind of its own, the blood pumps and his heart sings. To think just landing on a planet he'd not only meet an interesting person but also a worthy opponent to the booth, what luck! Even though he was far stronger than he was mere months ago, he could still find warriors everywhere that trumped his power effortlessly. Constantly he was being challenged, constantly he was finding things to discover, constantly he was finding reasons to live.

"Slayg!" Kassava crouches to make himself seem smaller. "If we're working together then can you draw his attention to yourself while I act as support?" It was a simple plan but Kassava had found simplicity did not mean bad. The path of victory meant working together but the best teams were only as good as their weakest link. Himself. If he didn't want his opponent immediately targeting him then he hoped Slayg could act as the appropriate shield.

Then he grimaces as he taps into that well of power deep inside it. Like a raging inferno, it came out with raw fury. He could feel his mind peeling apart layer by layer and devolving into its most primal aspects. To most food, water, a sense of community, and sex were all that was needed to life but to Kassava? Fighting was what he hungered and when his power spiked, he was in dire need of it. His hair strengthens, his pupils dilate, and his heart roars.

"Comet Rush!"

Kassava raises his right hand and a barrage of fireballs jet out. Ki flew out at dizzying speeds, trailing right behind the blast that Slayg made. The idea behind it was that regardless of whether the opponent dodged, blocked, or tanked it then right afterward they'd have to immediately contend with the surprise attack. Kassava didn't pack much of a punch but even ants could take down a lion with enough bites.

Kassava uses Wrathful 5x to amp his powerlevel to 100,000!
Kassava uses Comet Rush at 20% pl for 20,000!

The Dragon took his attack head on, and tanked it well. His power level shot up dramatically which helped a lot, and meant that if Sen wanted to be competitive here he was going to have to do the same. Despite his own unshackling, Sen could still feel that there was something off. His power was still being held back by something, and now he was beginning to feel ill in a way hat he had never felt before. What was going on right now? What had these two baboons done to him?

"You... what have you done to me? Explain yourselves now!?" What came next was a torrent of fire; both the Dragon and the Saiyan had their own variants, but the effects were the same. With flames coming in from both directions Sen had little chance of escape. The Tuffle would pull his coat around his body and crouch down, doing his best to cover as much of himself as he could while the fire washed over him.

When Sen next emerged he came up with several new burns across his body, most notably along his face. His left check was now red hot and in an immense amount of pain; there were few things that Sen disliked more than burns. "You bastard!" Despite Slayg being his initial target, it was the Saiyan that had tinged his face so he came next. Sen rushed the Saiyan down and attempted to drive an elbow into his face, before twisting around and opening suppressive fire on Slayg.

PL: 300,000 (Cursed)

90,000 vs 300,000 = 30%
20,000 vs 300,000 = 6%

Basic Tactics = 20% - 1KP - N/A = 60,000 aimed at Kassava

For the briefest of moments, Slayg considered allowing Kassava to just take "Dan's" wrath and leave himself scot-free to regenerate his energy. However, Kassava was too valuable to him in that moment, because he was the first Saiyan that was actually willing to tell Slayg how to find the land of his people. And Slayg couldn't afford to let Kassava die until he had those directions.

Plus, if "Dan" killed Kassava, then Slayg would have to fight him alone.

Slayg was a bit of a distance from Kassava and "Dan", but he was currently larger than some towns. So it was a simple matter for him to reach slam his tail down in front of "Dan" right when he aimed an elbow at Kassava's face. So, instead of Kassava taking the damage, it was Slayg...

Slayg roared with pain and annoyance as the elbow dug into his tail until something crunched, then he growled and closed his eyes as ki bullets splattered his face and neck and front. None of them pierced Slayg's hide, but they still stung whenever they hit. Slayg wound up covering his face with his wing.

"Saving your life had better be worth the bruises!"

As soon as the suppressive fire stopped, he raised a forelimb and stomped down upon Dan with enough force to make the Earth shake and to split the dirt and stone. The remains of the barn and the farmhouse collapsed nearby, and a great wave of earth rushed through the fields nearby.

The farmhands were probably all dead.

"I have done nothing to you, "Dan"... You have done this all to YOURSELF. The Sacred Laws are older than men, and not even the gods dare to break them. You bound yourself by them when you took my drink, therefore you suffer the consequences for breaking them!"

Slayg laughed a loud, rumbling laugh.

"Only one that repents for their actions and acts as a good host to the one they slighted can undo the curse!"

Slayg uses his Battle Armor to take the hit meant for Kassava at 20%, or 36,000 PL!
60,000 vs 36,000... SEN'S attack wins with 24,000 PL, or 13%, in bleedthrough for Slayg!

Kassava raises both arms in front of him, at seeing the raw concentrated power of that elbow strike coming straight at him. His body was tense and ready to take a blow he knew would bruise the next morning. It was only until the sound of a tail slithering and the crunch of scales that foretold a different event that conspired.

Kassava grinned, there was nothing like two people working together to defeat a stronger opponent that brought people together. "Heh, I'll try my best. I'll make sure to double the bruises he gets in return." Kassava quips back.

Slowly but surely while riding on the dragon's back he raises his right arm. Power flows through his being, flowing through his body and channeling directly into his arms. With Slayg blocking the attack and their opponent being exposed it gave Kassava an opportunity to land a killing blow on their opponent.

Well not killing, he didn't quite have that firepower...unless it was his ace-in-a-hole but he figured that stuff was to be used later on.

Regardless! Kassava pumps as much energy as he possibly can and fires another barrage of ki blasts at his opponent - Comet Rush. Small in scope, weak in power, not that effective they were - it didn't matter. Any amount of damage they put on their opponent would give them one step closer to victory.

Kassava uses Comet Rush at 20% pl for 20,000!

Sen's opportunity to land a finishing blow on Kassava disappeared when the Dragon got in the way and took the attack himself, which wasn't something that Sen was expecting to see. The two were committed to protecting each other so long as it benefited them in the long run, while Sen... continued to feel worse and worse. This curse... could it be real? How could he not know about this? Was it local to only Earth, or did something similar occur on Plant as well, and he had ignored it?

The Dragon attacked with a mighty stomp while Kassava rained fire down upon him. Sen was no interested in fighting an uphill battle while continuing to have his strength drained, which meant he needed to get out of here. After being juggled around by Slayg's stampede and lit up by Kassava's energy blasts Sen forced himself back up to his feet and spat. "To Hell with this! You may enjoy your lives today, but one day I'll find you again, and when I do there'll be Hell to pay for this! Curse or no curse!"

From there Sen would take off into the air, disgusted at himself for the poor performance, but knowing that he'd have his revenge.

Sen takes the damage then flees! Exit

For a brief moment, it seemed as though the battle were just getting started. Kassava was flinging bolts of energy while Slayg ran interference, using his body as both a shield and an obstacle to "Dan's" progress. Stomping, thrashing his tail, biting, slashing with claws... He could feel changes to his body as he fought. Slayg's heart began to beat faster and louder, until it echoed over the Spinach Wastes like the war-drums of a grand host. There was a rush of energy to his head, and his limbs began to feel... less burning, less tired. As if the pain and the ache that had entered Slayg's muscles had simply disappeared. Slayg's senses also changed. They did not necessarily become more sensitive, but Slayg was able to simultaneously take in more information consciously, and focus more on the minute details without losing himself in the inspection. The twitch of the muscles of "Dan's" left arm was apparent before it became a punch... but it did not distract Slayg from "Dan's" other body parts, allowing him to forsee kicks and dodges somewhat before they came. Slayg had felt these changes before, and had felt them come increasingly since he awoke, as he fought opponents at or above his strength.

And then, all of a sudden, "Dan" was fleeing. Despite his clear advantage in power, he seemed to be... cautious of something. Was it the fact that he was outnumbered? Was there some weakness that Slayg and Kassava had been close to figuring out? Or, perhaps, was "Dan" simply wary of curses and thought his under-performance was due to one?

Either way, "Dan" was gone... though Slayg did not let his senses or strength falter until he felt "Dan's" power fade over the horizon... Then Slayg let himself collapse, as his limbs all felt like they had been transmuted from flesh and bone into jelly. There was a great shake of the earth as Slayg fell, creating a quake that was felt for miles around.

"We live..."

Slayg exhaled a puff of smoke, then turned his head upon his neck to look back at Kassava.

"For now, at least. Are your hands uninjured?"

Slayg uses no technique this turn!

Kassava could still feel it. That rush. That energy. That fever that coursed through him. His body was abuzz with energy as the fight settled in, his mind going haywire with activity as he thought of plan after plan. This is what he bathes in that sensation of clashing souls and...

gone. Like dust itself, gone. No more intense passion born out of violence, out of the need to surpass others, competition. His opponent disappeared just like that out of the blue.

Kassava form snaps from ferocity and passion to subdued cheer at being snubbed so wrongly by his opponent.

"We do live don't we..." Kassava muses to himself before turning towards the dragon. Regardless of what he felt at being robbed - no, worse than that lead on by his opponent that didn't deter from the fact that he had met an excellent person when he crash-landed on Earth.

Who knew dragons could be great companions?

"They're...fine, thanks to you. I appreciate that." He offers the dragon a smile in exchange and then cocks his head to the side. "But enough about me! After all, I feel like I'm the one taking advantage of your hospitality from the greeting to the food and even you helping me in the fight. I believe I have to rectify that."

"I believe you wanted coordinates to my home planet right - and perhaps friendship is in order, eh?" Kassava waggles his eyebrows and adds a pop of cheer to his voice at the end in good jest.

Slayg decided that, on the day that he inevitably pillaged and plundered the pitiful Saiyan Kingdom and burned it to cinders, he would spare Kassava's life. The little Saiyan had proven a valuable ally. Despite his low strength, he had stood alongside Slayg to face off against a more powerful foe. Willing to fight and die simply for the thrill, and the memory of good food, good drink, and good conversation. Perhaps, Slayg thought, Kassava could even be convinced to join Slayg in destroying the kingdom of the Saiyans. From what little he had gathered, Slayg believed that the Saiyans chose their kings through trial by combat. So if Slayg killed the strongest of the Saiyans, Kassava, who would hopefully not grow powerful enough to become a threat, could swoop in and take the crown. A tributary king ruling over an entire planet...

But, such thoughts were little more than fanciful dreams at the moment.

"Yes, I do believe both of those things are in order, friend Kassava."

Slayg looked around the farm... and saw the extent of the destruction that the battle had brought. What little remained of the farmhouse had been reduced to splinters and rubble. The barn had been burned and blown to smithereens by the heat, destroying the last of the liquor. The fields were ash and dust... And if there was still a pen and a paper anywhere on the property, they had probably been buried beneath the ruins.

"But first, perhaps we should find another place to plunder. I am still quite famished, and I could do with more drink... What say we fly and see what trouble we can make before dawn?"

He reached down with the hand of his right wing, to pluck Kassava from the ground. Should Kassava have permitted it, Slayg planned to place Kassava on his back, among the long, soft fur that ran down his spine. After that, Slayg flapped his wings with the force of a hurricane, blowing away all the remaining bodies and evidence of the battle, and slowly lifted himself into the air. Once he was high enough, he began to glide... searching for a suitable farmstead. Somewhere that had just harvested a bumper crop, with animals in the barn...

SLAYG is leaving the thread, and taking KASSAVA with him (Kassava permitting)!

Kassava decided that Slayg was alright in his books and someone he'd declare a good friend - and someone he'd fight to the death with. Some would go bug-eyed at the admission of thinking someone was a friend after what, 20 minutes of meeting them? Especially something as weird looking as a dragon?

But Kassava was the type of guy to out of the blue leave his home world crash land on a different planet, meet an underworld arctic lizard who was hell bent on becoming emperor, and decide to become his bodyguard. Also become his friend.

Kassava had a really weird group of friends, adding one more wouldn't be difficult. Also, they ate, talked, and fought with each other. It basically meant they were brother-in-arms at this point.

At least in his book and frankly? That was the only one that counted.

Kassava smile broadens at the hand and openly accepts it. Letting himself get pulled up like a child all the while laughing. "Well, I am never the type to turn down more food and drinks! I accept your offer Slayg, show me what Earth's like. On one of my brochures, I heard you guys had actual chocolate fountains you dip stuff into maybe we can find one of them on the farm..."

As Kassava rambles he thinks to himself that Earth wasn't a half bad option after all.
