GENERAL INFORMATION
NAME: "Cogito" - Disembodied mind phenomena (one of the accepted terms for beings of this sort, no name self-assigned)
ALIASES: Lost to time
AGE: Immeasurable
GENDER: Undocumented
SPECIES: Oni
LIFE LEECH
When you have dealt 60%/80%/150% Cumulative damage to an enemy, upon the enemy being KO'd/wounded/killed in the same split/thread, you regain 1(60%)/2(80%)/3(150%) KP & MP. This effect caps at 2 if the enemy is at or below 80% of your PL, and caps at 1 if the enemy is at or below 60% of your PL.
OTHERWORLD TRAINING
You may use multiple Offensive techniques in a single post, to a maximum of three. This is usable twice per thread, and will only work with Standard Techniques. You can also post freely in the Otherworld boards even if you are not dead. In addition, once per month, you may travel instantaneously from one planet to another with up to 5 others.
DEMONIC MIGHT
While in your strongest available form, you may activate 10% MP Power Boosts on all of your Attack Techniques for free. This halts your momentum regeneration for that turn. However, you may not use any Power or Ki Boosts on defensive techniques with your MP in your strongest available form.
GENERAL TRAITS:
MIMICRY
Once per thread, if a standard or support technique has been used by another character in your thread, you may use that technique as if it was your own. Does not apply to Sparking or Merging Techniques and does not carry over to future threads.
RAW TALENT
Twice per thread, when using a Non-Heavy Standard technique, you may gain an additional 1 MP.
STARTING PLANET: Outer Space
HOME REGION: N/A
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE: A writhing mass of some unknown matter constantly shifting in state and colour as it tries to hold itself together, almost painful to look at for some as their eyes might struggle to focus on the vague shapes constantly moving around its “surface”.
BACKGROUND: In an age few could recall, there existed less form and more… concepts of form. While this strange and brief window of time likely birthed many of the early universe’s first examples of life, many ideas were left behind to drift in the ever-expanding void of an early universe.
One of those bits of lost potential was in a way a… precursor to consciousness, the concept of something that could think without a vessel to contain it. It was… aware of this in a way, though lacking the context and concepts to explain itself, all it could do was exist.
After a truly immense stretch of time, in defiance of its lonely fate, its path happened to cross with the orbit of a planet containing some early civilisation blessed by the Kais above. To be in such close proximity to other minds for the first time in its existence was an… indescribable experience, and in a desperate desire to hold on to the sensation it began to pull at the forms of the objects it sensed until something came loose and was pulled into itself. An overwhelming burst of sensations unfamiliar to it filled every crevasse of its mind as it was paralysed to do anything but view the memory in its totality. As it repeatedly peeled back the layers in an attempt to understand the concepts held within, the energy composing its being began to bulge and shift as it was given the loosest knowledge of form.
Though disorientating in every sense of the word, it was filled with a new feeling. A hunger for what else this existence could show it, what else could it learn?
So it pulled at another, and another, ripping out the thoughts, feelings, everything it could from anything that wandered too close while barely allowing itself time to digest the stream of information being poured into it. Eventually this period was brought to an end as the people it was besieging developed a means of banishing the thought-beast and it was pushed far back into the depths of space from whence it came.
Sensing the containers had vanished it settled back into a sense of calm, instead choosing to examine the countless thoughts buzzing and coursing through its insides. Despite being again left to drift for a countless number of years it was much… harder to concentrate on each memory than it had with the first. With so many new ideas fighting for its attention it could barely focus on one for more than a moment, only gaining the briefest understanding of the concepts showcased before its mind erratically flickered between countless others.
But... perhaps if it could find more to add to itself it could find another way to fill these gaps in its knowledge...
The “feedings” continued as it happened to come into contact with other beings, although every piece it took in an attempt to understand itself only confounded its efforts. Lacking in the ability to self-reflect it continued to push on, its own thoughts slowly being reduced to baser instinct as its sense of self was subsumed by the countless shreds it took from others...
...Though a system like this could only continue for so long. Having long given in to mindless hunger and repeatedly taking from both civilians and those who sought to contain such a disruption to the natural order, it began to slow down. Its form starting to convulse as it struggled to contain the mental energy it had accumulated since the dawn of creation. In perhaps the only act of conscious thought it had displayed in a while, it attempted to fold inwards, to force order on the chaos that had been building up inside- though such an effort was made far too late as for the lack of a better description it burst.
Parts of the body it had slowly built were flung deep into space with the memories that constructed them as the main mass slumped and melted away as the last dregs of its sentience shattered… eventually it would find the means to move itself again, though with much less purpose than before. Though the hunger that started this journey would still linger…

COMBAT INFORMATION
TECHNIQUES:
Light Offensive || AgnosiaADDITIONAL NOTES: Asking to have their starting form renamed to "Lapse" please
A semisolid tendril emerges from somewhere within its mass and attempts to ensnare a nearby being. While lacking much physical force, its mere presence is enough to disorientate and scramble the minds of whoever is unlucky enough to come into contact with it.
Power: 40%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants:
Light Defensive || Retrograde
The constantly shifting state of their body sometimes causes attacks to simply... phase through. Should a person figure this out firsthand, the vaguely sticky sensation of something pressing against their mind and body and constant unintelligible whispering, buzzing noises will likely make the experience... less than pleasant.
Power: 60%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: Evasive
Light Defensive || Anterograde
When the energy piercing their form is simply too much to avoid, it may not always land correctly either. Their shifting properties seem to redirect the energy of the blow taken and mitigate its effects.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: Shield
Medium Offensive || Transience (10k)
Vaguely able to process some sort of resistance to its efforts at satiating its ceaseless hunger, their efforts to tear away at the psyche become more forceful in nature. Parts of their form surge outwards and attempt to envelop an individual before suffocating them physically and with an intense mental pressure that may leave a lasting sense of disorientation.
Power: 60%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Exhausting
Medium Defensive || Confabulation (20k)
A powerful blow causes them to regurgitate a sticky mess of… something containing a memory from a species long gone. It floats erratically without a target in mind, but should it strike it tends to either fry the target’s brain as they’re overwhelmed by incomprehensible thoughts from something far removed from their own brain patterns or literally fry them as the energy fizzes and splatters against whatever passes for their skin.
Power: 60%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Reflective
Heavy Sparking || Cerebral Collapse
Something desperate takes hold as their form begins to thrash around and distort much more wildly than normal. The gaseous parts of its body permeate the surroundings and fill the air with an immense psychic pressure as its attempts to rip free the thoughts within become much more violent in nature.
Power: 150%
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: Quake
Utility Technique || Mind's Eye
Lacking the traditional senses, they instead detect the presence of others by detecting the energy given off by their brainwaves or equivalent neurological processes. Somehow the mechanisms behind Antisense inhibit their ability in a similar fashion to how ki would be detected by others.
Utility Technique || Mnemophagia
It instinctively attempts to pull anything it can from the minds of those around it to add to itself. From deeply cherished memories to random urges and impulses, those unable to resist the constant psychic pressure will more than likely end up losing parts of their memory as they become lost to a sea of thought composed of countless others who met the same fate while they are left with the vague sensation of something slipping from their grasp.
