What was I doing again? (OPEN to 1 + Invite)

Coming back from Master Kuren’s house appropriately dubbed “Tsuru House”, Wryce was on his way back to his house, ready to do whatever he had to do. Having no particular obligations at this time probably meant he’d go for a training session, following the recommendation of his master. Apparently, the old man found his pupil to be lacking diligence in his training, therefore, after a proper scolding, he sent him back with a kick to the ass and the order to pick up the slack as fast as possible.

With that in mind, the Earthling found the determination to get back into the heat of things and not let himself be distracted by laziness or a cute alien girlfriend. As he was flying, an object coming at high-speed almost made contact with the fighter who barely had the time to react and catch the thing, softening the impact as much as possible.

To his surprise, he found a chicken, still very much alive though probably traumatized and missing quite a few feathers. Just who or what had chucked the poor thing so fast? Sensing the energy around, he landed, leaving the meal-to-be to its intense clucking, and went in direction of the energy.

It wouldn’t be too long until he met with a strange purple person, their hair seemingly part of their skin. He had seen their kind before and much like Earthlings, they came in all shapes in sizes. This one, however, had something weird about them…something he couldn’t quite put his finger on.

“Hey there, chicken tosser! Everything okay? What are you doing in an empty field like that? Need a way out? Might be better than throwing poultry around, don’t’cha think?”

Wryce looked with surprise at the weird alien girl, mouth full of flowers. Few things left him without words in general. However, people with seemingly random behavior often left him with a strange, uncanny feeling, as if he simply couldn’t comprehend them and the workings of their brain.

He watched, dumbfounded, the stomach inflate after swallowing the flowers, then, with an even weirder punch to the said stomach, Wryce watched it deflate, with a belch that shook the entire land around.

After the initial weirdness, he was asked about a man, with white hair, big ears…and what was that about shadow puppets? Better not even ask. Still, ruining someone’s crops was definitely not a good way to find that guy.

“Never seen that guy, that could be pretty much anyone. Though, I’d say trampling someone’s fields isn’t the best way to look around, is it?”

He did have a problem with what she was doing, however, was also aware that getting on her bad side would end up in problems. At the very least, she looked like the type to act upon impulse.

“Who are you, by the way? Never seen your type around. Much less seen people throw chickens for the heck of it and eat flowers. My name’s Wryce.”

The situation took a turn for…well maybe not the worst but it sure was strange. As a display of their might, the unnamed Majin popped her own shadow out of the ground, made it dance then…

“Hey cut it out! You’re making it do that, aren’t you?” he replied after being offered several obscene gestures by the..thing. “Besides, I’m no physicist, but I’m pretty certain that’s now how shadows are supposed to work. So yeah, whatever trick you’re making it do, it could be anyone.”

That should shut her up good! Though it was the first time the human had seen anything of the sort. He had heard of magic users from master Kuren, without ever meeting one of them. Maybe she was one of those? Wryce held his chin while contemplating the possibility, but he was immediately cut short by the rudeness of the flower-eater.

“Hmm, I guess that’s fair…” The way she said it, though, made him frown a little. She really was an ass, wasn’t she? Just because of a few parlor tricks even. Better just leave her… Waaiit a minute. Just who was she? Challenging him like that, alluding to her beating him and then giving him a reward? That frown of his turned into a smirk, with a small vein on his forehead popping out. Aggravated by the situation, Wryce had stopped thinking about the flower, about where he was. She was looking for a fight and, although good in nature, the human wouldn’t let her trample over his pride just like that. In effect, he had taken the bait fully.

“How about I just show you whether I’m strong or not? Hmm? Don’t worry, I’ll make you spit it out. Your name, that is.”

Wryce initiated the fight almost immediately, showing off with a grandiose somersault, extending one leg further out and dropping it towards the Majin, delivering an ax kick right to her head. Usually, martial arts was all about self-control and respect. However, when mocked and insulted, Wryce just couldn’t let it slide, could he? After all, it was her who instigated the fight.
