BACKGROUND: Some are born great, and others have greatness thrust upon them. If you ask Meitr, he belongs to the latter group. Born into a cult of Konatsian wizards called the “Cult of the Magi”, which made its home beneath the city of Dharatan this group worshiped the force of magic itself, believing it was a sentient being that granted power to those who appeased it… In order to appease “The Great Magicka,” you had only two options according to the cabal; by growing your magical abilities in the hopes that The Great Magicka notices you and grants you power or knowledge, or by sacrificing souls and distilling them into pure magic. Meitr was born into the cult as a lowly Acolyte, but he was shown to show a devotion to the craft unlike few the cult has seen.
Meitr was more than willing to go through any sort of pain or suffering if it meant understanding the forces of magic better. Many would perform all manner of dangerous rituals for the chance of gaining a modicum of magical power, while Meitr was cutting his skull open and experimenting with casting enchantments and injecting elixirs directly into his brain, and using dark and ancient magic to give himself extra fingers to better trace his magical glyphs, and enabling him to cast spells that require two hands with only one. Through his experimentation with the cells of other creatures, he even gave himself some of their traits. For example, by splicing his own DNA with the DNA of a Saiyan warrior, he was made naturally stronger and faster, and allowed himself to stay in his peak physical prime until he was nearing the end of his life. His intense dedication was realized when the Magi Council named him the Grand Sage after the death of their former leader. He was given the great Grimoire Magicka, the cult’s holy book. More than just a collection of the cult’s teachings, it was a magical grimoire of great and terrible power. Centuries of magic had been recorded by the many Grand Magi the cult had seen over the years, and one included a recipe for an all-powerful super warrior; a Majin.
The recipe in the book required mortal souls, and so the cult set to work to gather what they needed to form their mightiest weapon, their Excalibur. It was at this point that Meitr modified himself again with gene splicing, adding Majin DNA to his body to give himself a Majin's rubbery, nigh indestructible body and incredibly long life. However, Meitr miscalculated with all of this experimentation, and what he did to attain the souls required to build his weapon would spell the cult's undoing. The cult’s survival had always been dependent on subterfuge and secrecy. Meitr had delusions of grandeur, and so kidnapped the old, the sick, and the young off the streets. He thought they would not be missed. He was wrong. Raiding their compound, a holy order of Konatsian knights began to slay the cultists. Meitr ordered everyone to hold them off while he secured the weapon, rushing to the vaults to see to the failsafe plan. As the Grand Magi entered, he entered a sarcophagus after tripping a trap, collapsing the entirety of the compound and entombing himself, the rest of the cult, and the knights underground... and so it would remain for the next five decades.
After fifty years, the weapon’s incubation was complete, and it awakened. This event also awoke the Grand Magi, who now has the goal of pumping up Excalibur to full power.

x4: Arkana Empowered: A black aura of magic envelops Meitr has he channels the magic of his grimoire, empowering himself and all of his spells. The grimoire floats in the air and appears to move independently of its master. (Starter)
x6: High Magick: Meitr's grimoire transmogrifies into a magical scepter and a sword, which the Grand Sage wields in each hand. He is capable of casting spells from both weapons, and the two can move and strike with a mind of their own. The black aura around his body intensifies, becoming tinged in purple and taking on a malevolent feeling. (50,000 PL)
x16: Majin Magi: Using a combination of rage and his great reserves of magic, Meitr becomes capable of reclaiming the power of his youth. His flesh becomes tighter and his wrinkles vanish, he grows from his usual 4'9" to a little over 6 feet tall. His shriveled, frail muscles enlarge, filled with strength and vigor and his pupils turn a bright gold to match the golden energy that surrounds him. Beyond just the reclamation of his youth, Meitr also becomes more Majin-like in appearance, gaining a mouthful of sharp teeth and losing what little hair he has left, gaining a long head tentacle that reaches down below his waist in addition to the trademark steam holes along his head, shoulders, and arms. His grimoire transforms into a belt with the stylized Majin "M" on it and glows gold with the Magi's energy. (150,000 PL)
x28: Majin Magi 2: As the previous transformation, but his skin changes from pink to jet black, his eyes becoming two luminous pools of golden light. Tribal markings appear on his skin, glowing with golden energy. (200,000 PL)
x34: Majin Magi Beyond: As the previous transformation, but he loses his head tentacle and gains a long mess of golden hair similar in appearance to a Super Saiyan 3. His muscles also grow and he grows in height by a full foot and a half, his teeth growing to give him two saber-like canines. (300,000 PL)
x44: Majin Magi God: In a complete reversal of his previous transformation, Meitr's Majin Magi God form shrinks his muscles until they appear cut and lean, his height dropping to just under six feet tall. His head tentacle returns and the long hair vanishes, his teeth also returning to normal. He essentially looks very similar to his initial Majin Maji transformation, except much more lean and his pupils do not turn gold like with that transformation. Instead, they turn blood red along with his aura, which takes on a calm quality and moves like a still body of water that was disturbed with a single stone, the energy rippling outwards from the Sage's body. Meitr may activate Nova Magicka at the very start of his post, increasing the power of all of his techniques by +10% while active. Unlike most techniques of its type, it does not drain MP and allows Meitr to gain up to +1 MP per post. However, he cannot use evasive or escape techs, block escapes, or intercept attacks meant for others. Meitr can only turn it off at the end of a post, at the end his second post after activation at the earliest. If he runs out of MP, he loses Nova Magicka's effects at the end of his post and cannot gain any MP on his next turn.

Meitr’s grimoire begins to float as he chants a magical incantation. Once the grimoire opens, the souls of those unfortunate souls who died to utilize its spells are summoned forth as a throng of dark spirits that swarm the target, chasing them down relentlessly until they can leech their power from them in the mistaken belief that this will give them the power to live again.
