APPEARANCE: Xiaolan is a lithe, androgynous vulpine characterized by his white fur tipped red at the level of his eyebrows, ears and tail. He keeps his eyes constantly narrowed down to slits, never opening them enough to reveal their jade-colored irises. This fluorescent neon green coloration is also present across his tongue and blood vessels, a peculiarity that earned him the “jade-blooded” moniker.
Xiaolan’s favorite getup is a revealing fishnet tank top and tight-fitting latex pants worn under a deep V-neck qipao whose outlines are trimmed lime green. The foxy hitman also sports a patterned Papayan conical hat made from an unknown metal, as well as a small black fabric mantle around his neck. To top it all off with some jewelry, his outer right ear got two large golden rings hanging from it.
BACKGROUND: Xiaolan is an Earthling who looks just like a normal vulpine Anthropomorph, but his appearance proves to be deceiving. In truth, Xiaolan is a jade-blooded kitsune yokai, one of these elusive Monster-type Earthlings representing less than 1% of Earth's population. Born on Papaya Island with a heart predisposed to evil, much of Xiaolan's character was heavily influenced by the rich martial arts culture of his homeland.
Xiaolan’s signature fighting style is the "Way of the Void", the fruit of many youthful years dedicated to the fervent analysis of every martial arts contest held on his native island. Inspired by the graceful movements and intricate techniques of noteworthy contestants, the talented fox was quick to impose himself as a swift and precise assassin-for-hire across the Southern Tropics.
However, unlike some ruthless colleagues who kill only for financial gain or pleasure, Xiaolan has a certain sense of professionalism, a code of conduct which he rigorously adheres to. Indeed, killing is just a job to Xiaolan and emotions do not enter into it. He must be calm and collected at all times, focused on the contract until it is either completed or aborted; innocent victims are not the trademark of a disciplined assassin.
When he is not busy with his disreputable profession, Xiaolan idles away in the Papayan jungle where he trains and hunts bare-handed. The jade-blooded assassin finds solace in the quietness of nature, and he takes great pride in being a kitsune yokai who only feeds on the souls of animals and those marked for death.
Nowadays associated with the Triad, an international crime syndicate, Xiaolan has been spending some time abroad fulfilling contracts and satisfying his own desire to face worthy foes in casual battles.
