Suspicious Surprises

By far Nasu’s eyes could witness pretty much what was going on around the area. It was dark and desolate, nothing more other than that, there was likely meant to be something more for someone who had been raised on Plant and had about his age or more, but likely given the fact Nasu was relatively a sprout on this world, in the end all Nasu saw was architecture that had not changed all that much. Given the fact the Saiyans pretty much stole their city from the Tuffles, and the Tuffles, well, it was pretty much the same he would get to see elsewhere.

So, nothing truly amazing to explore. If there was treasure or anything else, sure that would be exciting but without a premise, there was not much else to truly do here. However he did get to catch another individual, well, catch perhaps would not be the exact term; at best it would be the other way around since apparently she had already prepared her blaster. Nasu could not see her with his eyes just yet, but of course since she did not really do anything to hide her energy, he was not impressed.

“Hey kid.”

He did not really care to antagonize her much when she called him Cheri’s favorite Saiyan, while that was probably true, given a multitude of factors, in the end he did not really care in the way anyone addressed him. Unless it was offensive, of course. He just called her out, in a relatively calm tone, given he had not been successfully spooked. And while he was still looking over the ruins a little closer to glance if there was anything interesting, he cut his gaze back around where her energy source was.

“My current errand is satisfying my own curiosity as to how this place is suddenly sparkling clean. How, and who did it is rather more interesting… Perhaps we could repeat this process in other regions. I was pretty sure it was overrun by that selfsame gas you breathed not too long ago. Speaking of which, how have you been? I have not seen you since that day.”

Nasu waited quietly. Of course the man did consider a possible assault at any moment now, the two were not on the greatest terms neither of the last few times they had met, whether that was because of the context and the entire situation that had been unfolded to him by Vocado… he did not know, but the man despite being a diehard on justice, goodness and all that stuff, most importantly he was overall just a guy with strength that chose to carry a sword for the sake of others.

He was not going to start a fight just because… just like back then with Kamae when he shared one steak with the villain before apparently that guy retired to do his own thing, given the fact that Nasu did not hear a single new thing about him.

And that was Kamae. Someone that had done things ten times worse than Cato may have ever done before. At least as far as Nasu knew, therefore he had no tension, malice or whatsoever, he was calm, even in this endless darkness that enveloped the area.

“At least you are okay. I trust you are privy to what happened not too long ago, then. What a strange day. Taori has him in custody now… and I am not too sure what he intends to do with him, but he won their duel and thus I will not inquire any further. Besides, I intend not to focus too much on the politics of this world anymore. They do not suit me.”

Nasu breathed out loudly and glanced around when he heard the name. Of course he knew Yatapi, he was a cool guy and Nasu was quite happy with the result he had done, but of course that reminded him.

“Right. Yatapi… He agreed to help with the restoration of Sadala. I had almost forgotten.”

He sighed to himself, it was quite a weak one, he did not seem to display too much of a dramatic tone.

“I think I have reached the point where I have too much on my plate as of late. There is only so much time, and so few people are actually willing to help with a project as large as that.”

Of course Nasu was still interested in the project, but… realistically it was going nowhere for now, and he had no practical way to speed it up. Not to mention he could no longer make it a priority now that he had to work hard as a mentor.

Nasu agreed that in the end Destron was not difficult to cleanse, but there were many risks involving perhaps those that would not see it cleansed, otherwise he believed this would have already been attempted all over the planet. As for Destron in general, well, there was not much anyone could do about it. No one could just wipe out a type of weapon from the face of the galaxy, who knew how many people had access to the ways of fabricating it, not to speak of eventual trades and whatnot.

“That is impossible. At this point it is like saying I am going off on a journey to completely destroy all the swords and blacksmiths until no one is left to make them… or no one knows how to. Of course they are very different weapons, but you see the point; you can not just return to the days before Destron existed. That was why I understood Lottus’ point of view, but also why I did not agree with him… beyond the ethics of his ways. You would have to find some cosmic magic power to make sure everybody forgets about Destron, sadly fairy tales are not as real as Super Saiyans, apparently.”

But that dreadful day had been a mess, overall. No matter one’s point of view on it.

“Well, what about you? What have you been biding your time for?”

Cato did not know much about the project, which was to be expected since in the end it was privy to a selected group of people, mostly people that could actually contribute and some Saiyans. Of course there was a point to all of it.

“Yes. One of Cheri’s initiatives that I also chose to assist with.”

He commented shortly, and eventually just found himself a pile of rubble he could sit on whilst he talked over to the fellow Saiyan, with both arms folded over his steel bust armor. The man could vaguely remember plenty of the people that he had approached, but even now he wondered if perhaps the project was even going on still outside of his own part which was small but still relevant nonetheless.

“The point of it all was mostly a campaign to calm down some of the hatred between the people. Both Tuffles and Saiyans would work together to restore Sadala. Poetic. We did not actually expect the Saiyans or anyone for the matter to just move over. But I assume with all that has been going on, it is probably on hold… and should the elections replace Cheri, who knows if the plan will not just be discarded whatsoever.”

It was a point very similar to the one she would make shortly after, when it came to destron. Of course he knew that could potentially happen, but nevertheless he did not seem to care. Nasu hoped to at least see this planet better off by the time he would finally die, even if the span of his own life was not something he could truly predict given his dragonian roots.

“I doubt anyone will allow that to happen now. So we should be safe in that regard.”

Nasu briefly nodded. She was going off to the Kingdom, which again he did not doubt; was she not one of their members to begin with? He was not really sure, ultimately he did not exactly have any reason not to trust Taori… but the man knew better.

“Fair. I think some people were worried about you, after that stunt of yours. I hope you guys do a better job than the last couple of monarchs I have witnessed. I am not much for kingdoms… or any organization to begin with, despite many believing I am on the Tuffles’ side, that is not quite what I am. For now I will just wander and fight alongside my friends. As childish as that might sound.”

Nasu huffed briefly and just pushed himself up eventually.

“I am too old and too busy to play soldier for anyone or have big ambitions. Otherwise I would have gone for the throne myself.”

The man eventually floated up out of thin air and gestured over to Cato.

“But you said the kingdom needs good warriors, right? How about we have a quick bout then. I am curious to see how good of a warrior you are.”
