GENERAL INFORMATION
NAME: Maesi
ALIASES: N/A
AGE: 24
GENDER: Female (She/Her)
COMPANION TYPE: Minion
SPECIES: Tuffle | Strategist / Salvage / Itty Bitty
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE: Maesi is relatively tall for a tuffle, standing at about four and a half feet, with an athletic build. She wears a simple suit of battle armour with a blue, black, and white colour scheme. She carries a satchel of tools and gadgets over one arm, and occasionally a simple side-arm of some sort: either a ray gun or an energy rifle. She also has a pair of goggles, though most of the time they're worn up on her head, used to keep the messy blonde hair out of her eyes.
[art pending]
BACKGROUND: Maesi spent most of her life living under the shadow of the war with the Saiyans, far from the safety of Hatchi City. She knew that at any moment, the sirens might sound to signal a raid--even during tentative ceasefires. Throughout her youth she posted excellent grades, especially in the sciences. Accordingly, her parents had designs to send her away to the academy in Hatchi City, to study sciences and pursue a civilian career track. However, she had no interest in continuing her education, and she especially had no interest in being a civilian for her whole life. Not while the war with the Saiyans seemed a never-ending threat.
Despite their protests, she signed on as a common soldier the day after her eighteenth birthday, and was quickly assigned to one of the most active hotspots on the front. She served with distinction there for the first couple of years, and quickly rose through the ranks: partially due to merit, and partially due to the high combat losses suffered by her regiment. Eventually, she became a leading combat engineer in her outfit, responsible for everything from constructing defenses to demolitions.
Maesi did well in her newfound role, and was eventually promoted to Chief of Operations for the outfit. She was young for the role, but after twenty years of war--who wasn't? She excelled at first, but as the war continued to grind to a near-stalemate, she began to hatch a plan with her commanding officer: to tunnel beneath the Saiyan lines and emit a false signature. The battle that would ensue would go on to be known as the Collapse of Citra Prime.
The signature, capable of fooling monitoring stations across the planet, warned the Saiyans of a massive build-up of Tuffle troops in that sector. The result was a number of Saiyan squads being pulled from their own places in the line to fall upon that one point in the sector. The result was a desperate defensive battle which saw heavy casualties for Maesi's unit, which had nowhere near the numbers the false signature claimed. The outpost, Citra Prime, was eventually completely overrun at great loss to the Tuffles. In return, other Tuffle units were able to overrun weakened Saiyan positions and envelope them, leading to a decisive overall victory on a front that had seemed nearly static for weeks.
Since then, Maesi has had a mixed reputation. Some celebrated the victory, labelling her a hero for orchestrating a late Tuffle victory over a battle-hardened Saiyan force. Others have condemned her for sacrificing an important manned outpost, and for refusing to make use of Tuffle superweapons such as Destron, which could have saved Tuffle lives from the onslaught.
Her reputation amongst the Saiyans is similarly mixed. Some resent the trick and the subsequent loss of so many powerful warriors, while others grudgingly respect her for winning a 'clean' victory late in the war. Others still consider her place in the victory to be overstated, given that the military forces themselves were commanded by a proper officer, and her role in the battle after conceiving of the false signature was confined to the defense of the outpost: the one concrete loss on the Tuffle side.
Whatever the case may be, the war is over--and Maesi's reputation, however mixed, is hardly important. She has since been put on semi-permanent leave from the Tuffle's security forces at her own request, and has instead focused on trying to find a place for her in this new and strange peace. That eventually found her looking for work in the Mercenary Outpost, and finding something she hadn't expected: friendship with a Saiyan who could very much use the assistance of a war-ready engineer.

COMBAT INFORMATION
TECHNIQUES:
Light Offensive || Ray GunADDITIONAL NOTES: No transformation! 500 PL.
Maesi fires a blast from her side-arm, charged to maximum effect. The battery drains rapidly when being operated in this way.
Power: 40%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: N/A
Heavy Offense || Energy Blast
Maesi fires a blast from her energy rifle, charged to maximum effect. The rifle can only handle a blast of this magnitude once every few minutes, making it an inefficient use of the battery pack.
Power: 100%
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: N/A
Chief of Operations
Maesi is exceptional at working with various machines, gadgets, and weaponry. If something is fixable, there's a good chance she'll be able to fix it. She might have to take a few short-cuts or ignore some safety regulations if she can't get the right parts, but it usually turns out for the best.
Sensor Spoofing
During her fending off [or conducting] raids on Plant, Maesi learned to fool energy detectors and monitoring stations. With the right access, she can hack sensors to display things that aren't really there--and in some cases, hide things that are. This is usually only useful against static monitoring stations such as space stations or outposts. Individual sensors, such as Scouters, are generally immune save for certain outdated models. [In other words, only non-mechanical scouters used by NPCs!]
