Cotton Candy

Another jolt connected. Despite the fact that Jyushin had had his eyes closed, Sagan had fully expected Jyushin to somehow sense the attack coming and catch his fist or something. But no. It had become fully apparent to Sagan by now that Jyushin was only halfway focused on the fight. What could he have been thinking about that was so important?

It had appeared, though, that that last attack pulled Jyushin back into the fight. The being complimented Sagan, albeit backhandedly. Sagan knew not to let his guard down, despite the fact that he'd objectively been able to get off more meaningful trikes than Jyushin had at this point in the battle. Jyushin was still talking as confidently as ever. No surprises there, though. From the short amount of time they'd been fighting thus far, Sagan had by now gathered that Jyushin was much more durable than the average fighter. He could definitely take a hit or two. 

Sagan's eyes widened a bit, though, as he realized that Jyushin's face had contorted into a smile, and his body now engulfed Sagan's fist, leaving him stuck. That wasn't good.

Sagan struggled to get his fist free in time, but it was too late, and Jyushin sent a pair of ki beams straight into his face. The power was enough to send Sagan back, tumbling through the air. He caught himself, and clutched his now steaming face in pain. That one was probably going to leave a mark.

Sagan straightened himself out. It was clear to him that things were starting to get a bit more serious. That was fine. It was time to see what he could really do. "For the record, I wasn't trying to poison you." Sagan said. He decided he would clear things up before things heated up any further, which they definitely would. He doubted Jyushin would believe him. "For some reason, I doubt the concept of brain freeze exists wherever the hell you come from." Sagan said, patting himself off.

"Now that we've gotten that out of the way...let's see what you're really made of. And try not to fall asleep this time." Sagan taunted, taking a defensive stance in anticipation.

Sagan, by now, had grown quite tired of Jyushin's bravado. He'd also grown fairly tired of his apparent new nickname. "Devour me? I'd like to see you try." Sagan retorted, keeping his defensive stance. If Jyushin rushed him, this time he would be ready, unlike what happened just minutes prior on the ground below them. A few moments passed, with Jyushin continuing to mutter stuff beneath his breath. Whatever. Sagan would be ready for whatever tricks he had in store next.

Suddenly, Jyushin vanished. Sagan braced himself for only a few brief moments before Jyushin reappeared before him, and immediately got to attacking him. Just like he'd told himself, Sagan was more prepared this time. He blocked the first hit, then dodged the second hit. Soon he was, once again, mixing in a couple of attacks of his own. Jyushin was fast, that was not in question. But as the fight went on, Sagan began to notice a particular subtlety about eh way that Jyushin was fighting. Something was...missing. Every other attack came in the form of a chop, as if Jyushin was used to fighting with a sword or something. Sagan took note of that. 

If it wasn't broken, Sagan didn't feel the need to fix it. He saw an opening, and sidestepped around to Jyushin, aiming a charged chop straight for his back. There wasn't enough strength in the chop to send Jyushin flying, but Sagan hoped that the electricity would do a solid bit of damage.

Sagan wasn't able to connect this time, and instead his attack was stopped by some kind of barrier or force field, pushing him back a bit. Assuming it was just some sort of quick defensive maneuver, Sagan got back, and prepared for the next attack. Instead, though, Jyushin sat down in the dome and started to mutter again, as if he was praying. "What is this, some kind of trick?" Sagan asked. It only took a few moments of this going on for Sagan to decide he'd had enough of it. He didn't know whether Jyushin was actually planning something this time around, or if he had just gotten lost in thought once again. Regardless, Sagan wasn't really too keen to sit around and find out, especially if it was the former. 

"You can't hide in that thing forever!" Sagan said, clearly agitated at this point. He jumped back and shot a couple of ki-blasts towards the dome, which seemed to have no affect. Frustrated, he dashed towards the barrier and began to pound on it in a flurry of punches and kicks. Nothing seemed to be working. It seemed as though he would have to apply a bit more force. He charged up another Jolt into his fist, and slammed it into the barrier with all his might.

Sagan was finally able to break through the barrier that Jyushin had set, and enough force went into his attack that he went flying through the barrier straight into Jyushin's face. Sagan thought that perhaps he'd finally put some real damage onto Jyushin by now, and he lingered for a moment, remaining in his punching positions. It seemed, though, that Sagan's attacks weren't doing too much in the way of effective damage, as Jyushin's head was sent flying back in an unnatural motion, but he continued his chants. 

Sagan drew his fist back, as Jyushin continued to chant. The Earthling would jump back, once more creating enough space for him to think and consider his next move. "This guys indestructible..." Sagan muttered to himself. He put his hand to his chin in a thinking position, as he pondered what to do. How was he supposed to teach Jyushin a lesson if none of his attacks were affecting Jyushin?

Sagan came to a conclusion. He didn't know what sort of attack Jyushin was charging up, but he figured if he was going to strike with all his might, he ought to do it now while Jyushin was seemingly distracted.

"Alright. I'm gonna have to give this all I've got!" Sagan decided. He raised his right hand to the sky, preparing an attack of his own. A dark storm cloud started to form far over Jyushin's head...

Sagan kept his hand lifted in the air, as he continued to conjure the the storm above. The cloud continued to grow, and Sagan struggled to keep the power contained, as bolts of electricity would strike all around the two fighters. Just a bit longer... Sagan thought to himself, assuming that he would be able to get his attack off before Jyushin got off his own. 

It seemed as though Sagan was a bit too late to begin, though, and Jyushin rose to his feet. His attack was now fully prepared. Jyushin started to inform Sagan that his final moments were upon him. Dammnit...out of time... Sagan thought to himself. Sagan brought his hands down to his chest, in a guarding position. The cloud above continued to rumble and erupt, but, at this point, Sagan had to protect himself, and anticipate Jyushin's actual attack. Sagan took a step back, and before he was even able to see it coming, Jyushin had zoomed past him. For only a moment, it seemed as though Jyushin had missed, and Sagan looked down at his chest, but before he was able to say or do anything, he erupted in an explosion of ki. 

The dust would settle to reveal Sagan laying down on the ground on his stomach. The attack had succeeded. "Damn you...you'll regret that..." Sagan said through groans of pain, as he slowly rose to his knees, clutching his stomach, that had been sliced with blinding proficiency. 

Sagan slowly rose to his feet, still hunched over in pain. Blood dripped from the newly formed gash across his abdomen. He wasn't expecting the blinding speed and accuracy that he'd been hit with. Nonetheless, his own attack was ready. It was time for him to strike back. "I'm...still alive...Jyushin. Now...It's my turn..." Sagan said, straining. He rose his hand to the sky once more. 

"The name of this technique...is Oblivion. Feel the wrath...of Raijin himself!" Sagan shouted, angrily. He lowered his hand, and within moments, a huge beam-like bolt of electricity shot down from the cloud to smite Jyushin. The storm clouds would begin to dissipate after the attack was finished.

Sagan breathed heavily as his attack finished and it seemed as though he'd completely vaporized Jyushin. He clutched his abdomen, and blood covered his hand as he did so. He was still surprised that he was able to survive Jyushin's attack in the first place, let alone be conscious enough to still pull off Oblivion. What started off as a petty misunderstanding had led to him being beaten within an inch of his life. He had no idea how much he had left within him to continue fighting, so it was a bit of a relief that his attack actually worked. 

Sagan turned and started to stumble away. He was definitely going to need medical attention as soon as possible.

Sagan stopped dead in his tracks. A ki presence flashed across his mind from behind him. His eyes widened, and he spun around, watching in awe and shock at what was unfolding. It seemed as though Jyushin was reforming. Sagan, almost entirely out of energy at this point, was basically unable to do anything. "But how...everything I had...!" Sagan said, weakly. It seemed as though the battle was far from over.

Jyushin had fully reformed by now, and accused Sagan of being a poisoner, before lunging at him with a ferocious string of attacks once more. Sagan, now greatly injured, did his best to keep up. "For the last time...I didn't poison you!" Sagan said, angrily. This was starting to get bad...

A moment of hesitation due to fatigue led to Jyushin landing a blow straight to Sagan's face. The blow sent Sagan back into a back hand spring, in order to create a bit of distance. Sagan spat a bit of blood onto the ground.

"You damn ronin...there's something I've been meaning to ask. You're insanely powerful...that much is true. But somethings missing. Are you usually stronger than this?" Sagan asked through heavy breaths.
