CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
PERSONALITY: Shiku bears herself as an efficient fighter and representative example of her clan, placing great importance on manners and etiquette. She developed a shrewd instinct for where to invest her time and how to form alliances, business or personal. As such, she would never harm a guest of hers, or allow them to be harmed. To most humans and other “non-threatening” beings, she leans towards a modest, mature friendliness. But to Saiyans and other entities she considers dangerous, this changes to a hostile caution, to put up a strong front and isolate herself.
Shiku prides herself as a keeper of secrets, and values truth despite how little she offers it herself. She lives and breathes in the shadows. Shiku isn't even her real name; it's just her favorite in a long list of aliases. When alone, or in the company of trusted friends, she drops her emotional barriers and shows her true colors: Shiku can be surprisingly childish and is unusually emotive among friends.
BACKGROUND: There are four distinct phases to Shiku’s life, and each of them are defined by a different name. First, she was born as Hiretsu, daughter of a minor clan of psychics on her homeworld, Hera. Her parents knew they were bringing children into an imperfect world, one with many problems and where it could be easy to feel hopeless, and they wanted their offspring to grow into people who would reject cynicism and work to make things better. In Hiretsu's clan, it was okay to feel scared and insecure, but never to give up.
Hiretsu’s parents wanted her to grow up strong in mind and body, a fine example of the their clan, and while both endeavored to spend as much time with her as possible, she never got to know her parents particularly well before they were killed in the increasing unrest on Hera, another set of casualties to be jotted down on a dotted list and filed away.
She quickly learned that to survive, one had to never show their true self, or show any kind of weakness. She changed her name to Arehate, and as a teenager, with nothing left for her on Hera, she joined a group of mercenaries that took her off-world.
While some of the mercenaries she worked with were genuinely good men and women fighting to protect their people and improve the world, just as many others were corrupt, or greedy, or hypocritical pirates. Just as many were only interested in lording their power over those who had none. There were so many people with such great power in the galaxy, and Hera's problems only continued to get worse. The culture seemed completely antithetical to the ideals of her family, in her mind, and the more she looked at the galaxy the more corrupt it felt.
Eventually, she broke. She developed a gloomy, pessimistic outlook despite her best efforts. What followed was a long and bloody criminal career as she offered her services to whatever pirate gang would have her, succumbing completely to her darker impulses and giving up on making any meaningful change. She was just trying to get by. If the world was going to be unfair, then she wouldn't play fair either. She made a new name for herself, this time going by the name Hidoi.
This was the name that she was best known for, that which had the greatest success.
And that was years ago now.
Years pass. A woman reflects on the bloody gash she's carved in the side of the galaxy, on the person she was born as, on the person she became. She had formed no meaningful friendships, left no positive impact on even a single life in many years. A woman decides it's not too late to start over. She changes her name one last time and slips into a quiet life on a quiet planet, where she has no loftier ambition than to live the rest of her life in contemplation. Developing discipline, self-respect and the inner strength necessary to stand up for what’s right in a world where it was so much easier to be callous and cynical were critical.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE: Even for the naturally-tall Herans, Shiku is distinctly long-legged at 6'7", and stands a head and shoulders above most others. With a lean, athletic build, Shiku has very little in the way of shapely curve but makes up for it in athletic muscle thanks to a long history of fighting. Broad shoulders, narrow hips, and a generally masculine build, Shiku doesn't seem to particularly mind not meeting the standard interpretation of feminine beauty. Her skin is deep cerulean with a warm indigo undertone which darkens when spent under the rays of the sun, which is something that Shiku does frequently and happily. Her thick orange hair doesn't really require much in the way of care once shaken into proper style.
A studious individual and naturally-gifted warrior, Shiku remains highly devoted to her training. She does not show off needlessly, however, and does not launch so readily into pointless brawls. She's a stubborn individual who prefers to convey her intent through actions rather than words. Shiku never seems to state her full intentions with clarity unless doing so at the end of a weapon. Once she has made up her mind, she does not allow other opinions to dissuade her. While she is cynical about any sort of "justice" in the world, she has a strong sense of what's right and what's wrong.
Shiku greatly enjoys games of skill and chance in her free time, believing that such skills cultivate good judgment and keen perception. While work is usually the first thing on her to-do list, she believes hobbies are a good way to keep oneself on task, motivated and stress-free. An overworked warrior fights poorly, after all.

But ambition is a stubborn thing, and there's some part of her that wouldn't ever really be satisfied with quietly disappearing.
She'd rather burn out than fade away.

Medium Offensive || Burning Attack || Starting Technique
Shiku grabs the opponent's attention and makes a big show of preparing for some kind of ultimate attack. Power: 30%
KP Cost: 3 KP
Variants: Overflowing
Medium Offensive || Psycho Spark|| 24,000 Milestone Technique
Shiku cups her palms together so that they overlap, draws a psychic energy string between herself and her opponent not unlike the Psycho Thread technique. Power: 70%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: N/A
Medium SPARKING Offensive || Hyper Psycho Thread || Starting Technique
A staple technique of the Hera clan. Shiku gestures with her hands, and from her palm she materializes a razor-thin string of psychic energy, which constrict an opponent and seal their power.
