CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE: Drawn by my gf Strawberry, who plays Lettuch/now Shiku!
BACKGROUND:
Arashi knew what her career was to be from an early age, and to a certain extent, the same perhaps went for knowledge of what her eventual fate was to be—space pirates, after all, live free but die young. This knowledge stemmed from a sort of personal experience: both parents were in the business. Her mother and father weren’t exactly a committed couple, however, and Arashi herself had most certainly not been in the cards for either of them. Thus, when the pretense dropped and the two split, an infant Arashi was left in the awkward care of her father, who hadn’t the foggiest clue what he was to do and couldn’t get by for long without a share of loot—space pirates, after all, live free but stay poor.
She was essentially raised by the entire domestic team within the crew her father operated with for much of her childhood, something that taught her independence quite early… Alongside a good sense of when to duck and a bitter dislike of subservience. Once she was able to take care of herself and join the raids proper, she and her father merely drifted ever further apart over time, leaving her with a bitterness she’d never been equipped to handle—space pirates, after all, live free but never share, and this extends to one’s feelings just as much as it does one’s loot.
Some few years later, when all this was behind her and her teens were nearing their end, she (near literally) jumped ship entirely and went off in search of a different crew to fly with. A nerve-wracking prospect, that—but one she’d only have to do once. For it was in an inconspicuous corner in a decidedly mediocre dive on Hera that Arashi encountered a fellow by the name of Fuka, who explained that he happened to represent a then up-and-coming crew dubbed the ‘Star Shooters’ by one Captain Kirai, one that needed skilled crewmates. She’d snorted at the name, but she ended up signing on once she’d heard about the group’s prospects, for the Shooters’ name was gold-gilded amidst its meteoric rise. The group was well-funded and locally popular, and that made it perfect.
It was here that Arashi cut her teeth proper, quite frequently going up against the well-equipped trade vessels of the Arcosian expanse at the edge of the main routes. She managed to keep her head on as time rolled by, though she earned herself a scar her and there, until the Captain felt her mettle was proven and gave her a shot at leading a squad of three. They were Surei, Kyoko, and Sagishi, and Arashi would remember these names just as well as the faces they belonged to… Though in time, this wouldn’t prove to be for a happy reason. For the day eventually came when one (or many) trade overseers had had enough of the endless stream of hits to their coffers, and when the Star Shooters struck at a mercantile vessel seemingly like any other in the cover of an asteroid belt, twin mercenary cruisers roared to life from their discrete positions behind debris, firing weapons of great caliber from either side, the hammer-and-anvil nature of the attack lending them a swift and decisive victory.
The pirates were slain down to the last man once their scuttled vessels were boarded, and Arashi only survived by playing dead amidst bodies, but only after being beamed in the side. Persisting past this, however, required waiting for the mercs to leave the scuttled ships for dead, and then dragging herself to one of the precious few escape pods aboard that remained uncompromised. She was left to jettison off to a backwater world, empty-handed and very much alone.
…That was years ago now.
Such a near-death experience was enough to get Arashi to do an about-face on what had essentially been her entire reason to be, though in the end she’s been far happier for it. For when she eventually reemerged from obscurity, it was with a new and lofty vision: retake the future of Hera. Turn it away from its path of destruction, one of ever-increasing crime and corruption. Make it so no further Herans would live so short a life just to die. Such a task would require power, however, in strength of body and will alike. She’d need support, and lots of it… And given the nature of her goal, she’d have to get it from outside of Hera.
Thus, she now acts as a sort of mere wanderer, at least to the eyes of others. Each and every action she takes, however, is a step towards reestablishing herself, towards making powerful friends… And someday, towards returning to Hera and setting things right.

COMBAT INFORMATION
TECHNIQUES:
Light Offensive || Psycho Thread (starter)
A staple technique of Heran marauders all across the galaxy. Arashi forms thin, razor-sharp wires of Ki, which can sap a foe's energy and slice clean through skin in equal measure on contact.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: Bleed
Medium Offensive || Aura Slash (starter)
By gathering her energy and pouring it into her blade, Arashi can deliver a sword-stroke that cuts clean through even powerful defenses like a hot knife through butter.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Piercing
Light Defensive || Vital Jump (starter)
One moment Arashi is there, the next she isn't. Through a curious manipulation of Ki, she performs a short-range teleport as a means of evasion.
Power: 60%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: Evasive
Heavy SPARKING Offensive || Hyper Aura Slash (starter)
An evolution of the Aura Slash. Arashi's spirit emanates off of her in spades, forming a continuous Aura Barrier around her, all while an even more potent energy is conveyed into her blade. This becomes so extensive that, once the sword is swung, a grand slash of expanding energy is released, equal in power to two Aura Slashes combined.
Power: 100%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Back-Up Plan
Utility Technique || Flight (starter)
Via the power of Ki, Arashi can defy the laws of physics and fly without wings.
Utility Technique || Ki Sensing (starter)
The energy of near all living things can be detected by those who know what they're looking for. Arashi is one such person.
Light Offensive || Aether Bullet (8k slot)
A lightning-quick shock of energy shot from the palm. Atypical of Ki attacks, it strikes with a blunt, physical force, similar to being hit with a tiny shockwave.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 1 KP
Variants: N/A
Medium Defensive || Aura Barrier (16k slot)
Arashi's aura becomes solid as a rock and burning hot, able to absorb even rather powerful attacks outright. All remaining energy can then be delivered to the opponent by simply ramming straight into them, frequently alongside a flashy combo.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 4 KP
Variants: Reflective
Light Offensive || Aether Arrow (24k slot)
Essentially an upscaled Aether Bullet, the Aether Arrow is delivered via a sword stab into open space, the resulting Ki that pulses off the blade forming a solid projectile of the same shape.
Power: 40%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: N/A
Support Technique || MAX Power (Granted by Thirst for Battle)
An innate gift of the Heran people. Arashi can use her full might with efficiency far greater than the norm.
Utility Technique || Ki Suppression (Ki for Dummies)
By constraining her Ki deep within, Arashi can both hide her power and reduce it as needed.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Requesting to rename "Anger Point" to "Base Form" out the gate, but that's all!
STARTING LOADOUT: 24,000 XP into PL and 1,500 Zeni into a Ki for Dummies, leaving 500.
COMPANION APPLICATION: N/A
