BACKGROUND
The reason for Mochi’s creation isn’t a complicated one. Her mother was a demoness, a powerful succubus, who fell madly in love with a Majin warrior. And vice versa - how did it happen? Well, nor Heaven or Hell seems to know. The abyss could not hold such a pair of passionate lovers - though they were either deeply in love with each other or fighting so fiercely that the Demon Realm was shaking in its foundations. Their intense and full of emotions relationship wasn’t exactly stable… Nobody’s perfect, right? In a better moment of their ever-changing marriage, they agreed that they would like to have children - so where other means didn’t work they used good, old-fashioned magic. And in the same way, Anko the Succubus and Senbei the Majin Warrior with the use of their essences, magic and some very ancient dark spells, created three cute kids.
Yokan was born first, the one who looked the most like their mother - an ambitious, witty and cold-natured lady. She decided to be the most powerful being in the Demon Realm, practicing magic and forbidden dark arts at every waking hour. Okaki was the youngest, born two decades later, the only boy among the three of them. He was laid back as their father and loved fighting, a light pink Majin teenager who enjoyed a good sparring session and a nap in the middle of nowhere.
Mochi was the middle child.
A female Majin with average height and very prominent curves. A bit of a chubby soft body got a healthy purple shade, bluish blush on her cheeks and a handful of shoulder-length tentacles on the head resembling hair. She wasn’t that different from others of her race but since her birth Mochi was growing up in a loving home. Her childhood was made priceless by doting parents, a cute younger brother and older sister that she looked up to. If only mum and dad could stop their fights… Each time they were angry at each other, Senbei would take Okaki with him for a training trip and they were gone for months. Mum was often busy too but she always had time for Mochi! Though not as much as she would like. Yokan surrounded herself with powerful magicians, was studying magic all day long and often scoffed at Mochi for not trying to achieve anything bigger or greater. Maybe those times weren’t as great as she remembered but she loved her family dearly and never thought badly about them, trying to support them in any way she could.
Unfortunately, Mochi did not inherit her mother’s talent for magic nor her father’s knack for martial arts. Being hopeless at punching and kicking and flunking the easiest magic spell, she had to find a different area of expertise - the other two were already occupied by her siblings. She closed herself in her room, reading novels, pondering and musing about her reason of existance. It wasn’t so easy but it came naturally, with time… It turned out that Mochi was great at cooking, oh and baking sweets too! Seemingly mundane activities like cleaning, doing laundry and keeping the house organized became her hobby, something that she was able to excel at. Soon enough she was proudly taking care of their little manor, making favorite treats for her siblings and looking for new things she would be good at.
It wasn’t exactly a talent, perhaps it was a side she inherited from Anko, her mother - but since Mochi became a teenager she had a mild obsession with romance. Oh, the hand-holding, the love letters she saw in shows, the subtle glances that people exchanged with each other…Every free moment she had, Mochi spent on reading harlequins, romance novels from various parts of the universe - everything she read was so interesting and touching… Love was truly amazing! She sobbed while watching soap operas and movies, weeping with delight each time she saw a love confession on the screen. With a flushed face she would glue her eyes to the tv during intense scenes, only to hide her face in the pillow and giggle while rolling on the bed. Earth surely made quality content and her mum would often bring her new books as souvenirs each time she had some business in the living world. Mochi would read everything, then she would find herself laying on her bed lost in thought… How would that feel, to be in love? Her heart skipped a beat at that thought. Maybe not like her parents. She loved seeing them affectionate with each other but their fights were often breaking her heart - it wasn’t the ideal relationship. To be, just, in love like her favorite books and shows portrayed. A feeling so strong, deep and burning it would defy authorities or make a miracle or even revive someone from death! That was possible, the last series from her favorite author said so, so it must be true. Mochi began to daydream how it would be to have someone, a Prince or Princess Charming, the better half, the beloved partner…
She decided. She was going to find her Love!
Easier said than done. Mochi was always flirty by nature and she tended to get crushes a lot but with that declaration in mind, she started taking actions. Paying more attention to her clothes and appearance, she decided to practically shower the unexpecting person - the one that at that very moment was making her heart beat the fastest - with love and affection. The results - varied. It turned out that sudden hugs, smooches and clinging to their arms wasn’t approved by her love interests. But how come? People seemed to like that on the screen… She tried her best at being open, baking treats, giving small gifts, joining them in their activities and yet… The more she was pouring her heart to be there and show that she cares - the harder she was pushed away. Maybe she was too excited and was trying too hard… Often she would brush away the negative words, trying to be cheerful and kept on going but the effect was even worse.
Each time she was told off this way, hearing that she’s a ditzy, clingy and creepy airhead and the person she liked only wished to be left alone… It was hard. Mochi would back off, later sobbing in her room with ice cream and a jar of chocolate spread, wondering what she did wrong. Does she not understand love that well? She has read so much about it. Everything checked out though, didn’t it? She did similar things as the characters in her favorite book series, it shouldn’t end like that. And yet it did - and she got her hopes high and now was weeping heartbroken and watching sad movies while wrapped in a fluffy pink blanket.
As tearful as it was, Mochi was always a resilient girl. It didn’t take her long to bounce right back! Week or two later, Mochi shook off all the sadness and grim thoughts, and decided to try again!
So, almost instantly, she did fall in love once more. And she was rejected again.
And again.
And again.
And again…
Well, it didn’t stop her, that’s for sure! A stubborn bundle of energy, she decided to not give up - that just wasn’t like her. Mochi was adamant about her resolve even if she had her fair share of eaten ice cream and being heartbroken… Yokan, in her usual sisterly manner, mocked that her ambition was focused only on finding a relationship - but mum said that it was perfectly alright to have a dream like that. She stroked Mochi’s head, telling her that the time will come and she will find who or what she is looking for. That was reassuring and helped her to keep on going. Each time she fell, she was only gaining more confidence to try even harder! … And the results of her convictions here varied again.
Either way, life was more or less peaceful. Mochi was taking care of the house and meals while family members were doing their jobs. In the meantime she was looking for new hobbies or was planning new dates by faithfully studying the newest soap operas from Earth. She had to keep up with the trends!
One of those days, when Mochi was looking around the manor for a misplaced recipe book, she entered Anko’s study. Because her mother was such a brilliant magic user, the place was filled with old heavy tomes, funny-looking artifacts, scrolls and many, many other things. There was no chance that the book was there, right? Maybe it was Yokan who grabbed her cooking notes by mistake? While searching Mochi noticed an open scroll laying on the table and a word caught her eyes. Tilting her head, she leaned over the yellow paper and read out loud - Irasschiyu? Mochi giggled, thinking that it sounded funny, a second too late noticing that the writing on the scroll lit up with a pale blue glow. She only blinked when the floor under her feet decided to stop existing and something pulled her down with a great force. Light flashed in front of her eyes and suddenly…
She found herself wriggling her way out of the bushes. Standing up and dusting her clothes, Mochi looked around. This place was unfamiliar but yet it was not - she saw similar views so many times on her tv screens. It was a pleasant, warm forest, birds were chirping and the sun rays were bright and warm… The Majin that was raised in Demon Realm could only wonder why her mother’s spell activated like that.
Somehow she ended up on Earth.
Oh, this is going to be excting~!
COMBAT INFORMATION
TECHNIQUESSaving Technique slots for later because Mochi is so hopeless at fighting and magic she can only start with Utility Techniques!
Utility Technique || Inner Charm
Because she was made from her mother’s - a succubus - essence, Mochi’s level of magic pheromones is quite high. Mochi herself has no idea about this passive skill - she only knows that she’s cute. Any person that has attraction for females might find themselves in some way charmed by her - but of course that varies from person to person.
Players can use this however they please, finding her appealing more or less or simply ignoring this skill if that matches their characters - after all, it’s a matter of preferences.
Utility Technique || Magic Materialization
Mochi might not be the best magic user ever but she obviously practiced a lot to master this skill. Well, master might be a little far fetched but she’s able to create simple objects like notebooks, frying pan, bandana, anything she would need at the moment.
Conjuring larger objects takes more time and Ki and sometimes they do not come out the way Mochi intended - but this skill is passive and does not use any KP.
Utility Technique || Flight - From Ki for Dummies Guidebook
After quite some time - and very long training sessions - Mochi finally learned how to fly and can now freely soar through the skies.
More or less, she’s still a bit slow but she’s certainly getting there!
