|| Budoshi’s PL: 8,000 ||
As part of a quest to learn from many masters and develop their warrior strength, Budoshi had decided to check out what the Orin Temple was all about. He had been told that it was once a home to powerful and wise monks a long while ago.
It was kind of sad by comparison now, mostly preserved as some sort of tourist attraction. Budoshi watched as the few genuine practitioners of the Orin Temple style remained, doing as their predecessors had done. There was potential here— it could be much better than this, and Budoshi knew this in his heart of hearts.
There were a few interested onlookers and newbies following along as best as they could with what the monks and martial artists were doing. Budoshi analyzed the gaps and flaws in the motions that some of these people were making, even the actual practitioners of the style. Envisioning it in his mind, Budoshi thought about how parts of his own style could fill these gaps, some of the other styles he had practiced— or even the style he had first been taught and long since mastered? A smile emerged on his face as he thought about the options, near infinite variations that brought his passion out as his aura lit up softly around him. “There’s definitely something here...”
One of the older monks that was watching over the younger ones noticed Budoshi, and walked on over to him. “Hello there, I see that you are perhaps inspired?” Budoshi looked over to the elder monk. “Actually, yeah!” He replied with bright enthusiasm. “Can you help me out, sir?” The old monk smiled and nodded. “Of course, of course.”
Leading Budoshi over to the main area where the others were training, the old monk signalled for everyone to take a break and move off to the sides, as they stood in the middle. “I am Elder Kurumi of the Orin Temple. What is your name, young one?” Kurumi asked, giving a bow. “Budoshi!” The Tuffle replied with an enthusiastic bow of his own. “I want to learn from all sorts of styles and sources, and I think the Orin Temple style has something in it that I’ve been looking for!”
