CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE: Being an Islander Carchadross, First Mate is short but stocky, having a wide and sturdy frame that can absorb a decent amount of punishment. He is similar in appearance to the Earthern Whale Shark, with a wide mouth and general bewildered expression. His skin is hard and leathery with brownish colouration speckled with grey dots. 

BACKGROUND: Originating on the Planet Whett, First Mate was not originally called First Mate. His original name has been forgotten to time. Except not really. Carchadross have infamously bad memories, and prefer to live in the present moment. As such First Mate doesn't really know or care what his name was before he was First Mate, even though it was a name he held for over a century.

First Mate first became the First Mate to Admiral Vexx when she liberated his planet from its original Heran Overlord. This didn't shift the Political climate of Whett very much, as the Carchadross were quite happy to live life as they had been, and their conquerer had not been an overly present tyrant. Even still, First Mate felt like Vexx had done them a service, and in the midst of a bit of a midlife crisis, offered to join her fledgling Navy. As nobody was currently filling the role of second-in-command he got the position. Which he was pleased with, even if he didn't quite understand what it meant.

COMBAT INFORMATION

Light Defensive || Holdfast!
First Mate literally just stands there and takes the hit. However due to his tough skin and redundant nervous system. This can sometimes help him reduce the incoming pain.

First Mate gets serious about defense, and fully squares up and hunkers down his substantially wide form. It becomes very difficult to penetrate such a defense, and kami help any who may try and push him over.

Light Offensive || Spare Cannon
First Mate lugs up the massive cannon that he keeps on his back, just below the Soup Pot. He then proceeds to load in any nearby debris or heavy objects and fires it at the nearest opponent. Don't ask where the Black powder comes from.

Heavy Defensive Sparking || First Mate is Helping!
First Mate grabs a rock, sheet of metal, or any nearby piece of debris and wields it like a mighty shield, launching himself in the way of friends to try and save them from any incoming attacks.

Utility Technique || Forever at Soup
First Mate has the uncanny ability to turn practically anything into a delicious soup with minimal effort. Even if the item would not normally be edible. He could throw some rocks, a splash of dirt and some fish bones into a pot with some water and turn it into a delicious, nutritious soup. Strangely enough, the water even seems to boil itself, as long as it is contained in what could reasonably be considered a pot.

Utility Technique || Ki-Sensing
First Mate can smell Ki and energy levels with his very sensitive nose. However Anti-sense acts like a blocker, preventing him from smelling anyone using the ability.
