CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE: Commissioned art by Aclyr
BACKGROUND: Soseji Braai was once a proud student of the Crane School, as had his ancestors. The students - those who were serious about their dedication, at least - were loyal, brutal, and unquestionably skilled. The school produced Martial Artists with skills and stances tailored for lethality and effectiveness, preaching violence over harmony with Chi. Yet as the prodigal Soseji aged, it became clear the masters of Crane had shifted away from the core of the school. Their philosophy and refusal to teach the full-powered tri-beam were appalling to the Braai family, and despite their strong protests and threats of withdrawn support, the New Crane School did not budge.
Soseji, now an adult, angrily tore away his family and other similarly-feeling students to form a splinter - to recapture the purpose and effectiveness that generations of assassins had held before. Traveling far from traditional civilization in the West, Soseji and his roving band of disciples took refuge in Fukurou Forest. He married the current matriarch of the high-profile Kurayami Clan, creating the Karasu Clan from the union. From then on, the Crow School melded old Crane techniques with intense Ninja training and ability, creating a secretive sect operating on the fringe of cities that only the most skilled and dedicated martial artists would hear of.
Two sons would come after Soseji and upkeep his legacy: Gyuni and Akan. By now, the Crow and Karasu institutions had become inseparable, with the hereditary head of the Clan expected to upkeep the Crow Arts as their forefathers had. It wasn't until Akan's first child that a girl was born; Suteki. Despite their strictness and apathy toward killing arts, the Clan was not incorrigibly horrible. Suteki enjoyed a well-rounded life with many friends, modern amenities (even the internet), and education rivaling cities' best schools. Of course, she was also rigorously reared in the Crow School as soon as she could throw a punch.
It became clear that Suteki was a prodigy, much like her great grandfather, and quickly surpassed her peers - even dipping outside her weight class due to raw potential and skill. She was an abnormally kind girl, enjoying the sport of martial artists while still treating it with respect; while she intended to become the next grandmaster as Akan was, her passions included cooking and art - even if she wasn't particularly good at either. For a paragon child born betwixt a Ninja Clan and Assassin school, Suteki led a relatively normal life.
Everything changed days after her twelfth birthday. A band of marauding space pirates, seeing Earth as easy pickings, came snooping around in Fukurou Forest, searching for artifacts and scrolls to pilfer and sell. And Aliens - compared to even trained martial artists - were impossibly strong. By the time the Karasu Tribe stood against the strongest of the invaders, a bloody, flame-writhed battle had ensued. Suteki's family - her father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and mother all died in battle alongside many of her friends. Suteki herself was left battered and bloodied, on the brink of death and only surviving due to sheer luck and her slightly higher battle power. While the Aliens were ultimately beaten off, it came at great cost to her Clan and family.
Enraged and wracked with grief, the young child took what money she could recover and stormed off into the night, making her way haphazardly toward West City. The police would later be called to the site of a break-and-enter alongside a stolen pod, DNA evidence turning up blank, and no witnesses on the scene. Much of the crew might've been decimated in the battle, but the captain and his elites - a Heran, Saiyan, Android, and Brenchian - lived to abscond with several Karasu heirlooms. Naive, inexperienced, and utterly alone in the world, Suteki dedicated her life to one singular goal: revenge.
The faint trail of her quarry led Suteki to Pluto's moon Charon, a lightly populated den of starship repair ports, fencing storefronts, and a rest stop for those who consider Earth to have a bit too much government. An Earthling child blind in the ways of the galaxy was prime material to be chewed up and spat out in bones by the uncaring universe, but Suteki's fierce, violent demeanor and respectable battle power ultimately kept her safe from the average thug. The advent of galactic common and Zeni to credit traders were lifesavers, giving Suteki a foothold to carve out an existence from. Snooping for information, an infamous pirate gang got her nasty looks, brushed off, and threatened at times, none of it progressing her goal any further - much to the girl's frustration.

LIGHT OFFENSIVE [SIG] || PRESSURE PULSEADDITIONAL NOTES: Can I have my x3 named 'Hi-Tension'
Brisket strikes the air with overwhelming speed and force, creating an empowered conical blast of Ki-laced air to attack an opponent.
Power: 30%
KP Cost: 1 KP
Variants: N/A
MEDIUM OFFENSIVE [SIG] || DODON BLAST
A Crow variant of a Crane classic, the Dodon Blast can be used in its original ray incarnation or as a short bursting wave that erupts from the user's palm.
Power: 50%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: N/A
HEAVY OFFENSIVE [SIG] || MAKIKOHO [20,000]
A darker, fine-tuned version of the infamous tri-beam. The user forms a diamond with their hands, focusing in on a target as a roaring blast of purple energy engulfs them. At regular output it has no recoil, but when paired with a Crow life-burning technique, it becomes 'NEO MAKIKOHO'.
Power: 110%
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: N/A
LIGHT DEFENSIVE || BRACE
Suteki empowers her body to withstand oncoming damage.
Power: 20%
KP Cost: 1 KP
Variants: N/A
LIGHT DEFENSIVE || KIAI
A blast of force - via shout or otherwise - that serves to disrupt enemy attacks.
Power: 40%
KP Cost: 2 KP
Variants: N/A
HEAVY OFFENSIVE SPARKING || REALIZED POWER
A powerful technique of Suteki's own design, she unleashes a torrent of impossibly fast and precise strikes from multiple angles that 'skewer' the enemy with energy blasts.
Power: 130%
KP Cost: 4 KP & 4 MP
Variants: Back-Up Plan
SUPPORT || PURE PROGRESS [10,000]
You may activate Max Power at the very start of your post, increasing the power of all of your techniques by +10% while active. This will drain Momentum at a cost of -1 MP per post and prevents you from gaining MP naturally, using evasive or escape techs, blocking escapes, and intercepting attacks meant for others. You can only turn it off at the end of a post, at the end your second post after activation at the earliest. You will still consume MP and not regain any MP on the post you turned it off on. If you run out of MP, you lose Max Power's effects at the end of your post and cannot gain any MP on your next turn.
UTILITY TECHNIQUE || SKY DANCE
By some means, usually through a skillful application of your ki, you are able to fly through the air.
UTILITY TECHNIQUE || ENERGY SENSING
A technique that allows you to sense, measure, and differentiate the ki signatures of ki attacks and all living beings without the Anti-Sense trait. Higher ki signatures are easier to sense and can be sensed at greater distances than lower ones. This technique is passive and does not use KP.
