With a new year, and a new month with February kicking down the door, comes a new update. With this update comes multiple changes, buffs, and overhauls to species traits and modifiers, a change to the crit threshold, and the introduction of the LMB, otherwise known as the Little Man Bonus.
Given the extent of the changes to species traits, if your species is one of the affected by the balance changes, you will be able to rebuild and respec your character's species traits for free, as some changes will force this, and others will provide you with new options unavailable prior to this update. This respec will cover the species of: Earthling, Heran, Majin, Namekian, Oni, Shinjin, and Alien.

SPECIES TRAIT OVERHAUL |
EARTHLINGS:
- Makafushigi Adventure and Martial Artist reworked
Core Traits:
Makafushigi Adventure: You gain an additional 1/2/3 TP dependent on the tier of Sparking created (Light/Medium/Heavy). These Sparking techniques have a cost reduction of 1MP.
Martial Artist: You start with four technique slots instead of the standard three. In addition you may choose a single standard technique from each tier (light/medium/heavy) and add 1 TP to each.

HERANS:
- Removed Durability, Counterfeit, and Cunning Cutthroat
- Thirst for Battle and Bloodlust are now a Core Traits and reworked
- New optionals Momentous Strength, Pure Power, and Gang-Up
Core Traits:
Thirst for Battle: You start with the Max Power technique for free during character creation. In addition, Max Power no longer drains momentum, and you can gain up to 1 MP per turn.
Bloodlust: Whenever you have dealt a total of 80% damage to an opponent within 80% of your PL, instantly gain 1 KP and 1 MP. Usable once per thread.
Optional Traits:
Momentous Strength: On dealing over 30% damage to an opponent within 80% of your PL in a single hit, gain 1 extra MP at the start of your next post, ignoring MP regeneration caps.
Pure Power: Your offensive techniques, when clashing against another offensive technique and winning, cannot be reduced below 60% of their original power.
Gang-Up: If one of your allies has dealt at least 20% damage to an enemy within the past two turns they are marked as a 'target'. Your offensive techniques against this target gain the Overflowing variant. Any allies dealing damage to the target refreshes the duration. You can only gain this benefit against one target at a time.
Pure Power: Your offensive techniques, when clashing against another offensive technique and winning, cannot be reduced below 60% of their original power.
Gang-Up: If one of your allies has dealt at least 20% damage to an enemy within the past two turns they are marked as a 'target'. Your offensive techniques against this target gain the Overflowing variant. Any allies dealing damage to the target refreshes the duration. You can only gain this benefit against one target at a time.
MAJINS:
- Removed Durability

- Candy Beam now a core and reworked
- New optional Sugar Coating, and Steaming Mad reworked
Core Traits:
Candy Beam: Upon dealing at least 150% total damage to OR delivering a last hit to an enemy, you regain 30% HP, 2 KP, and 2 MP. Usable twice per thread.
Perpetual Regeneration: Your total HP threshold is increased by +60%. Critical Damage will still defeat you at its normal rate. Wounds only reduce your HP threshold by -50% instead of -100%.

Optional Traits:
Steaming Mad: You can gain a maximum of 3 MP per post instead of 2. You still have to meet the prerequisites for doing so. Additionally, once per thread, you can enter negative MP if you have at least half of the MP required to use a Momentum Boost effect.

NAMEKIANS:
- Cautious Fighter renamed to Improved Constitution and reworked
Improved Constitution: Your Second Wind heals you by an additional +5% per Momentum spent. In addition, increase healing from outside sources (healing items, heals from other players) by an extra 10%.
ONI:
- Ancient Knowledge and Dark Departure removed as Core traits
- New Core Traits Life Leech and Otherworld Training moved to Core
- New optionals Spectral Wrath and Curseweaver
Core Traits:
Life Leech: When you have dealt 60%/80%/150% Cumulative damage to an enemy, upon the enemy being KO'd/wounded/killed in the same split/thread, you regain 1(60%)/2(80%)/3(150%) KP & MP.
Otherworld Training: You may use multiple Offensive techniques in a single post, to a maximum of three. This is usable twice per thread, and will only work with Standard Techniques. You can also post freely in the Otherworld boards even if you are not dead. In addition, once per month, you may travel instantaneously from one planet to another with up to 5 others.
Optional Traits:
Demonic Might: While in your strongest available form, you may activate 10% MP Power Boosts on all of your Attack Techniques for free. This halts your momentum regeneration for that turn. However, you may not use any Power or Ki Boosts on defensive techniques with your MP in your strongest available form.
Spectral Wrath: Once per thread, you may add +10% to a standard technique. This refreshes once at 100%, and again at 200% damage taken. Healing cannot refresh the effect again.
Curseweaver: Usable twice per thread, extend the duration of an active Standard Technique debuff by 1 turn, cannot be the same debuff in a row.

- Mystic Arts and Kai Kai Reworked

Core Traits:
Mystic Arts: You can heal your allies with your magical abilities. You can generate a heal valued at 75% of your PL for 3 KP, 150% of your PL for 6 KP. This interacts exclusively with your base power level, and heals based on your target's base power level. You can choose to heal yourself instead of an ally, once per thread regardless of level used. The self heal generates a heal valued at 50% of your PL for 3KP or 100% of your PL for 6KP.
Kai Kai: Once per month, you may travel instantaneously from one planet to another with up to 5 others. This also provides a free 60% evasive defense technique, usable once per thread, that is boostable. You can also post freely in the Otherworld boards even if you are not dead.
Optional Traits:
Creator New: Once per thread, select a once per thread Battle Item. You materialize a copy of that item and it functions as per usual. The item can be given to allies mid-thread, but disappears upon the thread's conclusion. This item may bypass normal inventory restrictions.
ALIENS:
- Out of This World changed to match Itty Bitty
- Hardy Reworked
- Full Sauce text changed to match "Thirst for Battle", no other change
- My Final Form reworked
Core Traits:
Hardy: The total damage you can sustain is increased by 40%, and your Critical Damage threshold is increased by 10%.
My Final Form: While in your strongest available form, you may activate 10% MP Power Boosts on all of your Attack Techniques for free. This halts your momentum regeneration for that turn.

The Critical Damage threshold has been moved down from 150% to 130%.
INTRODUCTION OF LMB |
You know it, you love it, it's here: The Little Man Bonus! LMB will be introduced as a x1.2 (20%) bonus to thread grading that cuts off at half of current malus. It is applied after all other relevant calculations.

With the changing of the crit threshold, a change is being made to the Armor Lining XP item.
Armor Lining:
This lining can go under your armor or your clothes to provide an overall increase to your durability. Once per thread, this allows you to take an instance of Critical Damage and survive while still taking full damage. It may also be used to negate one negative Status Effect once per thread.
