"Git stuck in, ye bloated landlubber!" Salvo barked as she stabbed a man through the chest with her sword. The Konatsian let out a dying cry as he clutched his chest, and then collapsed to the ground, motionless. Salvo cackled as she stepped over his corpse, wiping clean her blade with a cloth as she advanced. While most of Dharatan was now a desolate, monster-filled wasteland after some sort of demon had attacked it a while back, the port did still have some remote activity to it. Namely, the odd cargo ship or two still had to dock to deliver supplies to and from the mainland. And with most of the city now cut off from society due to its dire state, it was the perfect sort of place to commit acts of piracy.
The one she had just struck down seemed to be the last of the men on the ship, as far as she could tell. "Captain, we ain't pickin' up on any other life forms on the ship," Seiggev, a Saiyan on Salvo's crew called out to her, confirming Salvo's suspicions. "Should we start loadin' supplies off it onto The Deliverance?" Salvo's ship, The Deliverance, had descended upon the unfortunate cargo ship from above, and now hovered off to its side, only a few meters away from it. Several boarding ramps had been released from the sides of The Deliverance onto the deck of the cargo ship, from which Salvo and her crew had emerged to board and raid and do other pirate things.
Salvo paused for a moment, then nodded. "Yea," she called back, "Start loadin' the valuable boxes onto carts and gettin' em into our storage bay. Let's make it snappy so no one even knows we hit 'em." Seiggev nodded, and he, along with a few others on the crew, started splitting up to figure out which of the many crates and boxes on board the cargo ship had anything of value in them.
Salvo, meanwhile, stepped over towards the edge of the deck, facing the deserted and ruined city. She crossed her arms and frowned as she looked over at Dharatan, and it crossed her mind to wonder what sort of force had been powerful enough to turn a once-prosperous and always bustling city into blackened ruins, filled with monsters and permanently marred by what seemed to be a tear in the very fabric of reality in the sky above it.
Would she possess that level of power one day? She sure as hell hoped so!
