CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
APPEARANCE:
{Buki}
BACKGROUND: A basic tale for a man who considered himself equally basic, or at least compared to the moon shattering powers that roamed the galaxy he called home. Among most that called Plant home, Buki would have considered himself average at best in any sense of important or power, as he couldn't blast fireballs out of his feet, or cut moons in half, or even turn into a giant rampaging ape. He was a man with a weapon, a fighter certainly, but he was even weaker than your average Saiyan soldier wielding a blaster. Buki's skill with a blade certainly wasn't unrivaled, at least not at his age, but he was smart, and certainly smart enough to know when to and when not to use it. What hadn't quite came with age or experience yet was pure humility, which usually got him into the fights and duels he found himself regularly winning. Each victory meant taking something from a felled opponent, be it a blade, a scouter, a blaster, their armor, and bringing it back to his forge. Sporting armor he had taken from a defeated Earthling, a strange scouting device that looked like flamboyant sunglasses, and a blade that looked as if someone had welded together dozens of other blades, he roamed Plant regularly.
It was easy enough to find opponents on Plant, even when not looking, as there was always a a Saiyan looking for a fight, and having his home readily available along with his forge at the toss of a capsule, there was no true place he called home. His roaming took him past a small village and into a confrontation with another Tuffle claiming to be one of the great weapon wielding masters of Plant, despite Buki never as much as heard their name prior to their meeting, but a fight ensued all the same. Within minutes, Buki's sword was sheathed and another opponent defeated, and yet another sword to be forged upon his unique blade. A month passed, once more the two met, and again a new blade added to the collection. By the third meeting it was clear this man was tracking Buki, vowing to defeat him and take his blade for himself, but the outcome was the same.
Unfortunately for Buki, no other warriors sought him out as a full year passed, except for one, and if not for the same pretentious attitude and bad haircut, they likely would have never been recognized. A clearly more muscular Tuffle wielding a blood red blade glowing a sickening black rot color, and from the scouter read out much stronger than before, challenged Buki. Strong as they were they were far slower, sloppier, cockier, but all the same fell in battle, and now Buki found himself in position with a weapon holding a blessing and a curse he never had any intention of putting any thought into otherwise.
A hard swing of his hammer upon the blade found it snapping in half surprisingly easy for what looked to be a well crafted weapon, and immediately the red color drained from it and the black glow subsided, as a dark red ooze flowed down the size of the anvil and onto the ground. It pulsed, grew, and finally took the shape of what at least looked like a humanoid, but Buki had never come in contact with anything from Otherworld before, so he had no idea how to differentiate them from anything else quite frankly.
The creature explained the power the blade held, but not because he was an unwilling prisoner trapped inside forced to do the wielders bidding, but because he was attempting to enhance the blade with his power and unintentionally trapped himself inside. He had garnered amusement from all of those that picked up the blade wishing for power, strength, wealth, all to eventually drop the blade in battle as the creature inside gave them false power that would eventually turn on them in the end when they tried to use it. In the end, the blade was tied with the creature, and by destroying it and freeing them, all that was left of his power was glowing in the palm of his hand.
Buki was offered one final wish for that cursed power, anything he wanted before the creature vanished back to Otherworld. What was asked for was nothing, as the swordsman began to clean his hammer, saying he had no wish for more strength, had no desire to unnaturally gain skill, which to the creature was taken as an insult as his power was brushed to the side and denied. With his back turned Buki felt a tight grip around his neck and a burning warmth. He would get the power whether he wanted it or not, but not a soul would be able to feel or sense it, and in turn he'd never be able to feel or sense that of another. This power would only manifest itself through his cherished blade, meaning he would forever struggle to find a worthy fight and never being able to use the given strength with his own two hands without a blade in them.
Years later, in a future filled with just as much fighting as his entire life had seen on Plant, an attack was planned on Hatchi, where he had set up a shop as a forger of steel. As the ships came overhead and an evacuation attempt was underway, he balked at the idea of leaving, especially with these Saiyans on these Empire marked ships. Days passed and there was only a single ship left, and he knew the attack was imminent, so bags were packed, weaponry, gear, and those capsules were gathered, and Buki found himself on the last ship evacuating Hatchi and avoiding a fight he simply wasn't mentally prepared to be a part of.
