The winter solstice... To many and most of the mortal races, the winter solstice no matter the world simply heralded the time when the darkness of the night was at its greatest length. Simply an astrological phenomena. A quirk of the planets rotating axis in relation to that of the star or stars that they orbited. But to those of the more occult nature, the solstice whether it was winter or summer meant the time when the veil between the mortal world and the planes beyond was at its thinnest.
And there were certain locations on some worlds where that barrier was already thinning to begin with... So in conjunction with the solstice, the barrier separating the worlds from one another was practically non-existent for a short period of time. Not so non-existent that you can traverse between them, no no no. But definitely thin enough that you can draw on those realms energies... And that is exactly what Qarinah intended to do right here and now in this mystical furnace.
With powdered rubies gathered from the mines in the desert, mixed with the ashes pulled from the furnace itself the vampiric succubus carved out into the ground a series of runic circles, each one residing within the previous one, until an intricate design of lines and sigils began to take shape within the innermost circle.
Taking the blood vial which held the Saiyan warrior Celerous' sample, from when the sound demon had rampaged through South City, she placed it in the top inner circle.
Taking the dagger with the trapped soul she had acquired during her time in that temple with Majin Moire, she plunged it into the left inner circle.
And then in the right inner circle, she placed a single black feather she had acquired from the creature known as Metabo that she had done a card reading for.
In the central inner circle she placed the small piece of Majin Moire's flesh that she had gathered from the same temple the dagger had come from.
"With blood of warrior born, with soul of mortal hewn, with feather of ravens payment, and with flesh of powers lust~" Qarinah chanted, her hands spread out wide and a dark crimson glow emanating from them. As each of the ingredients is named, they too begin to take on the same ominous light. "From the pits of the Hells, from the peaks of the Heavens, with the essence of the Makai, in spite of the Kai!" she further chanted, clasping her hands tight together, her nails drawing her blood which drip, drip, dripped into the runic circles, setting them ablaze with a pale black flame!
The components for this ritual began to shudder and shake, before one by one they burst and exploded into azure flame, a startling pin prick against the dark flames surrounding them. "On this darkest of nights, I command of thee! Come together as one, forge unto me a creature of chaos and hunger!" she invoked, an ethereal wind whipping up and around the magic circle even this deep within the caves of the furnace. The vampiric succubus reached into a pouch and began to sprinkle out some grey powder dust into the black and azure flames, each igniting brighter and yet somehow also darker at the same time.
"Let silver and steel be the essence! Let stone and the blood of mine ancestry be the foundation! Let rise an infernal wall against the divine wind that shall fall!" Qarinah chanted, a new sigil taking form in the air like a mirage above the circle. "Let the four cardinal gates of Earth be closed! Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate. Let your hunger be filled. Again. Again. Again. Again. Let it be filled fivefold for every turn, simply breaking asunder with every filling!" she invoked, the flames reaching higher and higher until the room was plunged into a sudden darkness...
The moments seemed to stretch into an eternity... Until a soft green glow began to emerge, and the lights from the furnace began to reassert themselves against the darkness of the rite. A silhouette of a figure stood there in the neon green glow, the flames from earlier extinguished, and the circles themselves utterly sundered...
