What Do You Mean No Mosh Pit? (OPEN)

Far from wind instruments and drums played in symphony back at his home village, the musical texture specific to these earthlings was just the right thing to get the blood pumping! A surreal spectacle of flashing lights and pyrotechnics, the likes of which he had never seen before! Alone in the middle of the crowd, towering above most people, the Heran listened with much delight to these new sounds that were presented to him, celebrating alongside the various other people attending the concert. These new experiences he would never have had the chance of discovering if he had stayed on Hera and for that, he was very much grateful! Following the end of the song, he looked at the small performer jumping into the crowd, to the joy of many spectators. Was that part of a ritual of some sort?

The smaller being (was she even human?) ended up on his head, her feet firmly planted on him while she invited the crowd to violence. Given the pure energy unleashed with the music, Dosu thought it wasn’t that weird for it to be a natural continuation of things.

“Fight? Yeah! Let’s fight!”

He would not need any more reason before acting. Grabbing Striker’s leg and tossing her up in the air, then grabbing the nearest person to him only to toss them at her! Nothing could beat a good brawl, especially those with little to no consequences attached to them! Only on Earth would people just fight for the fun of it.

And Dosu, enjoying every moment of it, would be beaming with joy as he just tossed people around, a smile attached to his face.

“Come on musicians! Give us something to listen to while we fight!!”

The cheering slowly transformed into scared yells when Dosu started picking people up and tossing them around. Going overboard as usual, he wouldn’t have much time to make that much of a fuss before the lead singer dropped back down, clearly unfazed by his initial attempt. At that moment, he stopped caring about the others and focused solely on her.

He ripped his shirt to give himself more comfort while fighting. After all, these tight earthling shirts were no good and would rip whenever he fought. He kept the pants on, however, some techwear he had found, as well as boots.

“Hah! I don’t wait for turns!”

He wanted to win, not to play fair, pfft! He watched her launch herself, aiming a solid punch to his face…which he welcomed! Dashing face first, his nose met the fist but the Heran did not flinch. Still at full speed, he tried to ram her into a column, putting his forearm on her neck. Following that, he would finish it with a kick, powerful enough to break said column.

Eventually, he’d step back, touching his nose. Yep, that was a bleeder. Nothing broken yet, though.

“Haha! Not bad! If you can show me some more, I could even become your biggest fan!”

He would go to every concert, but still, he might just wear their merch or something.

Sometimes, things just click. In Dosu’s case, there was no deeper logic behind it, but it just felt right. Like meeting someone for the first time and hitting it off. She could take a punch, dish it back and was generally just…fun to fight! The perfect combo to complement the electric atmosphere.

Multiple fights had broken out around them and people were revving their fighting engine to the rhythm of the music. Sloppy, bad fights, but fights nonetheless. Martial artists would be disgusted at the vulgar display, but the real ones knew that fighting was always about the emotion rather than the execution! Besides, both Striker and Dosu had taken the main stage when it came to showcase a raw display of strength.

“You have my word!”

But down on the ground, she suddenly didn’t look all that strong anymore. Had he gone overboard? She was rather small, and it wasn’t his intention to hurt her for real. Not to mention the potential problems that would come with injuring the lead singer of a band. He scratched his head, wondering if he should verify whether or not she was still alive.

“Hey…you good?”

He wouldn’t have to worry for too long, however, as she began spinning very rapidly into a ball of green, so fast in fact that the Heran couldn’t discern head from toe. Shortly after building momentum, she rammed him right in the stomach, before riding up.

“Hmppf…!”

She struck his chin, jolting his head up, racking his poor brain in the process. His vision was momentarily, focusing on her getting out of that form, the light from the spots on the ceiling shrouding her in shadows. He did notice the foot coming down, however, he caught it before she could strike.

“You got me worried for a moment there! I thought you were a goner! Well, since you can take a hit or two!”

He tossed her up in the air and would wait for her to come down before making his attack. With precision, he would time his strike and hit her jaw with his forearm in a clothesline coming outta nowhere!

Pausing for a moment he rubbed his chin with the back of his hand. Blood. She would notice it too, once she could get a proper look. Her attack did work and managed to hurt as intended. Yet, the Heran seemed to think none of it!

"Is this something you guys always do? Play your music, then get into fights? You won't like it too much here! The king on this planet hates strong people!"

By king, he meant the president, though he did not know how to word it otherwise.

“Hah! Well said, I like your style!”

The young adult was getting into this fight. For someone who usually preferred to laze around and skip on his training, having this kind of scuffle without much if any consequence was a breath of fresh air. Back on Hera, fighting was a thing of survival and mock battles among clan peoples always had an underlying meaning behind it. It was either to prove superiority, to ridicule someone or win an argument when words no longer had meaning.

Being able to let loose in the context he was currently in, now that was something Dosu could get into.

“Let’s put on a show! I’ll warn you, I’ll be serious about it.”

As a fighter, Dosu was a weird one. He never took things really seriously, taking hits instead of dodging, going for strong but slow telegraphed attacks. An attempt to mimic his brother, perhaps, despite not having any of the actual strength to show for it. However, when he was in a tough spot or an especially good mood, he would actually start putting effort into his fighting. This fight was one such moment.

He went from a neutral stance from an offensive one, fists clenched tightly with his right one standing in front of him at chest level, palm of his hand facing upwards while his left fist stayed closer to him, near his chest. Right foot forward, he put his weight on his left one, standing solidly in place.

As she dashed forward with her fist, he dashed right into it, the first jab aiming at his face grazing his cheek, his confident look on his face making it seem like it was almost voluntary.He served a few powerful strikes of his own, deep and precise blows meant for vitals in a rather quick succession. Straight punch to the face, then he instantly sidestepped to be on her left, performing a kick to her back, followed instantly by a hook to the throat and following through, in an attempt to dig her head straight into the ground.

He backed off, even if in practice a stomping strike would have followed. Sadly, his martial arts weren’t for sport or for show.

“I don’t know any of that fancy schmancy stuff and when I attack, it’s to kill. But I get the feeling you can take the heat. Consider this a token of my respect, okay?”

While he had no plan to really hurt or injure her, he couldn’t fight properly without this mindset. The best he could do to compromise was to cut short the combos he knew.

His four-piece combo was met with resistance, in the form of a neon green bubble surrounding the alien. Even if his strikes landed, the feeling wasn’t what he expected. The sensation of his kicks and punches sinking into someone’s flesh, none of what was present. He felt as though his punches simply bounced back, even if they ragdolled her around. Upon realizing this, it was already too late. Dosu had left himself open for a counterattack, which came far too quickly.

“Uh oh…”

Speeding across the improvised arena, the Heran was hit from all sides and unlike her, he had no bubble shielding him from the impact. Each time she rammed him with the full speed of her body, Dosu contorted in all ways possible, even ones that should not be physically possible. He did not even have time to recover from the previous hit that he was struck with another, bending his body again. All in all, he remained mostly in place throughout the assault, the last hit finally striking him off-balance, sending him flying. His head hit a column at full speed and he spun a few times in mid-air before finally crashing into a wall.

To most, this would have been something to worry about. After all, he had no time to dodge and parry at all. After crashing into the wall, there was a moment of silence from the spectators as dust settled, the sound of the music the only thing that resonated in the amphitheater.

Then, a hearty laughter. Pure and sincere, full of excitement. Dosu rose from the broken wall, almost as if nothing had happened. He walked back towards the middle, replacing his hair that had stuck to his face and slicking them back. His entire face was covered in blood, but he did not show pain. Instead, he was in high spirits as ever. He licked his upper lip, removing the blood dripping from his nose.

“Bahaha! You got me real good, I didn’t even see a thing! Looks like I wasn’t that serious, after all.”

He resumed his fighting stance.

“If you can keep this up, then you might just be my type of gal!”

Launching himself towards her, he feinted a punch to the liver, only to switch and try to grab her arm, throwing himself sideways with one leg over her neck, the other over her chest. Dropping to the ground, he went for the armbar, dropping it after a few seconds before rolling back, dashing as soon as possible to meet her jaw with his knee.

Not to brag or anything, but when it came to physical toughness, Dosu was a few steps above the rest. A popular theory about people from his hometown believed that the young man was already dumb enough, so any further hit to his head or brain couldn’t make him any dumber than he was. In truth, his particular constitution allowed him to not feel pain for the most part, along with heightened recovery speed. The price to pay for that was being unable to develop ki like others could.

So, yeah, that’s how he could stand up as if nothing despite receiving a concussion at the very least. Even the dizziness was left minimal, only his vision having some lag compared to the rest of his movements. It was nothing new and he could deal with it, fortunately. He would need this much if he wanted to deal with her, after all. She was not an opponent he could just mess around.

Even with a well coordinated combination, it appeared as if the small alien still had the speed advantage over him. Thankfully for the Heran, that attack had started awakening him in turn, enhancing his physical capabilities. As she tried jumping on him, mere moments before she could mount him, he vanished from under her in a fluid movement. Using his arm strength, he had pulled himself out of the way at the last moment, following through with his movement. His legs now in front of him, he used one arm to anchor himself to the ground, rotating his entire body and extending one leg that would fall on her in a movement resembling a capoeira kick.

He knew her to be quite the fast one at this point and so, if she dodged this attack he would get back up from his kicking motion, allowing her no time to recuperate and going for a series of elbows and knees, all aiming at different vital spots, trying to find some opening.

“I haven’t had a good workout like this in a while!” he exclaimed. “What else do you have in store?”

What an elusive one! His attacks all missed, eventually the realization of his knee and elbows strike not even coming near his target forced him to switch tactics with full-on punches and kicks. Nothing would do. In that mind of his, his own powerlessness did not warrant for a change of strategy. No, almost like a challenge to himself he doubled down, attempting to strike her with even more ferocity. Still, it was clear as day that it was not going to happen. He saw her coming at him far too late, got tripped and hit his chin against the ground. Quite a shocker indeed! He tried shaking his head to get rid of the dizziness, but was met with a chokehold from behind.

“Urgh…”

She held her grip tight and air wasn’t flowing. Gasps and grunts were all that came out of the Heran’s mouth. However, even if he was beaten or matched in speed and strength, he had something over her that couldn’t be ignored! His resilience defied reason and the amount of pain he could get away with was unreasonable on all fronts. If she wanted to go for a strangle, he would oblige her.

Grabbing her hands as tightly as he could, he even pushed them further against his neck, making sure they’d stay in place. With the strength of his legs and abdominals alone, he managed to get back up on his feet -also thanks to her relatively small stature-. He assumed a crouched position for a split second before jumping far into the air, as much as he could. Reaching the ceiling, he pushed it with his feet at full force to send them falling down on his back from that height, which also meant falling on her. During the descent, he held onto her hands as much as he could, digging his fingers into the back of her hands if he could.

At the few last seconds, he readjusted the position slightly so her head and neck would touch ground first and even arched his head back, sending home the fact that he wanted to attempt a short range headbutt, using their falling speed as his momentum.

‘Let go of me…!’

And if she managed to free herself from his grasp? Well, what was one more concussion to add on top of two others?
