BACKGROUND: Though it may not be obvious now, Ramen was once a great warrior on Earth. After training at a little-known dojo hidden neath the ocean in the South, she began a life of adventure--not unlike young martial artists today. Over the years, she performed great acts of heroism--and also committed great crimes. Her past is a checkered one, and those that knew her in her fighting days often knew her as both friend and foe at different times. But Ramen's prime is long over, and the clarity of old age left her with bitterness and regret over her past actions. With little to occupy her mind, she replayed her mistakes day in and day out, until the weight of the world grew too heavy.
At that moment, Ramen disappeared. Whatever fame she had garnered faded over the years, until only the most devoted chroniclers of human martial arts could still recall any of her acts, for good or for ill. Every couple of years, a prospective student makes a pilgrimage to the now-abandoned dojo in the South, to find only a ruin that hasn't seen students in decades. But still, Ramen is nowhere to be found.
In truth, Ramen took her self-imposed exile very seriously: not only abandoning contact with old friends or family, but leaving the Earth altogether. Some believe she may have appeared at one point in the war on Plant, to shield the Tuffles against a Saiyan invader she knew too will. Others believe she assisted with an insurrection against an Arcosian warlord, on a planet whose name can scarce be recalled. But whether or not any of that is true, even brief sightings have faded away.
No one has seen Ramen in fifteen years.
It was only recently, when news of turmoil in the galaxy finally reached her, that Ramen chose to end her self-imposed exile. She appeared in the last place anyone could have expected her to be: hiding away on Namek, unknown to that planet's inhabitants. It's hard to say just how battle-ready she is after all these years, with age proving to be a foe even she stands no chance against. But while she may not be a match for threats of the day, her mind for battle is as sharp as ever--and maybe, just maybe, decades of solace may granted her a grudging acceptance of her past deeds.
