Virtue In a Bloody War (Split)

Tarine was determined to give chase to the Arcosian and whatever it was that swept them away from the fight. Unfortunately for him, being forced to go by foot versus the sheer power of the individuals up above meant the pair were swiftly growing distant. But he refused to let that stop him, because while he’d long lost sight of the pair beyond the still standing pieces of skyline he was still trying to keep track of their energy signatures. Despite the overbearingly powerful ki of the many fighters oversaturating the atmosphere and all fighting for dominance over his senses, he was sure he could still feel at least one of the people he was looking for some distance ahead.

And that pushed him all the harder to keep running, if any civilians were still alive then he probably would have been nothing more than a blur, a orange streak of ki bounding over and weaving through rubble and abandoned vehicles which lined the streets. But for Tarine this was a single-minded pursuit, his rage wouldn't be quelled easy and that thing had the gall to run when he saw what it did!

Another sudden spike in his irrationally-potent anger was all that was needed to break his concentration and as soon as he took another lunge forward, he felt something catch against his foot and in that moment of surprise he was sent skidding far across the pavement as his momentum petered out.

The fall was only mildly disorientating, and with a groan he was already pushing himself back up to his feet- until he noticed something laying on the ground in front of him... It looked to be a energy blaster? Much more rounded and sleek than what he'd ever seen back home- shiny too if not for the scuff marks, red stains and the body nearby- there was just a blaster. Tarine snatched it up quickly before proceeding back into a sprint, it could come in handy later.

From there it wasn't long until he caught up with where he'd assumed the Arcosian went... or not? There was a... there was a giant man ahead. That wasn't an exaggeration either, they were rotund, well-dressed... and almost the size of an Oozaru.

The sight almost made him forget what he was so furious about before as he was taken in by the strangeness of it all. He skidded to a halt, blinking at the giant as if he couldn’t quite believe it existed.

He'd arrived slow enough that he was only witness to the tail end of what was happening but whatever it was appeared to be bellowing something at the people on ground level while it made grand hand gestures at them. And the person it was most focused on had a distinctive twist to their ki he felt was undeniably... Tuffle.

The fact reignited his rage again- head now buzzing with an overwhelming desire to defend the Tuffle in front of him like his life depended on it- and the continued desire to destroy anything that wished to hurt them. The brutal events of the day already leaving their scars on his psyche, meaning Tarine was more that willing to put his new acquisition to use. So face contorting into anger, he pulled up the recently-acquired blaster and unloaded a small spray of ki blasts it in the direction of Marimba's face to hopefully pull their attention towards himself.

To Tarine's horror, the giant then released a great well of energy that appeared to start to engulf Korado, regardless of how well he took the attack, Tarine was overcome with a sense of great panic- and began bounding towards where he last saw the Tuffle.

"No- NO!"

Korado looked forward at Marimba as he gave his reasons. A friend of his was murdered or someone he wanted to kill. Then his ship got impounded and finally he got hit in the jaw by Korado. That pissed him right off. So that why he needed to destoy the tuffle’s. Korado was about to respond but the ground broke under him. His armor surged with life as it began to glow red. Some sort of gem in the armor glowed. “I am glad I worked with these things. The Blood Ruby power may be magically but I can make it work with my suit.” he swung “Gravity Breaker!” He swung his fist flashing with the ki that came out of the ground. It would be split apart exploding behind Korado as the armor surrounding his fist smoked. Red Lighting would crackle off the armor before slowly fading away.

“So, a tuffle kills your target. And you decide to wipe the race out. You were fined and I am not sure why? Was not there but 600 zeni? And because I knocked your teeth down your throat while you were trying to destoy the tuffles? That not a reason to wipe them out if you already seemed on the path to do that.” Korado stared at him with pity. “Only one of those reasons makes a lick of sense. Even then it is some bullshit. I’m sorry that you happen to be a complete moron. So many people have wanted to take out the tuffles, but they at least have a reason like their brother died in a war. You wanna wipe us out cause we killed someone you wanted to murder. Jeez i’m sorry. Should I feel some drawn sense of pity. And step aside and allow you to kill thosuands of people becuase you have a tempter tantrum?” Korado was done a while ago trying to reason with these sort of people. He had to keep people alive and work on his science. And these guys were stopping him from doing either.

Korado scouter beeped as he was not the only one here. In fact three other power’s had arrived. A Beast man of some sort who called out how foolish the reason Marimba gave were. The second arrival, he swore he meet before. This man Tarine seemed to worried about him and fired off a blast towards Marimba just after he had defended himself from Marimba’s attack. But that left him quite open. As another figure the man Sickle slugged away was ready to go. While Axis seemed to be insane at least his reasons were understandable. He just wanted to murder everyone to make them fear him. Disgusting. But it was something he found at least fair enough. No one saying they were killing was some justified slaughter. No, he was vile. So there was no need to respond to his reasoning. No matter what he said, this guy would be killing tuffles.

But, he was not going to let him keep going on his rampage. As the crimson rays of key fired at Tarine, Korado quickly darted over. “Nano armor active!” A white lair of nanbots stuck out from his suit forming even heavier armor then he was already using. Korado stood in front of Tarine taking the massive blast fired down at him! He would keep in front of Tarine to keep him protected as the barrage leveled the area and began to tear through the armor. His suit was alerting him to the high level of damage he was sustaining. But he kept standing firm as the armor held up to the best of its abilities to the onslaught thrown out! When the rain of blast ended, Korado stood firm his armor smoldering as part of his skin and half of his face was exposed to the light. He was not just some drone, he was standing here to fight himself.


“If you want to die that is fine. I can’t stop yah form wanting to rampage. Nor can I keep protecting you.” he glanced at Tarine. “I suggest you pull back. That would be your best bet. But, if you wanna stay. I won’t be able to protect you much more then this.” Korado took in a deep breath. His suit used a lot of power. He needed to recharge after this. Especially with Marimba, his atacks were vicious and powerful. Chaznut was not that strong either. They were really in the way. Well, not exactly at least it gave him opening with Marimba and Axis may wanting to aim at them. But he like to also keep them alive. Speaking of making them open.

Sickle the Slime bounced forward a few times before sling shotting towards Axis. He had just used a lot of ki, and Korado was aware of this. As Sickle rushed forward he called. “Sickle No need to hold back! Hit this guy with lethal shots.” Sickle body seemed to bounce in excitement as the slime rushed in. Korado then glanced at Axis. “I should give you some advice. Your not the only Arcosian I’ve killed.” Sickle arm would be pulled behind his head as he went to punch Axis into the ground. If he succeeded, Sickle would bring the arm back as it would expand into a massive fist and rock down to crush Axis into a paste! He was not holding a thing back. It was kill or be killed.

The large Zoanthrope gritted his teeth, feeling completely out of his depth here. Even with his stellar focus, he could still feel the many other vast power levels clashing and fighting in this city, and it was almost overwhelming in their power and intensity. Compared to them, he might as well be just a small gnat, ready to be squashed for his impudence in trying to interfere in their affairs.

But honestly, he didn't give a single fuck about that.

Fuck power levels, fuck the invading force that was destroying simply for the sake of destroying, and fuck him for not having perhaps trained a little bit more before deciding to take the plunge into a vast unknown world like outer space.

But most importantly...

"FUCK YOU!" Like a speeding bullet, Chaznut zoomed into the battlefield and zeroed in on the only combatant that seemed stationary and easy to grab: Axis. He was too angry at the alien's reasoning, reminding him way too much about the callousness of the bandits back on his planet, and how they attacked his tribe and the surrounding area without a care or concern for who they killed or what they destroyed.

Even with his anger clouding his vision, he tried to collaborate with the slime-like alien going after the Arcosian, his massive body seeming to bulge bigger as his muscles expanded, giving him a very top-heavy build. Once he found an opening he'd rush in with a barrage of three powerful punches, aiming to give Axis a world of hurt!

Explosions rang out in the distance. Multi colored lights lit up the city. The entire ground was now shaking underneath them. Whatever was going on in the other parts of the city was clearly hectic. Massive power levels and attacks were being flung about left and right. This was was progressing fast. It was hard to tell who was winning but Axis had a bad feeling about it. He didnt have time to think about that though. His problems were right in front of him. He felt sickles power begin to swell as he rushed forward. Whatever he was planning didnt bode well for the Arcosian. He had no choice anymore. It was now or never. He couldnt hold back any longer. If he didnt step up his game he would be dead sooner rather than later. 

Axis let his ki swell as Sickles fist came in for a heinous uppercut. Right when it was about to make contact you could see a change begin to take place in Axis. His body began to grow slightly both in height and in muscle. His razor sharp nails grew to be like minature daggers on his hand. Spikes began to form on his tail. His skin grew thick and hard like his own personal suit of armor. His teeth became fore fanged like and his appearance grew even more twisted and evil to match his personality. It was a fitting form for the murderous Arcosian. Even in this form he knew it would not be enough. He was still greatly outclassed. He had to dig deep into his reserves to push his final transformation as high as he could make it go. Higher then it had ever it been! He didnt know how long he could hold this form but hopefully it would be enough to survive whatever these crazy warriors were trying to throw at him. When the uppercut hit hit him he could not help but let at a viscous howl as the blow caused him to see stars. He could feel his armor jaw crack slightly under the force of the blow. A moment later he was getting hit by a follow up and driven towards the ground. Even with his new strength it hurt. It took every muscle he had bracing against the force to avoid potentially fatal damage.

To make matters worse sickle was not the only one attacking him. He heard a war cry from another fighter but could not get a good view of him as axis plummeted towards the surface. With perfect teamwork he felt punch after punch hit him. It altered his trajectory just enough to where he went skipping off the ground and rolling into the distance rather then cratering directly. It took a moment for the momentum to subside and for his body to stop. He found himself smashing into a small building on the outskirts of the city. Wood and blocks buried his body. For a moment it looked like the Arcosian might be out for the count. The rubble slowly started to shift and Axis pulled himself from the debris. He coughed and blood came spurting out. He spit it out on the ground and began laughing hysterically. This was what he lived for. THIS was a FIGHT.

That is what im talking about. Its about time. I was starting to get the impression that you guys were all bark and no bite. At least one of you can throw a decent punch. I know im not exatly one to talk but i am curious why you guys have no honor? Is not one of you brave enough to stand on your own two feet? I figured one of you would have enough pride to fight me one on one but it seems four versus two is exactly how heroes are supposed to behave. I guess you guys dont appreciate a challenge or is it that you guys are afraid you will die if you dont attack as a group? That Makes sense to me. I would cower in a group to if i were as weak as the rest of you. Its a shame though that none of you will get the glory for this win. Pathetic! I guess an army of ants is always going to over power a deadly wasp. Well lets get this over with then.

Axis cracked his next from side to side in preparation of the next round of conflict. He didnt expect his goading to work on any of them but it was worth a shot. He wouldnt be a very good villain unless he at least attempted to mess with there heads. He also needed the time to let his energy stabalize so he could continue to fight. He could feel his newfound power began to slip as he struggled to keep up his transformation. That hit from sickle had really done a number. He wasnt the most experienced in this form. He would need to work on that in the future. if he just had a little more time to master his skills this fight could have turned out completely different. Oh well, there was no point dwelling on things that could not be changed. His spikey tail beat against the ground anxiously as he awaited to see what every ones next move held in store for him.

The remaining air was forced out of his lungs as the ground cracked underneath him, his senses now slowly coming back to him after the shock of the initial blow, Tarine was now in unimaginable pain. The gashes through his arms and the far deeper one in his chest almost exposing bone caused a burning agony like no other- the only thing comparable was the fleeting moment of consciousness he’d had in the moment after that insect had ripped a hole through his abdomen. He could feel himself breaking into a cold sweat as the warmth was leached from him by the blood quickly leaking through his clothes and across the pavement below.

He tried to breathe- a sharp pain flared through his chest and he convulsed as he choked on the air before being forced to slow to taking in small sharp breaths... Was something broken? The thought briefly crossed his mind before it occurred to him- this was still a fight.

Aware he couldn’t just lie still and die, he attempted to push himself into at least a sitting position- only for the laceration in his arm to explode with pain the moment he put pressure on it, causing him to yank it back with a hiss.

…So he couldn’t do anything- panic started to set in, he could barely move- barely breathe without something in his chest shifting uncomfortably- why did he jump in the way? No one told him it would hurt like this! But- but he did the right thing? They were a Tuffle and he’d kept them safe right? That was supposed to- but then why did it hurt so much?

Little could have stopped him from becoming a frantic, bloody mess on the ground, quietly working itself up into tears between each shallow breath... but what could make it worse was the golden light now emanating from the crumbling heart of the city. All coherent thought ceased as a burning pressure overtook his senses- he could feel his life flashing before his eyes as air crackled with a planet-rending energy- threatening to consume him whole if he didn't escape.

Overwhelming fear took over as he desperately tried to fight off the pain tearing through his body if he so dared move- but then he saw it- a golden light racing towards him. The morphing giant behind it was barely registered, a dark shape at most- his pained and fear-addled mind blending truths as he couldn’t distinguish his impending doom from the power threatening to burn Hatchi to the ground.

With all the power he could muster, Tarine forced one of his arms up to wildly slash away at the incoming blast, ki shooting recklessly through the air in the vain hope he could fight it off- the fear evident in his eyes as he attempted to wildly kick and drag himself back with his other freshly-bloodied hand and away from the ki clawing at his senses. He didn’t know if it would work but he didn’t want to die! He couldn’t! He w-

Like before he was horribly outmatched, despite his efforts, he could barely put a dent in the energy racing towards him and with almost no time to react it swiftly encompassed his arm- briefly he was aware of the searing flesh before being swallowed in his entirety. In potentially some last desperate attempt to “hide” from the power bearing down on him, his energy shrunk away, leaving nothing detectable behind in a manner that could be mistaken as him meeting his untimely demise. In reality, the wave detonated once it completely hit the ground- sending rubble everywhere as well as a heavily burned and bleeding, yet barely breathing, body flying back until it cracked against a building and fell limply into a heap.
