Character Description
Appearance: Durian doesn't stand out among the Tuffle crowd. He stands at a measly five feet tall, with a slender frame. His face shows signs of mile gauntness, and has aged greater than what you might expect due to the harsh conditions of his life. His attire is simple, as he owns very few pieces of clothing. A ragged white gi which he found out in the wastes is typically what he sports, though on occasion he does put out his special Saiyan breastplate which is the only connection he has to the outside world. His hair is ragged and unkempt, looking more Saiyan than Tuffle.
History: Durian's life was troubled from the very beginning. His father, Ichigo, was a Tuffle solider who never had much luck on the battlefield. His mother on the other hand was an excellent solider, battling with distinction against the Tuffles on several occasions. Despite her own brilliance she was only as good as the rest of her squamates, and eventually she found herself overwhelmed and taken prisoner by the Saiyans. Due to Ichigo's poor performances he found himself stuck on guard duty to the prisoners, which is where he eventually found himself falling in love.
Eventually Bito was able to convince Ichigo to help stage a breakout, with Ichigo causing a system malfunction which allowed all of the prisoners to escape. The Saiyan and Tuffle made their way back to her home in the Vegeta section in Saiyan territory, being careful to hide Ichigo's true identity. Eventually a child was born of them, whom they named Durian. Bito's father, Konsai, was extremely demanding of his daughter, and was distraught when discovered that she had left the military. Considering his first born son, Daikon, had gotten himself crippled Konsai expected Bito to carry the family name into battle.
Though they tried their best to hide the truth it was only a matter of time until Konsai discovered what had happened. Carrying and extreme hatred for Tuffle kind Konsai revealed Bito's identity to the Saiyan authorities, which lead to his arrest. Fearing what terrible things awaited them, and fearing for her child most of all Bito decided to act first, striking down her father before he could go through on his own machinations. Knowing that the authorities would came after her she took off into the dead of night and left her son in the wastes, leaving behind his father's breastplate, which carried the Griffin crest, as well as his blaster before facing his own destiny.
It wasn't so different from what many Saiyans had practiced in the past, leaving their children to grow out in the wild to make a warrior of them, and so that's what Durian did. At a very young age he became exposed to Destron, stumbling into the crags and having no way of getting out. Those were the worst of his times, and it was a miracle that he survived. Over time his immune system came to handle the toxin, and although the affects were always there he found himself able to find hidden spots among the Crags that allowed him some degree of safety. At a certain point he felt more comfortable there than anywhere else, as no one would ever disturb him in the Crags.
Over time he managed to contain the Destron in old, discarded capsules he found in the rubbish of the land, and used them to great affect against the animals he hunted. It made them taste a lot worse, but he was able to pull in much larger numbers than before. He stayed away from whatever conflicts were going on between the Saiyans and Tuffles, as he had very little interest in their kind. He didn't know about the conflict, he didn't understand the conflict and he was happy with that. Occasionally a few explorers would find the wild child in the wastes, but he'd quickly chase them off. He wanted to be left alone.
