A Long-Awaited Battle [Closed]

Nasu was most thankful that Zuqetta had indeed chosen to bestow upon him the knowledge required to have such a weapon in his arsenal. In truth had it been a few months earlier he would have refused to wield a sword again, but now? Now he had made peace with himself finally and now he knew what he had to become and return to, there was no use in delaying it any further.

“Thank you. I appreciate it.”

She mentioned a certain Clove, but he was not too sure she knew whom she spoke of, to be honest. While the two had seen one another at the throne room, he was not too familiar with the individual and therefore had no one to associate said name to, thus he just eyed her quietly and blinked until she got to the meat and potatoes.

The ability to materialize things. Well that one thing he could not do for certain, he knew that much. However she also asked if his dragon could change form, and well, it was not too hard to answer. In truth even his very dragon was not just energy shaped after a dragon, in a way, it was intimately connected to Nasu on a spiritual level. One could say it was his very soul perhaps.

“Yes. I usually do not show off the whole dragon, sometimes it is just the fists or the wings, depending on what I need to do with it. Why? Can that help us with the process?”

Perhaps he could use a similar process for a sword? Again he would not know, it was a very one trick pony thing usually with his dragon. He did not ever need to get that much creative beyond knowing how to best make use of the creature that floated above him.

“So it will. Well, that is good at least. To have had my body possessed was most unfortunate but it is not an ability I would have acquired otherwise. I like to think I learned a thing or two off that accident somehow.”

Curious. But not surprising, after all he did pretty much unlock the ability after he harnessed some strange affinity for these abilities, which would be at some point after Rosemary had taken control of him. If he remembered well, the first ability that he showcased was the one where he spawned a lot of clones.

“What the…?”

He watched everything suddenly disappear and he was left pretty much standing. He did recognize the position she mentioned as one commonly used to practice energy manipulation. He did not feel like he actually needed it to concentrate, otherwise he would have been unable to do plenty of stuff by now, instead he chose to insist that he would at least do that much his own way.

“Pray forgive me, do I really have to?”

But she went ahead and took a seat herself. At that point he just gave up and sat with his legs crossed much like she asked, he felt it would have been rude not to, and now much like she asked, he figured all he had to do was to summon the shadow dragon once more. It was not a difficult feat by now, back on Namek he had made him the size of an elder dragon almost, of course the dragon as a whole was nothing more than a body, it had no legs, for it was always stuck to Nasu somehow.

“Alright, here it goes.”

Without strain the figure emerged from the physical form of the man, it did not struggle to stand at all, instead nearly all of the area suddenly was covered by the beast’s towering height, all the while Nasu did not display much of a change.

"But what now? What can I do with the dragon to get a sword?"

Whatever he just did now was nothing special to him by now, having done so countless times and perhaps without anyone really teaching him. Unless you counted that good old demon pal of his that was now gone as some kind of mentor in the expertise of such abilities, nevertheless there was of course a hint of curiosity when she appeared happy and satisfied with his display.

The fact alone that his soul desired a dragon, well it was not that surprising. In the end most of his technique had a dragon’s touch because he had been slaying wicked beasts way before Zuqetta was even born, not to mention his heritage, or perhaps it could be down to something far simpler.

“I have always thought dragons were cool. At least to look at, they were royal and elegant in my eyes. Back when I was a kid. So, who knows, maybe that is the reason.”

Of course that was only a guess, nothing more. But it was as good as any, and now the true show was about to begin, he had to now actually make a sword… which left him a little struck, for he did not really understand then.

He supposed making the dragon was just something she wished to witness so she could confirm her suspicions rather than a step towards obtaining the sword, but then of course she mentioned he would have to go through a similar process to create this weapon.

It was in the spur of that single moment that his first instinct was to stand up and reach forward and actually try to materialize a sword, yet no matter how much he tried the magical energy only seemed to split and evaporate shortly after, unable to truly make a sword out of an image in his head.

However, what he could do was visualize himself or rather… that which inside himself? Or part of himself? Anyway, whatever you wanted to call his soul. And what came before him was a small stone, a shiny one wrapped in a brilliant light that made it unable to truly tell what it was, but it dragged Nasu away, almost as if it carried weight, even if it floated some distance from Nasu and eventually it fell onto the ground itself.

The man visibly struggled right now, and yet it was at that moment that his brain tried to seek a solution. Whatever else did Zuqetta say that he could use to make this work? Something about… survival? The instinct to survive, something that he knew quite well, and even now, that very same idea that pushed him to continue; when he thought about survival, he could not help but remember those few nights spent, where everyone was an enemy, everyone attacked him and he was alone.

To survive. The memory alone brought along power, strength and anger, that which he poured into his body, so that he could slowly make a stand once more, as he did, a brief flash appeared unnoticed.

It was difficult to tell whether it was merely a trick of the light, something magic or perhaps the manifestation of why Nasu fell in the first place; the tremendous weight he yet bore over his shoulder, of those he failed to save, whose bodies he had to climb over to survive and fight another day, those that he defeated. Faces that appeared and disappeared before the naked eye could see, and then there was nothing left if not Nasu, now slowly standing, whereas the stone had turned liquid, molding into the shape and form of something, indeed, and when he finally stood, the light was gone.

It was rough, far too heavy and large to even be called a sword. And yet it looked just like one, the man however did not seem displeased and eyed the tool with glee, silently.
