Over the last year, Flubba had spent a majority of his time learning more about the world he was made on. This red blob had managed to find a small abandoned town, he seemed relieved that there wasn't a civilization here anymore. Most of the buildings were in bad shape, holes in their roofs or walls. Flubba walked through the small town, coming across a large building that looked different from the rest of the buildings here. The red ooze made his way to the double doors. Opening them both, the doors breaking on their hinges. Flubba had to hunch down to make it through the doorway into this building. Birds flew as if they were startled through the building and out of a large hole with the roof of this building. The floor had large puddles of water, with debris and books within them.
Flubba had spent awhile within a city before and understood this place was a building a knowledge. Having seen the residents of that city looking at books before, not really sure what they were doing with the books. The reddish sentient blob roamed around the inside of the library. The floor creaking with every other step he took. He reached down to pick up one of the soggy books in a puddle of water. The book was large, this and flat with a colorful cover, it barely holding itself together from how much damage it had taken from the water. Flubba opened the book how he had seen other do and looked inside. The soggy paper stuck to one another, tearing with ease as he opened up its pages. Even if they hadn't stuck together this book barely had anything on its pages. Black smears and some once colorful images now faded and unrecognizable from what they once were. The creature made his way over to one of the many bookshelves that also had more books with very colorful covers. Flubba freed one of these books from its shelf and opening it. The pages were warped and stuck together a little and its images were faded but he could now see what was on the pages. There were once colorful characters on the page that had words above and below them. Flubba looked at the words and back to the character trapped on the page unsure what any of it said. He could see the character was a cow running or jumping over a fence. The blob considered that the words might be describing what the cartoonish cow was doing. But why would it need to say what it was doing when it had a picture to show what it was doing.
Over the course of a year or so, Flubba would spend all of his time in this library. Learning how to read and eventually read every book that still had the words on its pages within this library. Slowly working his way up with the kids books to ready more complex books. During this time he also had to learn what fiction and non-fiction was.
After spending over One Year within this library, Flubba would leave the library for the first time.
He would leave the library and went into the forest. His mind having expanded greatly. The blob understood so much more about the world, with his new knowledge he was able to identify most of the plants he saw on his walk. Knowing the names of the different birds that flew overhead in the tree tops or sat on branches chirping. Flubba understood far more about the circle of life, that the people of Earth don't follow. He knew that they had their own set of rules and laws. Some he agreed with many he did not however. Believing that the punishment for them should be far more severe than they were. Flubba walked through the forest with his heavy footsteps. Sending most animals nearby scurrying, slithering or flying away from the somewhat large slime with each step he took.
