<That was a far too quick response time.> Qarinah thought to herself, glancing at the other cultists in the room who were looking at each other. <He's had this conversation before...> And then he took a step towards her, asking for the knife back. The vampiric demon looked at the knife she had pulled from the dead cultists back, holding it in front of her as she tilted it from side to side.
"What I find most curious about all this is the fact that this knife was in your fellow cultists back." she mused, not handing the knife back as she simply held it in front of her, between the old cultist and herself. "How did it come to be there I wonder?" Qarinah asked, the knife slipping from her fingers and falling to the ground. As the blade began its descent to the stone tiled floor, she took the knife she had collected from the altar above this temple, and proceeded to try and shank it deep into the old man's gut with it!
As she let the blade twist, she leaned in close to the old man's ear and whispered softly. "Your blood will not grace my lips, your soul will not feed your masters appetite, and your reward? It was never going to come... Amon has forgotten you..." With those final words in the old mans ear she would place her fingernails across his throat, and proceed to cut the artery there so he might bleed like the stuck pig he was.
True to her word, she would wipe her fingers clean on his robes as she pushed him back before turning her gaze upon the remaining cultists. "So, who's now in charge of this cult?" asked Qarinah as she bent over to collect the dropped knife from earlier, tapping it against her thigh as she spoke.

Moire knew that Qarinah was definitely up to something given the way she was holding the knife and her not immediately giving the knife back to the cultist ringleader. Things were going to get a bit grisly very soon, but she didn't know if the leader was even aware of what was happening. The demon made a point regarding the knife in the other cultist's back when she arrived, pointing out their rather violent tendencies against their own members. Upon dropping one of the knives to the floor, the elder reaches forward to grab it before it fell, only to be stabbed in the gut by one of the knives Qarinah grabbed from above.
The air from the man's lungs immediately left him as the man's body slowly began to shrivel up, his skin slowly growing more and more gray as some white mist flowed from the body into the gem of the dagger. "Qarinah, you..." he began, but is unable to finish the thought before falling down to the ground, desperately reaching out to try and grab hold of something, anything that can help him, all while the cultists slowly backed away from their dying ringleader. He manages to gather enough breath before uttering out one last plea, begging, "Amon... Help me..." Eventually, his body stopped moving entirely, blood very slowly pouring out of the wound as the vessel was now vacant of any and all life.
Well that was one way to deal with that, but perhaps it should stand as an example to the rest of them that they aren't to be trifled with. With little else to do, the cultists stop in place and kneel before Qarinah silently, though Moire doesn't really get their motivation. Are they doing this just because they too might die if they try to run, or are they actually shifting their belief in Amon? These mortals can be really confusing to Moire.
The majin turns her gaze back towards Qarinah and comments, "Well I suppose I should congratulate you for acquiring a cult." All this time, Moire had hoped that she would've found a great target to absorb, to take their power for herself. Unfortunately, all she found were a bunch of madmen raving over some random demon only to then shift their belief once one of them goes down with little resistance. On the other hand, Qarinah could certainly prove to be useful, but not in the way that she would be absorbed. She could be far more useful than that. "Now that I finally have a chance to think for but a moment, I believe I may have a bit of a proposal for you."
Honestly, she had been expecting just a little bit more of a fight... The vampiric demon had been expecting him to try and grab at her, or pull his own blade or something. But no, a bitter disappointment to the very end of his meager existence. No wonder this Amon shoehorned this lot into the middle of nowhere if this was the quality of its leadership.
Qarinah inspected the gem embedded in the knife carefully. "Well, at least we now know that these are the genuine article at least." she mused aloud, glancing at the kneeling cultists that remained. She chuckled when Moire congratulated her for getting herself a cult, and then perked an eyebrow as she suggested a proposal. The silver haired woman then smirked. "I think I know what your proposal will be, and I think we can definitely work well together." she surmised, wondering if she was reading the situation correctly.
The vampiric demon glanced towards the cultists gathered on their knees once more. "Alright then boys, girls and those of neither and in-between," she said as she sheathed the two blades away into her belt for the time being, "here is your new plan and set of orders. Whatever lives you had before joining this cult, you are to return to as best you can." she said, holding up a hand to forestall any questions.
"I am not disbanding this cult before anyone gets the wrong idea. You are to return to your lives, act as regular members of society... whilst keeping an eye out for any and all who carry any significant powers." Qarinah explained and ordered. She held out her hand and conjured up a set of Scouters, disguised as pairs of glasses, physical add-ons for phones and so forth, one for each cultist that was here.
"These devices will let you accomplish this task, and should you find anyone who meets this criteria, say with a value of ten thousand or higher, you are to contact myself and Miss Moire here and let us know." the vampiric demon further explained. "And should you find someone who doesn't register at all, not even a single blip of a digit, who register as not existing on the devices, you contact us." she quickly added on, figuring that there will probably be others out there who can completely hide their energies like herself.
"No more will you scurry and hide like forgotten rats, feeding off of scraps. For every single individual that you each report to us, you shall be rewarded. Whether that be in materials or... other methods, is up to your own request." Qarinah said with a hand on her hips and a coy smirk across her lips.
"For those of you whose lives were in shambles and ruins before joining this cult, your fellows will help you with job interviews and such so you can get your acts together. As much of a... competition as this may be, you are all to work together, or else." the demon warned, flaring her power so that even if they couldn't sense her power themselves they could at least feel it, much like how one can feel that a predator is nearby in the forest...
Qarinah regarded each of them before smiling softly and chuckling. "And with the Accords in place, anyone who sees you trying to keep track of any high power levels would simply believe you are performing your civic duty. Why, play your cards right, and you may just wind up getting rewards not just from myself but the local government as well." she mused, before looking back at Moire. "Need a Scouter as well my dear, or do you have another way for them to contact you?" she asked.

As Moire watched the body of the leader writhe on the ground before finally passing away fully, Qarinah herself takes the opportunity to inspect the gem on the knife she stabbed him with. Moire too soon looks at the pommel, noting that it appears to be glowing a bit, signifying that these things actually do work properly. Moire cared not for the cult members considering how weak they are, rather she was paying much closer attention to Qarinah, awaiting how she would respond to a potential proposal from the majin. Surprisingly enough, the demon already seems to know what Moire might potentially ask of Qarinah, making her wonder if she knows about what majins are capable of. Could Megis have mentioned something to her about her kind, or was it something else?
Qarinah then took center stage over the cult, each of the members kneeling and bowing their heads to, Moire guesses, is their new leader. It's a bit barbaric that the strongest is placed at the top, but then again the saiyans ran that way over on Sadala, so who really knows. The succubus gives them all new orders to return back to society, with some of the members shooting their heads up in disbelief at what they were initially told. Even Moire herself was a bit confused to the decision, since though these cultists are mere mortals, they could provide a wonderful service for rituals and... And whatever else it is that demons do.
Of course, there was something to this decision, and Qarinah made their mission very clear afterwards once she conjured up all sorts of devices. Glasses, phone accessories, and others were each provided to the cultists, who each rose up from the floor to take one device. Each one removes their hoods, and as anticipated, all of them were earthlings, with the majority being men while only two were female. Some of them even already started applying the devices as Qarinah states that any individuals who have a power of ten thousand or higher are to be recorded and reported to both herself and Moire, and now the majin knows exactly what she is planning.
"I certainly didn't anticipate this," Moire comments as Qarinah was continuing her orders, "But I absolutely won't complain. So you have heard about the capabilities of a majin, yes? From what Megis has told me about you, you have a desire to acquire the blood of powerhouses, so it all works out for us two, then. You get the blood, and I get to have the body." Moire was already getting rather excited at the prospect of growing her own forces, with both Qarinah and Megis making life easier for Moire to enact her own plans and desires. "I believe you could also, perhaps, put in a good word for me for someone named... Kamae, was it?"
Qarinah then makes it clear to everyone that this is no competition, but requires cooperation from everybody, with her power flaring just ever so briefly to really drill that part into their minds. Once she was finally done, the cultists slowly bow to the demon once more, with the one in the middle replying, "As you command, Qarinah." When the succubus offers Moire a scouter, the majin hesitates for a bit, debating if she really needs a device before replying, "Hmm, perhaps I might need one for the time being. Even now I am still not at my full strength, and some of my abilities are still locked away. Before, I could communicate across vast distances, even so far as to communicate to people who weren't even on the same planet, but now I lack that capability. For now, I would appreciate a way to communicate with them." a
As Qarinah heard that Megis had apparently been spilling the beans about the conversation in the cafe with Kamae, the silver haired demon couldn't help but sigh and snarl at the same time, folding her arms across her chest whilst shaking her head. Not in a negative manner, but in more of a disappointed body language sense. "That little... I am going to turn him into taffy or cotton candy next time I see that brat." she muttered before nodding at Moire.
"Sounds like the start of a beautiful partnership Miss Moire. As for Kamae, I've only recently begun my acquaintance with him, but I shall put in a good word all the same for what it may be worth." said the vampiric succubus, noting each of the cultists carefully as they began to take their leave of the underground sanctum for future reference. The two female cultists were at least cute and would definitely be receiving more... personal rewards later on. If they were up for it of course~
Moire mentioned that some of her powers were locked away which was... concerning a little, but nothing that time and energy could remedy no doubt. "A parting "gift" from the forced time with the oh so ineffable Shinjin I presume?" inquired Qarinah in a musing tone, one hand reaching up to try and casually brush some of Moire's "hair" out of her face and behind what counted for an ear on Majins.
"Well... Nothing that can't be fixed with time and effort..." she said softly. "The Shinjin are quite bad at keeping things locked up for very long. I'm living proof of that~" the vampiric demon purred, wondering where Moire's leanings were, if she had any that was.

Qarinah seemed to mutter something under her breath when Moire mentioned Megis telling her about the demon. Was she perhaps a bit disappointed that the majin had loose lips or something? Was it supposed to be a secret between the two in the first place? Perhaps, but at the very least Moire was now more familiar with who Qarinah was before meeting her officially, so there's that.
The succubus seemed rather pleased with beginning their relationship, and even mentions that she will indeed put in a good word for Kamae. She does admit that she's only known Kamae for a brief period of time, but still any good word from anybody is bound to help Moire. She won't complain in the slightest. "It's all I need regarding this Kamae fellow," Moire replies, "Oh, that and directions. I know he's somewhere in Central City, but let's just say that Megis wasn't exactly very specific for where in Central City he was."
Moire couldn't help but notice that Qarinah was particularly interested in the two females among the cultists. Again, she didn't know how exactly this succubus functioned, but perhaps she'd might take them on as personal followers or something like that. The majin didn't really know. The demon soon walked right up to Moire after she speaks about her sealed power before taking her hand and brushing aside the lone antenna that rested between the majin's eyes. That one tends to go wherever it pleases, so it likely won't last behind her ear for very long. "More of a consequence of being drained of one's power for over a century," Moire reveals.
The succubus then makes a little jest that the shinjin have a bit of a tendency of being rather poor at keeping things sealed away forever, citing herself as one such example, though given the tone of her voice there seemed to be something else behind it. Given the time she's spent with the shinjin, Moire wasn't exactly the greatest at identify these sorts of subtle messages. Surely purring was good, right? "That is very much evident," Moire replies, "Is... Is something amiss?"
Qarinah let her fingers hover just above the skin of the Majin woman, almost lazily and languidly moving just above her as if an after-thought. "Held captive for over a century, your power drained and stripped away from you... All because they want to play at being the ones in control, to impose some kind of order over the chaos that is existence..." the demon mused, sounding very sympathetic throughout it all. She allowed herself to linger a little longer in the womans personal space before sighing and shaking her head, breaking off the faux contact.
"No nothing's amiss. Just realising right now that out of the entire deck of cards, I have managed to pull an ace." the vampiric succubus said, a playful pout on her lips before it turned into a smirk, followed up by a shrug of her shoulders. "Oh well, at least you're easy on the eyes if not the lips." Qarinah mused before chuckling. "Although that would be a very dangerous game to play between two predators such as ourselves, now wouldn't it..."
It took her a moment or two, and some fiddling with the scouters but she managed to copy her map of where she had been and upload it to the one she wanted to give to Moire. "Can't recall the name of it, but we met at this lovely little cafe in Central City that I think he frequents a fair bit. Co-ordinates are in the Scouter now." she said, nodding at the Majin woman. "I've yet to visit wherever it is he has his true base of operations in of itself however." Qarinah admitted.

At first Moire was rather confused as to what was up with Qarinah, the demon seemingly so interested in not just her own personal story, but something else judging from her gaze. It was only until she began to remember all of the times she had gazed down onto the mortal realm that she begins to start putting the pieces together as to what might be up. Such intimate relations between shinjin is so incredibly rare, and the majin herself never saw it happen herself. Down on planets like Plant, on Konats, and especially Earth, she had witnessed many others having a similar look to what Qarinah is giving her at the moment, which means one potential thing...
Moire quickly breaks eyes contact with the demon, a bit embarrassed after taking such a long time figuring out that part as she makes it all the more clear, Qarinah mentioning that she's 'easy on the eyes, if not the lips.' It had always been something she was so curious about when it comes to mortals and their relationships, and it was something that she herself had never had an opportunity to get a close look at. But no, not now. She must keep her focus on her purpose, to be rid of mortal life and to take their power for herself. When everything finally begins to settle down at the end of her journey, then... She'll have to figure out what happens next, for she believes she isn't anywhere close to the end.
By the time she snaps back from all of those intrusive thoughts, Qarinah brings out another scouter to present to Moire, running a few things on the device for a bit before handing it over to the majin. She doesn't remember the name of the cafe that she and Kamae were at, but the demon is able to give Moire the general location while announcing her own desire to potentially visit his actual base of operations. "The models certainly look quite different from a century ago," Moire comments as she takes her sweet time looking over the device, "But this should work just fine until I get things settled. Plus, I suppose it would be nice having access to a map in general. I too am rather curious as to Kamae's base of operations. From the sound of that alone, he must have plenty of his own resources." Using just a bit of her magic, Moire shifts the color of the scouter's lens to a dark red before placing it over her right ear. Technology wasn't exactly her realm of expertise, but she's sure that she'll figure it out eventually.
Was... was she blushing?! Qarinah tilted her head in curiosity when the taller Majin broke eye contact with her, her eyes hooding in amusement even as she bit her lower lip. <So maybe not entirely an ace, just simply a little slow on the uptake perhaps?> the vampiric demon thought to herself, pondering this new little self-imposed challenge she now potentially faced with Moire. The demon shrugged at the comment regarding differences in technology from a hundred years ago.
"Mortals do tend to go a bit mad with their toys, especially during warfare and such. Wouldn't surprise me that aesthetics alter as well as part of the "upgrade" process for all their toys." she mused, a smirk playing across her lips as Moire altered the Scouters lens colour to a dark red. Was this a means to appeal to the succubus' taste for blood, or was it simply the Majin's own preferred colour of choice? Or a happy coincidence for both or a mere whim on her part?
Who could say? But Qarinah floated around to the back of the Majin, trying to drape her arms around the woman's shoulders as she worked her head to the right hand side of the Majin's head, on level with wherever her ears would be on a regular humanoid form. "Oh resources aplenty he does have... And such interesting bargains and deals with the locals in the process as well." she purred, her feet playfully kicking the air as she floated beside her new ally.
"Speaking of resources... I cannot help but wonder one small tiny thing..." Qarinah slowly said, her words lilting with a pang of hunger. "Are the rumours true?" she purred, before trying to give Moire's shoulder a nibble! This was not in any way an attack on the woman, nor was she attempting to bite down hard or actually chew into her. No, she was simply nibbling in the same way that a puppy or a kitten would a persons hand or foot when it was playing.
Although she did seek to try and scrape a little bit of Moire's form behind her teeth for later use...
It wouldn't hurt to have some piece of a Majin on hand should the worst come to worst. On the one hand, having a piece of a Majin meant that Moire could be reformed and revived from it should she run afoul of a more powerful adversary. On the other hand of course, Qarinah was almost certain she could find her own use for a sample of Majin flesh... Not everything was for sale after all, and she honestly could not resist trying to collect even just a tiny fragment from this woman.
After her nibbling attempt either way, she'd pull back and wink at Moire with a playful cheeky look on her face. "Can't blame a girl for trying~" the vampiric succubus chuckled before giving an overly dramatic and formal bow before Majin Moire, and disappeared in an apparent swarm of bats from the scene.

With every passing second Moire wonders just what Qarinah was looking for with her of all people. Of course with her so flustered at the moment and the fact that Qarinah is a succubus, the majin is still a bit surprised that she's taken such interest in her specifically considering the fact that she's, well, not a mortal. She doesn't know fully what sort of people succubi look for, but Moire believed that she wouldn't be counted as amongst those people given her own status. Apparently she wasn't off limits given Qarinah's looks, only making the majin a bit more flustered.
Moire attempts to regain her composure a bit and distract herself from Qarinah by fiddling around with the scouter, pressing a few of the available buttons to cycle through different layouts and languages. It's certainly quite an intricate device, but it's nothing compared to what she could do at one point in time. The distraction, however, wouldn't prove to be enough as she feels Qarinah's arms drape over Moire's shoulders, causing her to stiffen up a bit. How brazen can this woman be?
She was about to speak up and ask what Qarinah was doing before wondering if the 'rumors' were true. At first Moire had no idea what Qarinah was referring to, but the moment she felt her mouth against the majin's shoulder she realizes what it is that she's referring to. Of course as anticipated, Moire would only grow more flustered from such actions, especially since if she was actually curious as to whether or not she tasted like bubblegum or whatever it is humans chew on these days, Moire might've just torn a bit of herself off to sate her.
This was absolutely on purpose, and though she didn't realize that Qarinah had retrieved some of Moire's flesh upon drawing away from her shoulder, she believed that she was still playing around with her. Moire whips back around to meet Qarinah, who gives the majin one graceful bow before transforming into a swarm of bats and disappearing from the sight, leaving just Qarinah and the remaining cultists to stand there awkwardly for a few seconds.
Moire snaps out of her trance as she starts heading towards the exit herself, believing that there is nothing left for her to do here. She has a purpose to fulfill, and she isn't going to accomplish anything just by standing around and doing nothing.
