Tea Time (Closed)

As the hustle and bustle of Sadala continued on, giving way to blissful ambience; Zuqetta found herself steadily drifting into an easygoing feeling of nostalgia. From the overly loud vendors selling their wares, to the meat heads starting fights over their 'big power levels'; it wasn't necessarily something that she had either missed or longed for, but it was something that reminded her greatly of the past. There were pleasant and not so pleasant times to go around; but with the peace that swelled about, she found herself solely reminded of the pleasant times. She would quickly find her thoughts interrupted however, with the sudden arrival of the one she'd called upon for conversation; Lilith.

"Heh, took ya long enough." Zuqetta would say casually as she took a another sip of her beverage, "Woulda figured a so-called 'goddess' would be a bit more punctual~!" Zuqetta would tease as she leaned back in her seat; eyeing the shin-jin down.

While it had only been a few months, Zuqetta had made a dramatic change thanks to her training; Lilith on the other hand, seemed no different than before. She still had no power to sense, but more importantly, her appearance hadn't changed a lick.

"Still pomp and gaudy, huh?" Zuqetta would jest before giving a smile, "Heheh, just messin' with ya! as you can see, I'm doin' better than ever." Zuqetta would explain as she stood from her seat to display the results of her training in full detail, "It's been a trial masterin' magic, ki, and techniques; but here I am!" She'd exclaim confidently as she slammed her fist into her palm.

She'd had good instructors onboard the Freezing Horizon; while none compared in strength to her prior mentors, they were at least good, honest people. Zuqetta counted herself lucky that upon escaping Plant, she at least had a people she could fall back on; it made the decision much easier, even if it wasn't necessarily the right one.

Zuqetta remained otherwise oblivious in spite of Lilith's own attempt to tease, with said attempts completely going over the young Saiyan's head. That wasn't to say however that Zuqetta didn't find the most mild bit of annoyance at the comment of her height. She would ignore the comment as best as she could; she'd already gotten a growth spurt, and there wasn't anything saying that could couldn't continue to grow in the future after all.

"Growing aside, I'm glad ya like the uniform." Zuqetta would comment as she sat back in her seat, "I designed it with the help of my crew; it utilizes a special nano weaved, mythril thread that's been interlaced with magic infused, processed drake scale!" Zuqetta would explain enthusiastically as she rubbed her hands down the sides of her garb before showing off her gauntlets, "As for the 'metal' portions, they're actually forged, magic golem parts! Each aspect of my uniform has been designed for absolute maneuverability, durability, magic enhancement, and comfort!" Zuqetta would finish pridefully as she grabbed her beverage for another drink, "Hehe, not ta mention, style!"

She took great pride in the design of the garb she wore; something that not only rivaled, but far exceeded that of traditional battle armor. Ironically, it was thanks to her adventures since fleeing Plant that she was able to come upon such a design; but she also owed just a bit of thanks to the few she had encountered along the way. Though she wouldn't admit it, a bit of the stylistic design of the outfit had been taken from the design of Lilith's own outfit after all; that was better kept a secret however, lest the would-be goddess grow an even larger head.

"What about you though?" Zuqetta would interject, "You hardly seem any different at all; you just been lazin' around or somethin'?" Zuqetta would ask curiously as she gave a gesture with her now empty drink to the staff nearby for a refill of her beverage.

"Call it a 'costume' again, and I'll absolutely destroy you." Zuqetta would say in as calm a manner as she could fashion; all the while, her brow twitching from her attempts to hold back the sheer murderous intent she felt from heard such a remark.

The attendant would arrive quickly with a refill for Zuqetta's drink; as well as with a new drink for the so called 'goddess', before he would depart once more to tend to other guests of the restaurant. Zuqetta would be quick to taking to her new beverage; anything to help quell her irrational rage. As Lilith continued to speak in her typical arrogant fashion, Zuqetta would take another glance around the area; taking in the sheer peacefulness of it all. While it might have only been a short time in the grand scheme of things, the adventures she'd had since leaving felt like they could fill a lifetime. So distant and exciting as things were, it made this new Sadala feel rather drab and boring. At the very least, it was boring for a good reason.

"There ya go again with this 'goddess' shpeel!" Zuqetta would sigh as she took a rather large gulp down of her drink, "You. Are. A. Shin-jin! Got it? Not a goddess!" Zuqetta would express in an annoyed manner, "I don't care how long ya live for or that ya people call your part of space 'heaven' or whatever! Ya bleed, ya die, you're just as mortal as the rest of us!"

It was always annoying to hear Lilith drone on about being a 'goddess'; but it was even more annoying to be referred to as something 'lesser' but because she was a Saiyan. Ward seemed to have a similar vibe, but at least he kept his remark far more in check when they had last spoke. Honestly, Zuqetta wondered if she shouldn't try to introduce the two; Ward would likely have some choice remarks that might very well put this would be goddess in her place.

"Anyways, enough of this back and forth!" Zuqetta would declare before chugging down her drink and slamming the cup into the table, "I wanna know how things have been!" She would state firmly, "Things here are as peaceful as I always imagined they could be; what's up with that!? No rebels for me ta beat down? No rioters lookin' for an unnecessary fight??" Zuqetta would question as she reached over to tap a passing attendant; gesturing for yet another drink, "The heck am I supposed ta do now? Read a book or somethin'!?" She would remark as she leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms, "Not that I'd mind... I like readin', hehe."

It was difficult to complain about the state of things; after all, why would she ever complain about a peace that she herself had once attempted to fight for? No, she had no complaints, just skepticism; she'd come simply to visit and had expected things to be pretty peaceful, just not THIS peaceful.

There was no getting through to Lilith when it came to the matter of 'godliness', but so long as she wasn't using it to demean her, then Zuqetta felt she could tolerate it. More importantly, it seemed that Lilith really didn't have much going on; while she didn't admit to it, it was more or less as Zuqetta had surmised. The Shin-jin did nothing more than laze around; all Zuqetta could do was sigh at that fact, at least Ward seemed to have some hidden lofty agenda behind his words. what that agenda was, Zuqetta truly didn't care, but it was better than laying around doing nothing.

Guzzling down her newly arrived drink; to the annoyance of the attendant that brought it, Zuqetta would slam the empty mug onto the table before leaning forward aggressively as she stared Lilith down. It was time for things to change with this Shin-jin, and if she wasn't going to do it herself, then Zuqetta would have to be the one to do it.

"Mhm, it's apple juice in fact!" Zuqetta would exclaim with a sharp grin, "Imported straight from Earth, I've been lovin' it lately!" She would explain before slamming her fist into the table, "That settles it!" She would shout as she stood up from her chair and looked down upon the Shin-jin, "Lilith, you're comin' with me!" She finished enthusiastically with a criminally wide smile.

"You're confused? Good!" Zuqetta would exclaim as she took Lilith's hand to pull her out of her seat, "That'll keep ya on your toes!" She would state before pushing aside her chair, "C'mon, we're going to my old place!" Zuqetta would say enthusiastically as she prepared to lead the way.

As the two would begin to leave, the annoyed attendant would return; this time carrying a rather large keg that had been filled with apple juice. To his dismay however, the individual was not only departing, but they were departing without paying! Before he could speak up on the matter however, he would quickly be intercepted by a Saiyan guard garbed in a black armor; an individual who had taken it upon himself to not only pay the bill, but to accept the keg of apple juice on Zuqetta's behalf before following the two at the distance.

It wouldn't take long for the two to be upon Zuqetta's old manor; just as burnt up and dilapidated as it had always been. It certainly wasn't a pleasant sight, but it was a sign that things weren't TOO different from before; which brought the slightest bit of comfort.

"What's with this planet and leaving things in ruin? Do they all just like ruins or somethin'?" Zuqetta would question as she kicked about at the crumbling stone wall, "Well, at least there ain't any squatters... least I don't think there are." Zuqetta would finish as she looked about the dilapidated building.

Zuqetta would cross her arms as she looked about the manor, listening in on Lilith's complaints as she contemplated how best to move the conversation along. There were plenty of different things that Zuqetta wanted to talk about, and hardly enough hours in the day to do so. For now, she decided it'd have been best to simply be up front and come clean about her primary intentions rather than to drag the conversation out with needless tangents.

"Lilith." Zuqetta would begin, turning about to face Lilith with a serious expression, "I want you to join me." Zuqetta would state plainly; pausing momentarily to allow the words to settle.

It was no doubt a vague request, but Zuqetta hoped that Lilith would begin to take in the sudden seriousness of her words.

"I'm a mercenary now; I have a ship and a crew, and I do odd jobs here and there." Zuqetta would continue, explaining herself in proper detail, "To be honest with you though... other than myself, there's only one other who's actually of any use in combat." She'd state reluctantly with a sigh as her tail flicked about beneath her mantle, "And well... heh, he's only about a fraction of my strength when not transformed. Other than him, the rest of my crew run logistical support, finances, supply runs, and the occasional information gathering."

While the information may have seemed sudden, Zuqetta was intent on having Lilith join her crew; as such, she had no issue with being completely up front with the information given. She knew that neither she nor who crew were anything impressive or noteworthy; as well, her previous actions in the past certainly weren't about to earn her praise. Still, he decisions now were her own, and she'd hoped that the minor friendship the two of them shared would be enough to at least warrant an inquiry on the matter rather than an outright dismissal.
