Saizomaru PL: 5,000 (BASE)
Clear blue skies as far as the eyes could see. A slight breeze on the wind as the winter season began its slow give for the spring. A slight chill still carried itself but it wasn’t as bad as it was a month ago. Streets, buildings, trees, grass and all things in-between gave off a soft golden shine as the sun bathed the land in its warmth and glow.
Saizomaru couldn’t begin to wonder how long it had been since he had stepped outside and really took in the sights. For years he had travelled the Earth but only as a soldier. He didn’t have time to tour any particular area, only holed up in an outpost and awaiting supplies and orders. It was the first time in a long time that he could go where he wanted.
It was the first time in a long time that he felt like a free man.
For his first order of business he was to take in the scenery of South City, and there was no better place to start with than in the city park. The area was huge, taking up several dozen acres of space. It had its own play area for the kids, a forest for the naturist and hikers, and several other places of interest. For Saizomaru, he found himself sat on a bench overlooking a large lake while the high-rises of the city loomed on the horizon.
A part of him felt tranquil just like the surface of the water. A part of him felt troubled just like the ripples at the edges of the lake. His body was hunched over, elbows resting on his knees, as he set his eyes on the lake surface. He saw someone he recognized and yet looked so strange to him. He knew that the face was his own reflection, yet at the same time it wasn’t who he had known for years. To have his human body taken from him and replaced with an artificial one was something he was still getting used to, if ever he would.
His fingers curled, flexed, then relaxed. Everything still felt normal. He could still feel, still breathe, still smell and taste, but no longer did he need to eat or drink or sleep or even breathe. For all intents and purposes, he had become greater than what he once was. The problem was that he didn’t know what exactly he had to give up in return.
