Tiyesa
ALIEN • 24 • FEMALEExtraterrestrial | Hardy | Survivalist | Antisense | Quick LearnerLike all Canisteleans, Tiyesa has light blue skin and slightly pointy ears. Most of her facial features resemble that of an Earthling, except for her catlike yellow eyes. Her mane of thick wavy auburn hair reaches all the way to her lower back, and is kept loose most of the time.
Physique is an important factor for the people of planet Canistel. For females, the desirable height is at least 170 cm - a standard Tiyesa doesn't quite meet, although she's close enough to be accepted as a well-formed noble lady and warrior. She possesses a high fitness level, having received physical training since childhood, and martial training since early teenage years. While not particularly brawny, especially not in her base form, she does have a good muscle tone.
As a member of high society, she is used to wearing a variety of upscale clothes, although she prefers comfortable attire. Her casual garb usually consist of a black top, white baggy pants, black boots, with some golden or gilded accessories added here and there.Height: 168 cm (5′6″) | Weight: 66 kg (145 lbs)
Skin: Light blue | Hair: Auburn | Eyes: Yellow

Planet Canistel is home to a monocultural, monarchical civilization full of corruption, nepotism and bias against everyone who is not a native. While Canisteleans themselves are divided into different castes which do not mix, most extraterrestrials are considered unworthy of even basic rights, such as freedom. Of course, contact with races that are more technologically advanced is coldly respectful, so as not to provoke conflicts. The treatment of those who come from less developed lands is brutal, however. Such captives are enslaved - forced to serve noble households, do the most lowly and dangerous jobs, or provide atrocious types of entertainment for the locals. The most popular of these entertainments are the gladiator pits, where about half of the fighters are slaves from other planets. Some Canisteleans, especially those coming from lower castes, also choose to sell themselves to the pits - either for glory, to feed their families, or to pay off their debts. In most cases, they are free to leave after a predetermined number of fights - provided that they survive. The captive extraterrestrials do not get such opportunity; they stay in the pits until they lose a fight - all of them being to the death.
Born and raised on planet Canistel, Tiyesa is a member of the local nobility. Her father, Lord Lúcuma, is the owner of the largest fighting pit on the planet. For most of her life, she thought nothing of the family business. She was far too busy receiving lessons from her tutors, attending functions, and undergoing the basic physical training that most Canisteleans are subject to. The injustices her people carry out against foreign beings were not at the front of her mind, although she occasionally questioned the morality of such subjugation. This dubiousness mostly stemmed from a friendship with one of her handmaids, a Majin named Zamma. The pink-skinned slave was incredibly witty, amicable and adaptable. She made for great company, especially with the stories she told about her exploration of outer space and adventures she had had, before being captured by a group of Canisteleans and forced to serve Tiyesa's family. There didn't seem to be much resentment in Zamma, she accepted her new situation without any resistance, seeing it as a yet another interesting experience - a temporary one. And temporary it was.
Upon finding out that his 21-year-old daughter had grown close to a Majin, Lord Lúcuma decided to put an end to it. He sent the slave to the gladiator pits. Zamma died during her first fight, and Tiyesa was forced to watch it. The experience shattered her worldview and threw her into a lengthy period of confusion, helplessness and rage. There was no support from her family, since none of them could understand why she was upset about the death of an extraterrestrial. Tiyesa pulled herself together on her own, and resumed her duties, education and training as a noble lady - much to the relief of her relatives.
But her views and goals had changed. She swore to find a way to end the senseless massacre taking place in the fighting pits, and end the unjust prejudice against non-Canisteleans. It took long months before she found leads, but she finally managed to get in contact with a rebel group opposing the heinous practice. Tiyesa concealed her identity, wearing hooded cloaks and using an alias - Chesa - to come to covert meetings of the resistance. Given her close ties with the organizers of the gladiator events, she was able to provide useful information and participate in plans that damaged the business - from helping some captives (especially children) escape, to arming the rebels, to informing them of planned raids. The actual takedown of the archaic practice is on its way, with the resistance growing every day. The mysterious Chesa, her real identity known to but a few trustworthy leaders of the rebellion, is held in high regard by those partaking in the uprising. At the same time, members of the nobility are starting to suspect a subversive spy might be among them.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
Like most members of nobility, Tiyesa has been raised to be confident, rational and tactful. Her social skills had been honed at her father's court, where she learned proper manners and ways of having an engaging, intelligent conversation. That does not mean she enjoys small talk, however - on the contrary, she prefers silence if nothing of substance can be said.
Being quite headstrong, she is used to getting her way. Trickery, bribery or manipulation are not beneath her, nor is brute force; although she does feel the most comfortable when employing a candid, straightforward approach that allows all involved parties to benefit. She is more than used to sneaking around, bending the truth or lying, even if she knows it is unethical. In fact, Tiyesa has a strong sense of morality - but that does not mean she will always pick the most righteous option available in any given scenario. Pragmatic and utilitarian, she instead does what she thinks is the most beneficial to herself, her allies and/or the biggest number of people, and deals with the sense of guilt that comes from wronging someone. Her well-tuned moral compass gets ignored more often than not.
Tiyesa is a compassionate, empathetic individual. She strives to help people, but does not believe in fairy-tale ideals. If the circumstances require the use of violence, she will resort to it without much hesitation. In some cases, she is capable of forfeiting her own well-being for others; much the same way, she is also willing to sacrifice others for a cause she deems important.
Overall, she considers herself to be a good person, and her actions usually allow her to pass for one. In truth, she is more of an ambiguous type - selfish at times, selfless at others, both willful and adaptable depending on the situation, honest and deceptive relative to the people she is interacting with. Her intentions are generally noble, even if her methods are not.

Power: 60% [1 TP]
KP Cost: 5 KP [1 TP]
Variants: Shield [2 TP]
Sparking Heavy || Vengeful Volley
For a few second, Tiyesa channels her Ki to fire a barrage of powerful energy blasts, bluish-white in color, from both of her palms. Unleashed in a rapid-fire burst fueled by wrath, this attack causes considerable damage to those hit, as well as to the surrounding area.
Power: 110% (up to 150%) [6 TP]
KP Cost: 6 KP
Variants: Preparation [2 TP], Splitting [2 TP]
Utility Technique || Flight
Like most high-borns on her home planet, Tiyesa is able to fly by harnessing her Ki.
Utility Technique || Ki Sensing
A technique that allows Tiyesa to sense, measure, and differentiate the Ki signatures of Ki attacks and all living beings without the Anti-Sense trait. Higher Ki signatures are easier to sense and can be sensed at greater distances than lower ones. This technique is passive and does not use KP.
Utility Technique || Ki Suppression
Tiyesa's skilled control of Ki enables her to suppress her Power Level to a minimum of 1 PL to either hide or use this lower PL to fight opponents weaker than her full strength on even footing. This technique is passive and does not require KP use.

ANCESTRAL FURY TIER 1 • x4 MULTIPLIER Blue aura | Increased muscle tone | Glowing eyes Less of a transformation and more of an immense powerup, this form doesn't really alter Tiyesa's appearance that much. Her yellow eyes gain a neon glow, and her body becomes surrounded by a shimmering blue aura of Ki (called the Azure Aether by inhabitants of Canistel). Tiyesa's muscles also become better-defined as her physical strength gets boosted. In this form, her energy attacks are still the same whitish blue, although much more potent. Most noble Canisteleans achieve this power surge during their training. It is believed that this form taps into the arcane force of one's ancestors - the more powerful the lineage, the more significant increase in their prowess. |
