The days leading up to the eventual climax of their journey was relatively peaceful for Kamae. The demon spent most of his time working on the devices that would ultimately aid the tree in its early stages of growth. He could usually be seen with his copy working hard to make sure everything was in working order for when they eventually plant the tree. A few machines were in place, but portable ones and easily passed off as simple surveying equipment. Nothing nefarious looking could be spotted in his tiny little set up, unless you knew the truth.
Kamae hadn't spoken much during this time, spending almost all of his energy on making sure everything was perfect. He had found the best possible spot to both appease Ban while also getting the job done. The lives of the namekian people would be relatively untouched, though a few places where people lived would unfortunately be effected. There was going to be namekian casualties no matter what. That was the unfortunate truth to the situation. Yet Kamae could only hope Ban didn't turn on him mid battle because of this.
The demon had begun to suspect Ban was not as... on board with this plan as he had hoped. But the situation didn't improve the opinion of Kamae. The man was a criminal, but one with a moral compass. Yet he supposed that was how the living went about their day to day lives. Making this invisible lines in the sand to define themselves as different than another species or as some sort of 'honor' code'. A thought Kamae could never truly understand. But even as he was inputting information into the machine before him, typing on a console rapidly, he found himself wondering if he ever had such a compass to begin with.
Perhaps living things were built with that in their minds and upon changing who he was... perhaps that compass had long been forgotten.
