BACKGROUND: Inyo was born from the World Tree, like any Shinjin, where his life began in a fully adult form. He was raised as one might expect in the Otherworld, where Inyo experienced a leisurely existence filled with learning, hobbies and preparation for adhering to the cause of the Gods - observing the mortals and other realms. For a time, Inyo was content in his long life, as he watched and observed those that did the same in positions higher than his own; it was his goal to serve the cause of the Gods, to become a Supreme Kai, and fulfill a purpose he felt drawn to. But, at the same time, through those glances and insights the young Shinjin began to see a potential problem forming, one that some Shinjin either couldn't or refused to see... there was a steadily growing imbalance throughout the universes, as beings of varying species began to amass power well beyond normal mortal - or otherwise - capabilities. The impending shift in what Inyo saw as the balance of the cycle of life and death, creation and destruction, was evident to his eyes and he began to question and seek answers from his betters.
In fact, Inyo had always been a little different. His first instinct, when hearing or witnessing a Shinjin squabble, was to involve himself. His natural response wasn't to simply watch or listen, but to position himself readily in the middle of the confrontation and seek a resolution. It might have made him seem nosy to some, rude to others, but Inyo cared only about the continuation of how things should be. Unknown to Inyo, save to but a few, his fruit had been... odd, and had likely resulted in the young Shinjin's more interposing nature and inclinations. It might also have explained Inyo's want to learn about more physical and bodily lessons and experiences, which would manifest in the study of martial arts some decades later.
Initial responses were dismissive, but Inyo persisted. Eventually, decades later, he found a few others that shared similar or at least balance-adjacent views. Inyo aligned himself with several powerfully positioned supporters, those older and wiser than he, and requested tutoring on how to overcome the worries that plagued his mind. He was given a number of suggestions, some helped, others didn't, but in the end the solution seemed the same: perhaps, with matters how they were on a universally escalating scale, some kind of intervention at certain moments was needed? It was certainly a different philosophic direction for the young Shinjin to begin considering, one that he tried to put off as youthful ignorance initially, but over time couldn't deny that something was wrong and that the other realms had changed. And it was when the revelation was seen that mortals, mere mortals, could near or even surpass the power of Gods that Inyo knew: it was time to account for universal power divergence that was unprecedented.
As a result, Inyo's personality and beliefs began to deviate from the typical for his species. His foundation and reasoning was still firmly on the side of good, he refused the other alignment of nature, and a plan began to form for him. Inyo found a solace in the notion of balance, in seeking that point of equilibrium of creation and death. That wasn't to say Inyo had any notions that were destructive, or any misconceptions of pursuing his own version of perceived balance; but rather, Inyo began to look beyond himself, beyond what he was taught and expected to do and be, and began to draw the bigger picture into focus. This allowed him to see that, with the increasing power and capabilities of mortals (among others) on the rise, there was a risk of that delicate dance of life and death being skewed... and not for the better.
Enamored with a developing philosophy based on supporting the cycle of life, by applying pressure at the right points against those increasingly destructive influences, Inyo toed the line of the nature of the Gods. Theirs was to observe, and intervening could be seen as defiance of the natural order of things. But, the young Shinjin was want to point out that - with other species escalating their power, with battles that ravaged entire cities and portions of worlds - it stood to reason that observation only revealed one thing: the utter imbalance of the universe. The views were perhaps considered borderline heretical by some, yet others agreed which kept the young Shinjin mostly protected from interjection, and Inyo surmised that his life would be dedicated to weighing out that chaos rampant within the universe.
Inyo began to train. Martially, he wanted to be able to intercede on the behalf of good, life, creation, and be in a position to oppose destruction, death and chaos as it continued to spread, unhindered, and unchecked as it threw the natural cycle into disarray. Inyo would argue where the balance was when an entire stadium of innocent mortals was haphazardly destroyed by a rampant blast, from a nearby battle between overpowered mortals. Responses were varied. Still, his goal would be to offer the choice, to provide those he engaged with a chance to turn away from their unbalanced actions in the moment; and if they refused, if they wanted to continue to tip the scales in a negative manner, then Inyo would do what he must to maintain the equilibrium between the Gods' purview. For many decades, Inyo dedicated to his training, improving his mind, spirit and body, until he reached a point that he felt confident that his involvement on the mortal plane would allow for positive and balanced opportunity.
So, determined to be a cornerstone for the Gods' cause, but also willing to position himself to 'stumble' into clear violations of the universal balance by happenstance, in order to uphold the cause of the Shinjin. After all, Inyo debated that if the mortals continued to pitch the balance, then the Gods would eventually have no one under their observation, once a point of no return was reached. Those who were more supportive, those in power, gave Inyo permission to cross into the other planes, under the expectation that he would grow in experience and knowledge from other beings to further his aspirations to become a Supreme Kai in the future; and the young Shinjin took that opportunity gratefully, as he joined the ranks of other fellow Shinjin that were permitted the same excursional fare...
