Cunning and Wits

Kamae's eyes narrowed at her movement right before his hand hit, the ball of ki flying off into the distance harmlessly. Meanwhile Kamae's aim having been thrown off by the kick to his gut which sent him a step back with an "oof" followed by the demon Snarling. His opponent came rushing back in however, only to cause a chunk of dirt to fly at him. Kamae immediately redirected it with his hand to fly harmlessly to the side only to mistakenly throw a punch at the wrong time. Having assumed she would be open there but instead he misread the timing and was promptly kicked in the face.

Though his head was jerked to the side with the kick, he quickly regained his composure before attempting to punch the girl who was right in front of him down into the dirt. Using raw power hopefully to do the damage. She was quick, more agile than he was despite his strength. Aye he was still quick himself, his larger frame made it harder to catch her at times. Thankfully he was pretty durable as a result and taking such an attack was easy enough. They both needed the practice frankly and this was a fun little exchange so far.

Kamae was enjoying himself, despite his reservations at first. After all, he was a being of violence as well... So fighting was easily one of his favorite things to do. Following that punch towards Ruby, Kamae would throw out a kick by pulling his leg back and thrusting it forward. Hopefully his large height and subsequent long reach would catch her being this close.

Kamae was not surprised his punch didn't land but was surprised his kick had been used in such a manner. The demon indeed have to pause at this maneuver. So there were fighters that were that clever and agile. Interesting... Kamae was learning a lot from this exchange. Slowly the demon lowered his leg, standing still but still on guard. Ruby was a very physical individual, hitting her with this warm up moves was going to be difficult... He needed to try a different approach.

As such the demon held up a hand to point it at the girl, palm at her. At first nothing happened until fire began to form in his palm and the demon pulled his hand back across his chest before throwing out fire like one would scatter something. The fire rushing out in a wave like fashion to force the girl to jump hopefully and in so doing he would point with his other hand using a finger. From this finger, he would try to pinpoint accurate hit here where ever she was going to go. He was trying to use the fire as a cover for the actual attack that was the beam and using ki sense to find her.

Though he was unsure how fast her reaction times were. Indeed both were simply testing the other out. It was clear the differences in their personalities were coming to light. He wondered what else he could learn from this girl by her fighting style... A smile was on the Sankishin's face, a clear indication of his enjoyment of this moment. His heart racing as he tried to predict his opponent. He had been stuck in his lab far to long, and had forgotten the feeling of fighting an opponent smart enough to be a threat!

Kamae's attack had indeed hit the mark, a simple but effective strategy. The girl however reacted with an attack of her own, to which Kamae responded with a deflection. His hand swatting the ki blast away before lowering his hand to look up at the girl. His green eyes narrowing as he thought of his next move out in his head. He doubted she would keep falling for bait and switch attacks, but perhaps following up with more cunning strategies was her weakness. The demon placed both of his hands on the ground then, slowly taking his time to spread the black fog that was the singularity fold around it.

A huge chunk of the ground was soon engulfed in it, the Etheric Fold taking hold as a small island of ground beneath Kamae was soon taken into the abyss. Though it was not an attack that would do large amounts of damage, it was a good enough distraction. With the small island of land now visibly gone from before the demon, it would hopefully distract the girl from the large chunk of rock that now formed above her. Soon falling like a comet down towards her location in an effort to smash her into the ground.

This was followed up by Kamae holding out his hand to the skies above the island falling where a dozen spears of his own making would form thanks to magic materialization. This spears were heavy rods of dense steel meant to use gravity to their own benefit. Falling down in an effort to drive themselves into the girl, not impaling but impacting with enough force to at least hurt. Kamae was testing his own abilities as much as the girls... learning new and creative ways to utilize magic in combat. He was a brute force kind of person... so this was a good experience for him. He was smart, but rarely did he expand his arsenal for combat. Now was the time to do this.

Kamae was surprised by her attack, the fire melting through his own with ease before blowing away the spikes. Unfortunately for him, the demon's line of suit was temporarily blocked by the dust cloud from the island. The blast being sent his way was unexpected as well, causing the demon to be hit square in the chest where he was sent flying backwards. Though he was sent flipping backwards, the demon landed on his feet some distance away where the mark of the blast was still smoking. Though it didn't leave a visible wound... it had hurt nontheless.

"tch... Got careless."

Was all the stated before holding out his hand, fire burning brightly as he unleashed more flames at his opponent. The black fire rolling over the ground like a wave of destruction in an effort to swallow his opponent up in dread fire. Though it lacked the punch of her attack, he was still simply sparring with her. Yet at a moments notice he could turn up the effort as well. In time though, in time.

"You are much more capable than I gave you credit for on that mountain. Impressive."

Kamae shouted over the roar of his own flames, a smile of green through the black shroud of ki. She was showing him quite the fun time, and hopefully in time they would grow strong enough to be able to handle the enemies they would face.

Kamae watched as his wall of flames was split apart like it was a cloud, a common trend it seemed given the girls track record so far in this fight. She was impressive enough to deal with him when he was simply warming up. But now he was getting tired of playing this little game of toys and play hitting. The demon held out his hands in a shrug as the girl spoke of the boy. He had indeed gotten in her way, and even attacked her during their fight. Now they were going to simply enjoy the moment as it lasted.

"I see... Indeed. But we have played with our little tricks enough I think."

With that the demon's energy picked up, his shadow like body growing larger. Flames roaring from the green mouth like a furnace over fed with fuel and the ground beneath Kamae crumbled beneath the new weight of his body. While he didn't power up, he was far more deadly than before.

"Alright girl... Lets stop play slapping... its time we get to the main dish."

With that, Kamae held out his hands, fists held together before him with the thumbs touching. After a brief pause, the green fire emitting between his hands grew larger and as he pulled them apart, it was like he was unsheathing a sword from its scabbard. The flame sword flashing green fire as he flourished it like an extension of himself, as if reacquainting himself with a limb he hadn't used in a long time.

"Ahh... I forgot what wielding my sword felt like... its been months."

Kamae stated as he finally settled into a stance, sword handle pointed towards his foe while his free hand rested at his side. He would give Ruby time to get ready, as he was about to put forth effort. After a brief pause, the demon rushed the girl quickly, his smile gone from his face as he unleashed a flurry of blade swings at the girl. The final swing however, was unleashed vertically with a lot more power than he had been unleashing so far. It was aimed to smash the girl into the ground, similar to a hammer hitting a nail into its desired object. Brutality at its finest.

Kamae's swings were dedicated to beating the girl, but she was agile and quite capable of defending herself against his onslaught. Her defense however, was to instead go on the offense. Her attack knocking his blade away before the shockwave itself sent Kamae flying backwards. The demon went tumbling before coming to a stop some distance away on all fours. The sliding leaving a long trail of dust and debris as he tried to balance himself. After a moment the demon stood up once more, blood trickling down the corner of his mouth with several cuts along his shadowy body.

The demon wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with a smile, letting himself catch his breath for a moment. Retaliation in that fashion would leave someone a bit more winded, or at least that was what he thought. Despite this, the demon knew to take a slow approach in this situation. The demon's body grow larger, bulkier once more as he began to unleash even more power from his Sankishin, the body growing an extra foot as he growled his frustrations. To be confined to a body was so sickening, it was like sandpaper on his skin. The more closer he got to reconnecting the worse that sensation got, and he hated it. That hate fueled him even further.

As he got his thoughts together, the demon rushed towards his target once more. Flying towards the individual at rapid speeds before coming up short. The demon then stomped his foot just out of range of the girl to create a large slab of rock which tipped up wards him. This slab was meant to draw the girl towards him before he held out his hand to prevent her from backing away from it. The demon's hand then thrust forward to unleash a lightning storm of black and green bolts aimed to shock the girl with burning tendrils of electricity. The power behind it was great, and as such she might find this attack a bit more to her liking then his normal patterns.

Kamae was glad his attack had hit, the girl seeming to falter under the blow. Yet she was enjoying herself much more than he anticipated, not that he wasn't enjoying this as well. The demon was about to signal they should stop when she stood up once more before laughing out loud. The demon got ready to defend himself, yes narrowing at her joy. She was truly a combat fanatic, perhaps much like the saiyans. It was interesting, a psychological link? No... it was probably just a way of her own thinking that brought this about.

Yet he didn't get a chance to think about it, the girl was fast! She was on him in a blink of an eye and the demon immediately realized the error he had made. His body was far to heavy... far to big to move to catch the girl! His sword came down, attempting to stop her but he was smashed into by the force of the blow. His whole body sent flying backwards in the blink of an eye. He flew, unable to control himself till he met with a rock surface. The demon slamming into it with enough force to cause the whole side of the mountain to collapse onto him. 

Dust settled upon the demon's resting spot, the rubble coming to a quiet as the demon within tried to recover from the blow. His whole world was spinning, dizziness and fury burned in his chest. He wanted to tear, to rip and rend everything about him, yet he was reminded that it was a spar. But the fury in his chest was not going to just fade away. He had just learned a valuable lesson. One he would take to heart after receiving such grave wounds. He was focused on offense to much, and as such had sacrificed his own defenses. Even as the body of the Sankishin shrank then, Kamae cursed himself. 

Hatred and self loathing burned in his breast, the flames of the sankishin burning brightly within the rubble as he felt the fires within lighting up. This was what it was like to lose... He had believed himself untouchable and now?! Now he was sitting in a pile of rubble. Arrogance and pride, those had lead to his ultimate downfall... even when he fought Karna, and his blight ridden spear.

The stone slowly melted away, leaving a Kamae standing amongst boiling rock and steam. He looked down at his hands, slowly closing his fists and reopening to understand. He was covered in head to toe in wounds, yet he wasn't showing the effects. He could certainly feel it, but rage burned harder than pain in him.

"I see... So THAT is what is wrong with me. A marvelous revelation thanks to this fight. You and Amara are the two people who have taught me the most in the last eight thousand years I've been alive. Consider that an honor girl."

Kamae stated, looking to Ruby then, eyes narrowed. He looked like how he felt, bloody, and oozing green all over. He was just as hurt if not worse than Ruby. That extra bit of energy from the Sankishin came with a heavy cost, he had never realized he was taxing his body in such a manner. What a curious discovery, such a subtle thing had escaped his notice. Now he understood and would never use it again.

"My oh my... it would seem we both are a bit roughed up. But I still have energy to burn."

Kamae was willing to continue if Ruby was, after all if he didn't vent his anger here he was probably going to find someone else to torment. Not that he planned to torment ruby... yet anyways.
